    All out SM/CSM rush

    I was playing against my brother this evening he pulled a rush on me that I hadn't seen before. He pulled a true rush, he built 1 scout squad and used his servitor/heritic to build a barracks. Building nothing else he produced 2 marine squads and a FC. Promptly after getting them he rushed me. I lost. I have now lost about 7 or 8 games to this kind of rush and have no ideas on how to beat it. Any suggestions would be useful. Thanks

    If your eldar, get atleast 2 guardian squads and make sure you have plasma grenades, if you have heavy/light cover at your base, use it. Save the plasma grenades for when the FC or CL comes out, with your 1 builder get an aspect portal and get your farseer, youll then stand a chance with the farseer and her spells aswell. Thats how i would counter it anyway, but, you deffinently need the plasma grenades without them, you cant disrupt squads from trenching into a position or a leader unit coming closer.

    I play chaos actually

    Actually, I am playing chaos right now until the patch. After the Eldar become more balanced I will play them. I might try that though for fun. Thanks.

    Next time it happens save the replay, then just watch his BO and then match it with CSMs/CL and you should beat him with a bit of microing, since CSMs do the same amount of damage as normal marines but can have more units per squad.

    Axiris - this rush is easiest to beat with Chaos because of forced labor. I've played a bunch of easy games vs the computer to see how fast I can get 2 marine squads and a FC out vs 2 CSM squads and a CL. Using forced labor on 2 heretics the Chaos guys are 20-35 seconds faster. The quickest way I've found to do it is this BO (copied):

    Heretic to build barracks, put on FL
    queue heretic and 2 cultists
    2nd heretic on barracks, hit FL. Turn off FL on first heretic.
    Barracks done, queue CSM and CL.
    Turn off FL on 2nd heretic.
    Move each cultists to a cap point
    Move CSM to a cap point
    Build two LPs (using FL on the 2nd heretic, who should still have > 75% health).
    Queue 2nd CSM squad.

    When the second squad comes out start reinforcing them and move to his base. By the time you arrive you should have 14-20 marines and a CL and the game (on a small 1v1 map) should be under 3:00.
