    [Performance] 32bit vs 16bit

Ive noticed that there is a major difference in performance when 32 bit color is used compared to 16 bit. The game stutters horribly in 32bit and i cannot have most of the graphics turned up. However I have since figured out that when I set the game to run in 16bit color I can crank up the detail without anymore stuttering. The game still looks great and is more playable in the process. I suggest that others try this to see if it will help their game.

nope, though none freezing has been seen, it still crashes.
i blame the hard need of a fast cpu, and this weather

my cpu tempreature goes to 60° when playing dow and whit this hot weather, i blame the crashes becous of the high tempreature

i have always problem with my pc in summer, i have amd and they go much hotter

im thinking of eithere buying a 4th cooler or an othere 512mb memory

heres an idea, get another 512 and add more case fans or get another cooler. I have a 2500+ with stock heatsink and get up to 55 C in DOW (normal) Make sure your tower is ventilated (not in a cupboard or something) Or try just putting a fan in the room (like I have done)

*thwaps the people talking about computer temperature* Anyway.. I found a difference between 32 and 16 bit, 16 runs smoother for me and still looks good, plus for me text is easier to read of 16. Even in battles where my FPS drops like a cultist infront of a dreadnought, it's still semi-smooth.

Heh, k. Then yeah, you may experience a bit of a hit at 32-bit because on that kinda stuff 32-bit is just slower than 16-bit. Newer hardware shouldn't have that issue.

Ok ok maybe I got off topic about heat but 16-32 bit can be a bit of a differnece or not. Just depends on the system. Usually 16 is faster

On an older piece of hardware, yes. On newer stuff there tends to be no difference.

Ive got a GFTi4400 on a 2.6p4 rig with 1 ghz of RAM - It makes a major difference, particularily in the big battles.
