I am DEAD SERIOUS about this folks, and if you guys are, PLEASE VOTE!!! If this community has a large enough voice, I think they will listen (if we all agree of course :notadd: ). I REALLY don't want a film playback feature. Despite my creative edge saying, "ooh, nice way to watch your performace,"my competative side says,"ugh, all the build biters out there." SO, i offer three choices in the poll, YOU be the judge.

P.S. YES, I know there is a "Save film" button in the game already.

It will be in the full release which is IMO a good thing, people are going to post build orders anyway.
Besides, it helps the newbies improve and it would be boring if all we fought were newbies who didn't know what they were doing, much more fun to take on a challenging opponent.

all you fight obviously, wouldn't be newbies. Sure it would help newbies quite a bit, but it also give your competitors the opportunity to view your build an techniques. Doesn't mean much now, but come tourney time...

Core aspect of MP gaming: you SHARE your strats/BOs/Tactics/way of thinking with as many other players as possible, so they USE these strats/tactics/BOs/ways of thinking AGAINST YOU, so you will learn to COUNTER them more effectively, so ou can become a BETTER PLAYER. This applies not only to RTS but to any other type of gaming genre.

You wanna be leet and secret your strats? You can do this, but ppl generally not like ppl who do this. So be warned.


Next time you post something, do it for the sake of the whole community, not for yourself or specifically for ppl like you.


EDIT: Correct me if Im wrong, but I heard that you were promoting a certain clan that you are a member in, recently. How does your clan operate, if one of the clanm8s doesnt even want to share his strats/tactics with other ppl?

Our clan shares strats/tactics with each other. We will be doing battle with most other clans. It is very likely that DoW will spawn many tournies, and if your clan is eyeing the victory step, you like to protect your strats. Is there anything wrong with this? I can't really see how there is.

There is nothing wrong with clan specific strategies, but ppl dont like persons who keep thier strats only to themselves, or to a specific group of ppl. Thats a fact.

However, if you feel that you have discovered a new strat, you can give it a name, and then credit yourself as the person who discovered it. Actually, TBH, there arent too many opportunities for some leet strats or tactics in RTS games, and especially in such a game as DoW, as the opponent would know what tactics you use, as he has to counter them. as for BOs, DoW's simplisity makes them not too much of a significance, other than the already obvious things.

And just to your knowledge, our clan doesnt keep any strats secret. And we have invented some neat ones, over the course of our existence.
