HELL YES! thnxs for the heads up
didn't someone already post this in the DOW discussion?
Anyway it is still great that WO is not dead, but it will have to be great to compete with upcoming mmorpg's like Everquest 2.
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when my fear is gone I will turn and face fear's path, and only I will remain."

Balls to another MMORPG.
Screw that game and join the dev team with relic to produce a Warhammer RTS in the DOW engine....pwnx0r![]()
That would be really awesome. Course how would they factor in how Warhammer models fight in ranks and not as squads? Regardless that would be sweet.

Well, since GW pulled out it might not get the Warhammer touch... I guess we have to wait and see.

I heard the reason GW pulled the plug was that Climax had been funneling development money to other, unrelated projects, or even pocketing it themselves. Someone who claimed to be a Climax employee posted this on several forums and I don't think anyone ever denied that it was true.
All Climax is doing is continuing to develop a game based on that engine. In all actuality that isn't bad because if they can do what they claimed they were going to be able to do, it should still be pretty cool.
However, they've dropped the Warhammer license, so it won't be based on Warhammer.

Well all that's being said is that Climax, the developer, hasn't stopped working on the project. They're looking for a new publisher to fund the game and do not have GW's support, so even if they do continue working on the game it seems highly unlikely that they will realistically go anywhere with it without funding for the project. It also seems unlikely any publisher will pick it back up, especially knowing GW isn't backing it up.
I'm not trying to put anyone's hopes down, but just because they haven't stopped working on the project doesn't necessarily mean it's back up.
my life has recovered meaning!:jk:
but i was gutted when they announced it was closing...........
now i can rejoice!!!!!!!
i heard that it was because climax was funneling off money for unrelated projects aswell, although people at gamesday can lie i suppose, and staff do sometimes go over the top![]()

Centurion, they could easily factor in ranks and formation. Look at Rome: Total War. Personally i dont really care that much about WO, mainly because you have to pay for it. I have better things to spend my money on, like the actual models and a car. If only they would make a single player version of anything thats Warhammer: FB. Thats my two cents.
Erm. You do know this is an MMORPG not a strategy game right?
If you want a WFB strategy game I know someone modding R:TW with FB so when they finish I'll link it in my sig.
ooooooooooooooooooooooh cool ill have to check up on that, is there a site? man that would be cool, although i would have thought medieval:total war would be more suited to and fb game
Well R:TW is presumably a more advanced game so just mod in blackpowder weapons as a kind of bow and off you go.
I'll get a link (assuming there is one) ASAP.

i was just thinking in the case of the empire and brettonia and stuff theres lots o knights in medieval but pretty light cavalry in rome, but i suppose rome is a more advanced game with terrain blocking views etc
Have a small green hatted elf.

That'll get you to the forums.
nice!
There have been several sites discussing this over the past couple of days, from what I can peice together the situation is this:
Climax have continued development of Warhammer Online ever since its apparent cancellation. They are now searching for a new publisher and additional funding, but still enjoy non-financial support from Games Workshop, ie, they are still permitted use of the Warhammer license and they still have a liason etc. www.warhammeronline.com will most likely be brought back to life once a new publishing deal has been secured. Once that deal has been secured, the game could be as close as 18 months from a general release.
Awright!!
