    Dogs there big so you can be a bit ruff with em and vis versa take em for walks *very helpfully for the unfit lol* and protect against intruders probably my fave

    Cats well I don't think cats are pets. They're squatters is exactly how i feel ive had a lot of cats the good ones are great probably even better then dogs but the bad ones heck there horrable and if your lucky they'll just leave lol lol worst thing is when they pee on some thing UGHH god help us all !!

    Birds can be really nice cleaning there cages can be a pain in the ass but a well trained bird can be a really good pet i use to have a really nice one Sadly for the 2 good ones ive had there have been 14 others that were total sh*ts

    Fish are relaxing once again cleaning can be a pain Specially with the bigger tanks but like birds they die fast you only get 2-5 years out of a fish *depending on type* and thats if you take dam good care of them things like fin rot will kill a fish like that and it really dosent take much to get it... not a bad pet but a tad boring.

    ive heard a lot about ferrets and i know some people whove had em id LOVE to get one sadly there banned where i live

    And regarless of species *in most cases* a trained pet is worth 100 times more then an un trained pet and like some one else has alredy said self traing gets dam boring after youve done it a few times

    Kitties, more kitties, bigger kitties, and if you can't have kitties, something like a Displacer Beast!

    Supposedly descented skunks make good pets- trainable and cuddly.

    holy dog poo batman. i missed this one first time up. i did wonder just now how a thread could wildfire its way to 50 posts within a couple of hours. now i know.

    cat's all the way baby. however, my cat is a dog. it follows me about the house and is always trying to start a conversation with me. it's always pestering for food and will come in the house whenever i call it. it's currently sleeping on my bed not knowing i'm bitching about it. boy will i be in trouble if it finds out... no snugglez for me.

    A tall brunette with bright blue eyes. Nicely trimmed. Pet of the year?

    I always thought a big cat would be a cool pet. You know, tiger or jaguar or something. I hear you can train them pretty well if you get them as babies. And of course, pity the burglars...

    Actually, I came upon this thread when I was looking for an even older one. I'm one of the older members on these forums (joined about 4 years ago...) but I usually lurk, and sometimes I don't visit for months.

    Anyways, I remembered an old thread called "funny pics" or something which had a lot of cuddly animal photos. I wanted to get one from there for the "which photo makes you laugh" thread, which is active now. Well, ran into kitty thread and posted. End of story.

    <Edit: Wrong number of years>

    It appears that there are just as many loonies than ever, and praise god for that. I'm not sure if it's 3 or 4, maybe it's 3, because I simply don't remember. I think I was here before homeworld got out, so...

    What I meant was that I FIRST registered a long time ago, of course I've had to re-register every time the moderators got paranoid about those invisible magical dwarfs that keep following them and move the forum...

    I'm generally fond of all types of pets, cats, dogs, whatever. Being married to a Veterinarian/ microbiologist, we got lots of both permanent and itenerant critters running about my place. But the pets that are truly ours are 2 dogs (both mutts, wife says they live longer & have fewer diseases), 4 cats, 2 horses, and a west african gray parrot that friggin runs this house. To say nothing of the temporary visitors that run the gamut from a cat needing round the clock monitoring to a baby gibbon once (cute little guy).
