It's Thomas Smith. Seriously. It really is.
#3
so they gave the Emporer a English name, were did you find that out
#4
It's spelled "Emperor"...
I read a piece of fluff that said he was many famous people throughout history - Jesus, Buddah, etc. - so he's probably had many names.
i doubt he'd have a name like that since hes supposedly from turkey, and he wont have a real name unless he named himself because for a while he just wandered about being random and helping people
there are some who call him Tim
bob the builder
no im serious it makes perfect sense if you think about it

AAAaaaa, come people, do any of you have a REAL answer? if not, i am going to stick with Thomas Smith, and i dont' want that![]()

I'm pretty sure mine's the closest.
Did the emperor make the primarchs??
I think Tim is a fitting name.
Man on bridge - "Answer me, these questions three"
Emperor - "Ok."
Man on bridge - "Whattt...is your name ?"
Emperor - "Erm..."
- Emperor exits stage left and gets catapulted into the gorge.
Man on bridge - "Jeese, that was even worse then the last lot..."
His real original name is unknown.

so what did people call him before Herasy? Herb? i am just confused on the part on why peopel would just call him Emperor when he was alive.

The Shamans, the people most attuned to the warp, all sacrificed themselves to create the Emperor in the warp. When he came to Terra, he merely wandered for thousands of years, influencing and helping humanity where he saw fit behind many different personas. He never had a name, no one even knows if he was born through parents or just like, "warped" into the material world. After a while he took the reigns of the Imperium and was just always called the Emperor...pretty straightforward...![]()

The Emperor wasn't really known before he tried to take control of Earth. After that he was known as Emperor.
That was before the Horus Heresy.
He is also refered to "The New Man".
Really, Tim is just his nickname. Most of his pals call him that in private, even if his given name was Thomas. But seriously most people just call him The Emperor except if they know him in person.
You know I'm right.
Damn it, I feel I know this answer but my head is so stuffed with warhammer fluff its some times hard to sort it all out.
Basicly, there is a theory that has been going around that to know more about the emp you have to look at the emp in warhammer fantasy. The world there is said to be one of the worlds already IN the 40k universe but not currently cut off from warp storms. Or it WAS cut off by warp storms LONG ago and once it was freed, the emp made his way to terra (earth) from there.
I saw a question that asked this and I do know this one for fact, yes, the emp did in fact geneticly produce the primarchs from his own flesh, then some sort of accident scattered them about the warp. By the time he was on the move with his crusade to retake all the human colonized worlds that had been cut off fromt he warp storm, he found the primarchs one by one and set them up with there own space marine legions.
But that tale would take hours to type out and is well written in lots of fluff.
it was the chaos powers that scatered the primarchs in fear of what they might become...as for the emperors name, nowadays he just sits there all jacked in...so i just call him old prune :P
According the Adeptus Nostronamus, his name is 'Bob'
Bob the Emperor.
All you have to do see it written down.

This was official fluff once, but not anymore. Apparently the fantasy folks were pissed off that their world was just one among the untold millions of 40K. So GW changed it.Basicly, there is a theory that has been going around that to know more about the emp you have to look at the emp in warhammer fantasy. Really? They were pissed? But it's so cool. It's great to think of the Fantasy world someday being rediscovered.
In any case, Sigmar was NOT the (40k)Emperor. If he was, he could have conquered the warhammer world in months. And he would have invented stuff too. And generally been a whole load better. Sigmar was a primarch, plain and simple, no matter how much GW try to pander to fools.
The Emperor's name escapes me at the moment, but I think the initials were J.C....
So the Emperor was Jesus, Buddha and all them? Hmm, interesting....I'm sure a few of my hardcore religious...er, acquaintances will be pissed off at that, heh.
-J.
well, who cares if religous ppl gets pissed, its just a POINT of view![]()
Venrate
ask them to prove otherwise lololololol that should make em shut up :smash:
You said it dark Epsilon.
Anyway, it makes sense that he would try to convert and redeem humanity, before giving up when the tech becam availabe to make his own followers and convert 'em by the sword.

so basicaly, they call him Emperor~~
Horus: Hey Emperopr, want to grab a chili dog
Emperor: No...to stuffed on them Buffaly Wings

interesting....no name.....thanks all for relpying![]()
Actually, his real name is Steven, Steven the Emperor.
One Battle Sister told me that sfter she drank to much.
there is some speculation that sigmar is one off the missing two primarchsBasicly, there is a theory that has been going around that to know more about the emp you have to look at the emp in warhammer fantasy. LL Cool Emp
seriouslah, you guys, seriouslah
<3
Venrate? Are you serious? The Space Marines are either saying "Venrate the immortal emperor" or "venerate the immortal emperor".
The emperor name should be in latin, since most of his SMs chapters name are also latin.
Sigmar is dead though... and the current Empire leader is Karl Franz the Xth.

hmmm,

And anyway, Sigmar mysteriously dissapeared just like the Primarchs (It isn't known whether he's dead)... But that was only after fifty years, not the thousands enjoyed by the Primarchs.
His name is Charles Xavier!
JoshMaul
Your chapter logo is friggin awesome.
The South will rise again!
now back to the topic: There are a millions of worlds in the galaxy, and if the fantasy worlds were in the setting, they would be known to the Chaos gods if no one else and they could just drop a few squads of CSM and take over the lot.
I do not believe that Sigmar is a primarch... if that was true he should have been able to close that damn warpgate and make the empire in fantasy a whole lot bigger and tougher. Also there have been a few dwarf and elven heros that were as strong or stronger than him... for example the dwarf that tried to close the warpgate even tough he was warned by his gods, he was a semi-god too i think. Can´t remember his name but he gave one of his axes away before leaving, he easily rocked more than Sigmar. Ok i admit that was a bit offtopic, but well it has been stated often in this thread, he has no name.
Whoever wrote that he's called J.C is getting the Emperor mixed up with the 'Eternal Champion' from the Michael Moorcock books who was called many things but always with the initials JC.
his name is joe the hillbilly
MAMMA THERES A GATOR IN THE HOUSE
To put it simply no one knows his name, he wasn't blessed with one because he was not born into the 40k universe like any other human. There are no humans alive that would know.
Praise The Name Of The Emperor.

The Emperor was born in 8000bc in Turkey. The reason for his birth is simple. The wisemen of the age, the Shamans were immortal. If they died their souls would float the warp and find their way into a new body, however as humanity developed the warp became a nasty place, souls were "lost" in the ether and the Shamans began to die out.
Knowing that in tens of thousands of years, if humanity wasn't prepared mentally or pyschicly against the forces of Chaos humanity would be destroyed.
To prepare humanity they self sacrificed, thousands of them died at the exact same moment. Their souls, collected in the warp and reincarnated in a baby.
Once the child had reached puberty his ageing slowed down to a near halt. His parents died, his brothers and sisters died, and his wives and many children died. He knew, in his heart that one day he would lead humanity against Chaos, and to prepare humanity for the space age he worked behind the scenes, influencing events. One century he could be a great general, the other a humble clergymen, always ensuring he could influence world policy without revealing himself.
This went on for thousands of years until a series of wars that occurred during the age of strife.
When the Eldar race collapsed they created a new Chaos god. The resulting warp storms saw that Earth was completely isolated for millenia. Food supplies, water supplies, fuel supplies all ran out. Billions died and humanity on Earth was reduced to fighting for survival.
The Emperor realised the time was right and seized control, eventually reuniting humanity on Earth. When the fighting stopped 5000 years later the warp storms abated and the Emperor began his quest to conquer the galaxy.
Nowhere in the fluff is his real name mentioned.
Nice monty pyton quote![]()
