Americans vs Germans and Boot Button

I know this happen to somebody else but, everytime I enter a game I get booted for no reason. The is about to start and everyone has clicked in and I get booted. And its hard to play DoW multiplayer because there are alot of German games and if you dont know german they will boot you. Can we get some type of gateways here like Starcraft? And I saw that topic "Im disgusted". I totally agree with him/her. This communtiy is crapped up in the game. I think you need a filter for the words they say. Also you guys need to add a buddy list. nuff said.

I speak English and Some German, so I can make it into these games, but a lot of times my friends get kicked for being "Amerikaner". Which isn't cool =(

The simplest thing would be to have a drop down option when creating a game to say what language it's in & have a little flag icon beside each game

I personally haven't noticed this - (I'm German, but I run the English version of DOW, and I speak English online - like lots of Germans and other Euros. So I'm not recognizable as "German" to other German players).

Ignore these assholes. There are idiots in every community.

Join a clan. Set up your own clan. Play with chums. Set up 'server meets' with people you know are OK from previous games if you must... but do not mess with the ESN cretins that infest public servers.

There are loads of clans and many fine folks out there if you expend a little effort to find them. Join a group and interact with civil and intelligent humanoids and not the brainless Grotz who are smeared all over public Gamespy servers.

    Hi,
this is pretty ridiculous, one american gets kicked because he is american and starts crying ....
I even saw amercian player kick UK,French and German people just because they are from europe or somewhere else from the world.
Some even start flame wars, I saw a game where three americans insulted french people pretty harsh.
I got kicked many times when I translated german or french phrases to english, and you try to tell me that your pride is hurt so bad from getting kicked once .... geez.
People don't start a rastic flame war .... come on your brainpower should be high enough, to not judge people by their citizenship.

Uh... have you ever thought of the possibility that they might want to play with other Germans because they don't want 500-1000 ms of lag?

Not everything is done out of racism, you know. Geez...

Chade - I play with germans all the time - I join their games, and I dont lag a whit. This game is very NOT bandwidth intensive. Its more PC intensive.

When the conversation goes like this :

    Guy1 : Hallo, Deutsche??
    Man : What?
    Guy1 : Are you German?
    Man : No, US
*Man has been kicked from the game*
    Guy1 : Hahahaahah!

Its not because of locational lag.

Kicking from a game is pretty lame. Especially if there were some slower players in the match and you just waited 15 mins at the "waiting for other players..." screen.

I think there is a kick bug on gamespy that randomly kicks ppl out of lobby rooms. I know I've hosted games on several occasions and thought folks were leaving, only to have one player come back and asked why I kicked him out of the room (which I did not). I've also been kicked from lobby rooms and the host swears he did not kick me.

So maybe gamespy is partially responsible for this?

I support them in banning Americans. This is the price we should and now do pay for being complete idiots and screwing our foreign policy.... If they want to do what we have been doing for almost three years, I support it.

Next time you feel like whining about how Germans and French are being mean to you, just think about what we said about them a few weeks after 9/11.

Lag has little to do with bandwidth, Lord_Morpheus.

OK first off, imho it's total BS to translate games. The way I see it, english is THE langauge of online gaming. It's not like it helps to separate groups when everyone got the game (INCLUDING maps and units and God knows what) in their own language, right? And in a game like DoW, which is marked M for Mature (17+), everyone should be old enough to read and write atleast a little english. And if they're not, maybe they should put the game aside and go back to school.
And is it really that bad to get kicked from these games? I mean I wouldnt wanna play with some assbags who only want people of their own nationality. Let them play their stupid game and join a game with nice people who doesnt care about where you're from or if you're a good player or not. The most important thing is that you have fun.

@Supercilious Politics has no place in online gaming, on the Net everyone is equal.

Nothing against germans, but man, they seem to flood the lobby all over. The thing I _do_ dislike about _alot_ (not all) of germans is that they just walk in and speak german in an international place. That's not just limited to this game really. I've actually been an Unreal fan for years and this is pretty much the first game in a while besides Unreal I've played online. But you'll see the same thing there and in any other game.

The Germans that _do_ take the effort to speak English, even if it's a bit flawed here and there, are usually nice people. Heck, I'm Dutch, I don't speak fluent English either.

    As for this quote:

Well, I'm a newbie over here, and pretty much the only way to identify private games is the locked symbol. So you shouldn't blame people for being unsure and just politely asking.

You, Sir, are a complete buffoon. 'Our' foreign policy? Who is 'us'? Are you suggesting that the people getting kicked from Dawn of War games are responsible for government policies? Were you under the impression Donald Rumsfeld was in the habit of visiting games forums and asking if any American people there supported the overthrow of a couple mass murdering tyrannies? Such a sweeping statement of collectivist idiocy shows that it is not just the 12 year old kiddies who need to be avoided on the internet.
