Space marine rumours+ 2004 gamesday

Hi ya a mate of mine was glancing at the new space marine dex 2day(Due out early november). I didn't check it out too busy with me gaming, perhaps i should of though.

Anyway i asked him a few questions about it and he told me:-

- The ultramarines are a lot harder, in that they have honour guard now which can have lightning claws.

- Librarians auto come with a psychic hood and a force weapon at bout 100 points(Cool or what!)

- Marines can use a marine commanders leadership wherever he is on the battlefield.

- Normal tact squads can now have plasmacannons and multi-meltas like Dark angels and black templars can.

- Oh yeah and the Iron hands and side chapters like that get their own special rules just as Word bearers and alpha legion dp for chaos.

- There are lower points costs for powerfists, powerweapon, l claws, etc.

Yeah still 15 points, but they get the "We shall show no fear rule" which is good.

As for Eldar, the list for the codexes is NIds next then either Eldar or Orks, to be honest with ya eldar don't need to be much better they are hard enough as it is. However Orks and Nids do.

I chose the wrong time to upgrade my army. I get new units and suddenly there are more coming out. Guess I'll spend more money

The new marines are freaking awesome though... the hero w/ the shield is totally bad ass. I plan on getting one right when they come out!

DO NOT EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVERlisten to rumours on portent. Half of them tend to be lies. Ive never come across a true rumour on portent.

But they do put in some nice pics at times.

One guy sometimes even posts rumours that he knows are fake just to annoy people and get them talking.

I disagree!

I trashed the living crap out of an armoured company last night with my Iws.
Guard have poor stats and i find relatively easy to beat apart from the battle tanks with armour 14 they can be tough. Nothing a lascannon can't deal with though!

For future codexes Orks, Nids and eldar are gonna av em. I meant i think Orks need a new book. The warboss should be more powerful, they should put the Feral orks rules in with them.

Nids definitely need a new codex the troops die like flies as do the big stuff if you have enough firepower.

Nids are next on the agenda and the new Nid models are due out summer 2005.

Yeah, can't wait for more Deathwatch stuff... BUT... it seems there's a LOT of Imperial stuff (SM, IG, GK, WH, ETC) and then just the other races.

As for owning an Armored Company, wooptedoo, try beating up 1500 points of IG, that's a toughy because you have 100 troops shooting las-rifles at you with heavy weapons support and vehicles.

a fly could beat up the 1500pt ig army. seriuosly im not joking!!! the fly flies into a tank jams up some gaer of something, the tank goes haywire and kills all the troops :P
and how much can a fly be worth, 1 pt?

I'm guessing when they release the redoner Chaos codex they'll have models for all the legions since they have special rules now.

This is why they are called rumors. It means that they are what someone has heard God knows where. They arn't official announcements. Those come from the company.

As for the stuff on E-Bay I have seen it and I must say they look awesome. Now, I can't wait for the heads at GW to find out and go medieval on their asses.
