Select|Select.. Do you have a replay of him?

I just played him.. and completely forgot to save a replay. Let's just say he's good and knows how to explo.... USE everything Eldar has to his advantage. He's #1 on the ladder.. and doenst have a loss. Let me know if any of you have played him.. and if so could you post a replay...

If you want to redirect this post to somewhere else mods. Feel free to. I just thought this would be the best place to post it.

if it was the last game you played go in to your recoard folder in the DOW directory and look for the temp.rec and reaname it.

How can he be exploiting the Eldar bugs? They don't exist anymore. How exactly did he exploit?

I have a replay of me beating him in 1v1 pre patch.

This features him exploiting both F2 and plasma nades, im sure he would have exploited SC if id let him.

I would not be surprised if he's found any new exploits to cheat with.

Basically, all this guy does is play. When i saw him last night he was at 18 games (challenged him to fight, but he just said something unintelligble)

I got 3 games in last night, that's alot for me in one night.

Havn't had a chance to play him yet, but look forward to getting the chance.

It does seem he plays a shitload of games tho, way more than I can be bothered with.

I play DoW maybe an hour in the evening and I average 10 minutes per game. 6 games a night is more than enough DoW for me.
Chriss is that IG hater he wanted them to nerf everything about igs

He is an excellent player. Though he used some Eldar bugs along the way, I still have respect for his dedication and micro. Being a top warcraft player as well shows clearly in his micro, which is better than I've seen with anyone so far.

The fact that he's atm ranked 3 after the reset, proves that he can easily play eldar without bugs as well

    Korean players are so imbalanced.

Apparantly there are two selects, 1 being a faker. I have versed the faker and he just sucks.

And what you mean bout korean players being imbalanced? Is that an insult?

I believe it's a joke because Korean players just seem o be naturally better. They should be nerfed by Relic.

Oh man, I just found a replay of him vs. Ir0nclad. It's awesome, each of them is easily head and sholders above anything I've ever seen. Select|Select fights off a scout rush and a marine attack with only guardians, teching to both dark reapers and warp spiders, and gets a squad of each. Ironclad comes back from a near loss to sack multiple buildings in Select|Select's base. It's just incredible to see.

    Wow.

Now THAT is how Eldar are meant to be played. :argh:

In fact, I think he's so good that I adopted his beginning build order. I think it's a good one.

1.10, so I have no idea what's up. In fact Select makes fun of the lack of bonesong in the game

I had the misfortune to match up with him once, a fine player and though I got stomped he introduced me to overwatch. I didn't see any abusing (though this was a while ago).
Fabulous player, and from what I've seen a fabulous person.

Watching that replay has taught me a few basics.

Iron Clad, i think you was rather unfortunate there, but then again he was running those guardians all around you. I was a bit iffy about the dark reapers but he kept harassing you with guardians and let you think that you was in a superiro position only to lure you itno a trap.

Yeah he is a good player but he seemed to have a taken a generic BO and not a "Haha f2 has been nerfed ill run at ya with Banshees'"

    Although that works for me

Hes is very clever i would like to see more replays though to see wut he does on smaller maps and different armies.

    Cheers

Watching that makes me wonder what I'm not doing right ... besides EVERYTHING. Just one example, seleCT was turning his WHOLE ARMY's Fleet of Foot on and off. How does one achieve that?

After a match with him tonight Eldar Vs Eldar it is my upmost opinion that Select is actually 3 or 4 Korean guys all using some weird hack to play the game at the same time.

Watching the rep it seems that even during some of the Most heated and micro intensive battles... Massive WS squad jumping, melee, FS micro and spells... he still seems to have the calm and collective approach to build his base away from the action, cap points, and even harras my base with random squads of guardians...

So either he is incredibly good (likely) or he has figured out a way to play the game with 3 or so other friends (unlikely, but would make me feel better)

Wow. Just... wow. THIS is how this game was meant to be played! This was simply a joy to watch!

Ir0nclad - you are an excellent player. I've seen a lot of your replays. Very good stuff, you should be proud.

But heavens - I pity ANYONE who has to face this SeleCT|SeleCT fellow. Oh my. Simply incredible.

Granted, I am a little drunk right now - it's 5 am and I can't sleep (damn you Red Bull and Vodka!) but that was a fine example of what this game was meant to be. I mean, I got more enjoyment out of that game than I would have gotten out of a whole night of playing myself. Wow.

Anyone else have any other replays of his?

I'd also like to see more Ir0nclad replays - his SM is quite good, I could learn a lot from both of them! (Hint: Play more Ork, teach me how to do something other than, well, horde sluggas!)

You know that Starcraft is a sport in korea. Theres korean video clubs filled with strategy replays...its just CRAZY! Theres even guys wo commentate during the replays and there are competitions held for like 2 million bux 4 the winner!

I am a korean myself and been to korea. havent been there 4 2 years, so i dont know if this game is popualr in korea. And yes, there areHEAPS of korean hackers but its unlikely that SeleCT is 1 of them.

Anyway hes on a killing spree with 30 wins, no losses :argh: There isnt any1 whose gonna stop him! :fight:

Yep, anymore against other armies different maps???

Is Select Select 3 people actually using him at the same time in a hack??? He does seem a bit suspicious with fleet if foot but only when he does about 4 units at the same time.

    Dont think so Hatty.

If you look carefully in the midle of the battle when he is goin awayb from iron clads base you will see he fleet of foots every unit at once and then take fleet of foot off every unit at once.

Now is it just me but i though you had to fleet of foot each unit individually.

    Cheers

Top WC3 players like Select can do up to about 4 actions every second. So the mass FoF is no surprise. His current winning streak on the reset ladder is 30 - every game..

Wow I dont even play Eldar and I know this... If you select 4 squads at once.. and hit "G" (which I think is the letter for Fleet of Foot) it turns FoF on and off... for all 4 squads at once... either that or hes real quick with hotkeying his individual squads and hitting G real quick in combination... its highly possible. Frankly what I wanna see is if he could do this good with another race. Hmm highly unlikely.. otherwise he would be doing it.

To active fleet of foot on multiple units you need to select them then press F/TAB/F/TAB/F/TAB/F etc.

    or

To FoF everything off you can also use the comma

    , f , f , f, f or maybe he remaps keys. Doesnt really matter.

Given a little time to know the race - I bet he could.

Its not the race that makes the player but ... you know how it ends

Eldar and Ork are the most micro-intensive races in Dawn Of War. If he can do this well with Eldar then he could probably play SM/CSM with 1 hand tied behind his back.

I always thought that you had to do the fleet of foot one by one. But i swear it does look like all the units turn it on and off at the same time.

Ive just gone through my replay again taking notes check the time of 8 mins 30 when he switches it on to run off from Iron clads heavy bolters AND check the time of 9.05 when he turns it off. You will realise that fleet of foot is turned on and offat the same time.

Check it for yourself and forward it to those times. It just doesnt seem right to me. What do you honestly think?

Chris i think the reason he(s) plays eldar it cus of the fantastic micro skills.

Of course. Eldar are very rewarding with micro skill. If you have poor micro and try and play eldar you'll suck, but if your micro is good you'll run rings around other players.

  49. #49
If the connection is as laggy as it usually is, then a player pressing f/tab/f/tab/f/tab/f real fast could seem like it's being done all at once.

He probably also had his key buildings hotkeyed, and maybe a bonesinger or two to jump straight to them.
