A problem with a FFA game i had.

I played a free for all game the other day and it will probably be the last time i do for a while...

It was a 8 player free for all, and everything was going fine. about 3 players had be killed off, i had finished a guy off with a nice tactic..i led his forces from his base to chase three of my dreads around..and while he was doing that i dropped 3 dreads, 3 tactical marines with 3 Rock. laun. into his base and finished him off.

Anyways then i got attacked by a player...i fended him off but i realised that the army were two combined armies! Choas and Eldar! And they were not firing at each other! Then a third army (player)joined in. They had changed teams in a FREE FOR ALL, and of course won, beating me and the other player.

It was not fun, and very silly and unfair. This is not a flame, just a story about how far people will go to win!

Has this happened to anyone else? Can it be fixed?
The torment of precautions often exceeds the dangers to be avoided. It is sometimes better to abandon one self to destiny.

I imagine if locked teams is on then they couldn't do that.

Whne you join a free for all game make sure over in the game settings area it says "Free For All" or at the very least that the game has locked teams. Otherwise its probably some one looking to be lame and team up like that.

So.. make sure the lock teams setting is on or the free for all setting is on. Problem solved and no need to avoid FFA games.

Yeah i know that. But what sort of people would do that?

I think there should not be an option for people to change teams at all.

Maybe have a game type called diplomacy?

    Anyways ill stop whinging now

If you didn't check the "Lock Teams" box, you really don't have much right to complain. Some people like playing with fluid alliances - can backstab, have little cold wars going on, etc. If you don't like that, don't play unless teams are locked - very simple solution.

I admitt that i did not check the little box option before the game, and will always do so from now on. But come on... the name of the game type is Free for all, not diplomacy or teams.

Why have teams an option at all in Free for all?
