i dont think anyone is quite cool enough for this yet...also, your thread title makes it look like you "have" ingame model screenshots!

    Yep,agree with Xen.

Making threads like this without actually having your won models ad telling others to ONLY post their finished ones is lame.

Agree as well... as soon as there are a few threads out there witn in-game shots then you can post a "round up" thread (like the master MOD thread). When I saw this I got all excited...

Did you read the guidelines? All posts are to be made in Enlish only! And, this thread is useless, IMO. There is only 1 instance of a fully textured model ingame. Look for the tutorial saying how to imporat models, finished. It has the Chaos Landraider by Tebrey

Actually 2 instances. Same thread. Yeah it's a rock but heck, it's in-game.

    Animate it now...

I'm personally stunned at how much work seems to be needed to actually animate a model in DoW. If you haven't opened the regular SM in the OE and taken a look at it you really won't know what I mean. As soon as you do, feel overwhelmed. Even things like the Strategic points have no less than 13 or so animations, not to mention the variants of the animations for each race. Some mod teams are going to be busy.

lol wish I could actually do that but I cant find the files for the models... heh any ideas?

Look in DataSrc/My_Mod/Art/EBPs/Races and Environment. These are the actual 3DS Max files. For the EBP file to open in the OE go to: DataGeneric/My_Mod/Art/EBPs/Races and Environment. Open up the OE, point it to one of these EBP files and play away.

Yeah the amount of animations neccesary is staggering, is there no way to adapt the existing ones at all? I noticed you can open all the anims in max, surely you can just add them to your own ref.max file b4 you export? I havent tried it yet I'm too busy atm

Here, this has been in my thread for a few days.

    Chaos Land Raider

I know, the texture is wonky. I'll be fixed when I get the chance. I've been working on my ai.

    General Stukov,
if you've added the mod tools the DataGeneric and DataSrc files are in the Dawn of War/Modtools folder.

    Kendo,
It would be my understanding that the animations could be referenced. Actually Relic did a lot of that themselves. For example the scouts have maybe a dozen or so animations solely their own. The rest of the scouts animations are referenced from the SM's.

To do it, I'd assume, you would have to set up your model's skeleton exactly how Relic has theirs and then reference the animations from the race you want. The easiest route would be for relic to provide their skeletons for each of their races. Then one could just put this in their own mesh, skin it (weighing the
vertices, not texturing), texturing and then put it in the OE and assign the animations to it.

I just don't expect Relic to release the skeletons, at least not right away. Technically we already have the skeleton for the SM's. Furthermore, this doesn't help the modders who are working on say Tyranids! I truly feel for those guys.

    Tebrey,
Are you also working on a Chaos Dread? I know I've heard someone mention it around here, just can't remember.

Tau Mod looks great. You wouldn't know that they weren't an official release, as far as I can tell. Great job.

tell me about it... picking the sentinal for the imperial guard as my first model to import is proving to be a pain in the ars'. game workshop may of made some very cool minitures, but getting them to work as they look on the TT game is not any easier.

    Rock on. Pun partially intended.

The Fire warriors are awsome. The Crisis suit needs work, but its only an early model. All in all, nice to see. I'm sure you can find a lot of use for the fire warrior model...

  30. #30
That was a test port just to see how the battlesuit would look in game. It's been changed since, check out the more current version.

Changes and additions are still being made to make it fit in the game better. All crits are welcomed, if you see something that needs to be changed, make sure you let me know about it

Props up to Blackfang for coding the unit into the game!

something small but in that screen shot it looks as though the battlesuit is hovering like his feet are not touching the ground?

The ONLY 'bad' thing I can say is - does the battlesuit look oranger than the other guys?

Well, that and - Careful you dont make the models already in the game look bad! [That's excluding the rock of course, that is some grade A rock, nothing could put that rock to shame]

Lookin good, maybe a bit more rounding on those aerials (on his head).

Plus, I've said it before, and I'll say it again.. A crisis suit without guns is about as appealing as a Cat without fur. I understand you guys are still working on it, but I just felt it needed saying.
