research ship dock question

hi everyone!

i'm having a little bit of trouble with getting my research ships to dock, and i didn't see this problem in any of the threads, so i thought i'd ask.

i've altered the mex points and the .shp file, but my research ships still seem to connect in the same variation of the original research ships. so i'm stuck playing with the heading/min/max/up numbers in the .shp file.

does anyone know if there's something else i need to change?

what are the heading/min/max/up numbers?

Everything I tried to dock the research ships on either side in a different configuration failed. I think they are hardcoded no matter what we do.

i guess that means i have to change it now. <sigh> and it was a pretty ship too. maybe i can use it for something else.
