    [1v1] Eldar vs SM...scout harrass..

    He took...and he held it.

    Ok, this match was drawn out but I think I lost because of what happend in the begining. He sent a good old scout over to harrass me. He dove in one of those craters and I could do shit...This scout squad WOULD NOT DIE. First it was two squads of guardians hitting his scouts. I left my third to keeping caping the point in the corner so he doesn't totally screw my resources. I then realize that's no good since he's in cover. I then send my one squad into hand to hand and keep hitting with the other. Still not dying...I send my third guardian squad over to join in...still now dying. During this battle I had to reenforce my squad in melee so they would die....Not until I got my farseer out did I get rid of that scout squad. I think those scouts would have lasted forever if it wasn't for the farseer.

    After that he had a slight head start, I think there was a point in the middle of the game where if I attacked I probably could have beaten his main force with some slight mirco but I didn't realize it till I watch the replay. Then towards then end he teched to vehicles first and if eldar don't have bright lances before that, well you're pretty much screwed.

    What I want to know is what is the best way to stop a harrass....ESPECIALLY a scout harrass in this perfect situation. And I don't want to hear teching to warp spiders first thing

    If you have any other pointers for the rest of the match they are most welcome

    before farseer's out, the best you can do is mass your guardians. But dont make 'em fight in hand to hand, you lose 9 rifles and he loses 4 max.

    Just bring out an extra guardian squad and max the ones that are out, take cover you too (why didnt you? in VoK there are lots of craters). Usually, maxed guardians are far better than scouts, so you should kill him.

    And dont worry about spending so much requisition in those guardians. Once the scout rush is finished, take your farseer and those squads, queue banshees, and go forth to his base. Guardians are good in early game if well used.

    Damn i got problems with space marines camping also...those heavy bolter deal really good damge to any anything :/
    A really good tactic is to get the lightning storm and when you cast it rush right after,they will have to reset,combine that with invisable rangers and a good strike force (dark reapers will do best vs those marines).Some plasma grenades can get you some shooting time too.

    Guards... 1 unit to go melee, another unit to shoot them.

    Don't spend much monney on guardians they r useless past the scout rush imo. Use ur bonesingers to melee scouts and kill em with ur guardians till u get ur farseer out. When u have farseer, go fror the harassing scouts, if they died or runned go to his most possible untaked LP and ae / DoT the scouts that r taking it, that s one scout squad dead. usually once u have done that he ll stop making scouts and go for marines. That s good u should have ur banshee rdy by that time, be sure to have more or at least as much banshee squad that he have marines, get all of em into melee and it s a gg. Good player ll run back and mke one turret's LP, that s very bad for u banshee cannot kill it without loosing lot of em and he ll run his marines around while turret kill banshee. Head back to middle, take CP and all u can, wait him here be sure to not be ' pulled ' by some scout harass and make antitower units (BL) or tech to vehicule. oncd u know u can klll his tower relatively easy go rush him..... adapt to his units ( Raptor or vehicule ) and u should win.
