    [mod] Space Hulk

    Sureley not a difficult one. Based on the TT, you could design any number of ship maps and have genestealers in the clostraphobic environement, take out the base building and have it as a tactical, game that would be very different but faster!

    As you can no doubt tell I am not technical but anyone familiar with the TT game I am sure could see how it could cross over.

    Just a thought!

    Someone should make a space hulk mod for doom3. THAT would ROCK!

    Space hulk was a first person shooter. It was released on PS1 and Saturn i think.

    I played it only once but it was very fun. I remember the genestealers were absolutley pyschotically fast.

    Yep, I´d definatly like to play that.

    But, there is one BIG problem I see with the mod. Right now, units can shoot right through walls. And you would definatly not want them to do that in a space hulk scenario since that would look ridiculus.

    Speaking of skirmish type games. Anyone tried their hand at kill team?
    The absolute best race ever in kill team is dark eldar:
    their sentries are I5 and you get a generous amount of them.
    Best kill team: Grotesques being led by a warrior. Ld tests are taken by the highest in the unit (8) so their stupid tests would be made on ld 8. Not to mention that they can't be killed by ANY brutes from shooting and are mean in hth!
    Back on topic... I dunno about space hulk mod for dow... I don't think it would suit it. I remember playing AVP and like most people, was scared. I think FPS would be the best way to show this.

    I want a DS Space Hulk, FPS and tacical battle at once. Not going to happen I know, THQ never put good stuff on Nintendo consoles, all we get is those crummy wrestling games.

    The Doom 3 mod would be good, just fix the torch screwup.

    There must be some way to stop units shooting through walls.
    I havent really noticed, but can units shoot through player structures ingame? if not the walls could be coded as neutral stuctures with infinite hitpoints (9999 or whatever is the highest).

    The concept is great, it could make some really interesting campaign missions. The only other problem would be pathfinding through narrow hallways, with units bunching up and getting stuck. It would mean some very careful babysitting of your own troops, and some insanely detailed waypointing for the enemy AI swarms.

    The issues would be moving the gameplay to be 'inside' it'd get a little crowded, but surely could be overcome. As for the shoot through walls too.

    as for a Space hulk Done with the D3 engine.. *swoon*
    Space Hulk is one of my favorite games still. Fired it up on the old machine and off we went...

    Lets sat the senerio is a hulk crashed on an imperial worls and the emperior sends a chapter to cleans and burn the infestion. only after a few missions do we find out the geanstealears are a pawn on the Tryinids. It can happen on worlds as well as hulks. As for hulks you would have to space you hallways out and limit the FOV. In other words have the fog of war much closer to the player. :blah:

    large map buildings deff stop fire, so i dont think line of fire is a problem.

    A doom 3 mod would be awesome and its somthing im looking into myself.

    Line of fire would be a problem (no Space Hulk without the hulk..), but I think in the beta you couldn't shoot through walls or buildings..?

    Of course I could be wrong big time, but if I'm right the "solid walls" could somehow be enabled..
