WHATS THE BIG DEAL WITH F2??? And HOW TO BEAT THIS BUG

I personally like the F2 function, It is totally realistic, have you ever tried shooting a rocket launcher while taking hits from a big ass ax? Yeah I thought so! Its incredibly easy to totally ignore your surroundings and/or limbs falling off so you can focus fire on something else. DUR!

So onward to my explanation on how to beat this with any race

    Space Marines:
If you are getting F2 on your terminators. Just do the following,
    1) Orbital bombardment on your terminators and the enemy’s melee units
    2) Shoot rockets in the middle of the fray, so when everyone scaddars, you can start running to melee again.
    3) Use ur snipers to “SNIPE”
    4) Build generators to block yourself in until you get 6 dreadnaughts and go rush his base.

    Chaos:
If you are getting F2ed on any of your melee units do the following
    1) Use your Warlord to seriously mess up things that are trying to melee you
    2) Just summon your bloodthruster, this should reduce the moral of the enemy a bit
    3) Get your possessed marines in there and make your ranged units run away
    4) Just sit in your base and don’t build any units until you feel safe from the F2 threat

    Elder:
If you are getting F2ed on your units, I have 4 words for you: SEER COUNCIL, UPGRADE CONCEAL.

    DONE

    ORC:
If you are getting F2ed on your units, your seriously in trouble
Simply get your Tauren Chief and do a “Warstomp” in the middle of the melee, this should stun them then get your grunts to…oh wait wrong game
Simply write to Developers@Relic.com and ask them to give conceal to all the orc units. Also you could try to use your hero’s force field upgrade to give your guys some more resistance to the ranged attacks, or just wait till you get that SQUITTLE unit (the big rhino) and have him charge where you and the enemies units are harassing you.

If this isn’t’ simple, I don’t know what is

    LOL, funny post!!

Relic has said that F2 working like it is now is a bug though, and will be fixed in next patch.

Hahaha, I actually did this to someone today just for shits and giggles. I'd already lost the match but it was funny watching my broken 7 man seer council take fire from about 8 heavy bolters and not even flinch.

F2 is hardly a problem, normally. Look at replays, they hardly deal any damage.

BUT sometimes there is a weird bug there that causes melee damage to drop? (see this game - http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?p=602990 - and see how at one point in the western base a group of guardians is F2'ed against a squad of jump-assault orks. The orks all team up on one of the guardians and can't even kill him in what seems like 20 seconds... WTF??????

    Apart from that:

Look on the back of your manual. F2 is a hotkey which puts the selected squad in 'stand ground' stance. When combined with "ranged stance" (F7 - on by default). You squads will always use their ranged weapons even when the enemy has engaged you in melee.

The argument is that units who specialise in melee (Orks, Banshees etc..) should have a huge advantage in close combat versus those who dont (e.g eldar dark reapers). Although there is a damage pentalty for using ranged weapons in close combat, its argued that this isnt enough to give melee units a fair chance.

That's not all. Many people are less concerned about the damage done to the CC troops, and more about not being able to "lock up" missile troops.

For instance, if you are trying to protect your vehicles from missile troops, F2 prevents you from locking them into CC. So those missile troops can still fire at your vehicles, no matter what you do.

Oh, and since flamers auto-hit, the accuracy decrease doesn't effect them. Therefore flamers just slaughter CC troops.

I jumped some assault marines into a missile launcher squad who used F2 against them. The missle launchers kept knocking the assualt marines down, so it ended up with the ML squad locking down my assault squad.
