I was not aware we were excluding homosexuality... *sigh* more wasted animations....
On the note of hair, He looks pretty evil to me, and I know a thing or two about evil, since I am an American (satire). Mit hasn't finished the texture yet, and you may change your opinions when you see the final product.
Finally, all of you, all of you are stupid for conjecturing what a super-human soldier of the far-future who weilds powerful magic and is sustained by unnatural energies would look like. That includes *me* for disagreeing with you.
The Black Library contains the Black Guide to Hair Care.
If the drugged out hippy japanese guy who invented Mario had stopped to imagine a realistic world populated by flying turtles, walking mushrooms, and plumbers, something something something.
something bad.
Seriously guys... gray hair? Scars? Come *on*. That's for mere mortals. Dorky mortals.
I totally agree, the hair on that guy looks messed up, the face is great, the hair is really messed up.... it makes him look like he has a rug on his head... and hes trying to cover up his age... you should totally make him bald and make him have chaffed eyebrows, I swear! It will be hot.

Hair is good. For explanation see below:
Bald heads are homosexual. Unless the hairs have fallen out naturally.
Enough gay guys in my gym who second that opinion. The want to look like a muscular penis. Most of them do. Hairless except for eyebrows, oiled and totally URGH.
Then there are the primitive blue collar workers. Vin Diesel and the like? Yeah exactly. The ones with the tattoos, fast american or asian cars in loud colors (well educated people drive faster european cars that are black, silver or red that unfortunately cost thrice as much but have some style). The Thousand Son sorcerer shown above had millenia to educate himself. He is a nasty fellow but far from primitive!
The armed forces? Well, they don´t have much hair since it is of little use in battle. But don´t dare to bring up this lousy argument when talking about a fantasy game that is full of completely lunatic inconsistencies and lacks realism completely.
Hair is what he needs.
I agree with the hair, i think it looks ok. It does stand out a bit, but i think thats because the hair on the sides are done poorly.
What i mean by this is, the fringe looks fine, but both sides seem to be combed horizontally. However, hair naturally falls downwards, i also think that the actual hair itself needs work, alot of work. As atm it looks just plain black, and thats the reason why it stands out.
For the actual face, the eyes are awsome, i would actually develop this idea, and may i suggest you take an eye out? That would trully look awsome, perhaps replacing it with a mechanical eye. If not, then perhaps put a few more scars down his face, some boils, he looks a bit too vamperish for me.
Either way the best thing about the face is the eyes. Oh btw, can i suggest you edit the first post, and put all the pictures on there so it's easy to find, rather than searching through 31 pages to find the good stuff :P
Good to see you lads are still going, the ingame shots do look brilliant, they outshine relics efforts.
Oh my, is that Deathbunny i see coming? I sense a beheading....
I can't do more than write a big WIP into my posts..it's not done guys...
From now on we shall not post WiPs anymore. :disagree:![]()

Mit-Gas we're trying to help... it's constructive critism![]()
Why does almost everyone want them to be deformed in one way or another?
As if physical deformity is a sign of evil.
Besides, the Thousand Sons where cast out of the Imperium for trying to warn the Emperor,
they are not villains, they are fallen heroes.
They embraced Tzeentch out of necessity, and for that, they were "rewarded" with mutations.
To halt the mutations, Ahriman cast a spell, the Rubric of Ahriman.
All the Thousand Sons that had little to none psychic powers, and/or had mutations, were reduced to dust.
All others had their powers augmented, and were protected from mutations.
A member of the Thousand Sons has less risk to mutate than a Space Marine.
So please, think trough your suggestions before posting them.
Thank you
Hraefn
Some of us, (like me) have no idea about the history of the models your trying to create.
I'm just purely basing it on the models appearance. Think you need to chill out, you guys wanted constructive critism we're giving it. I'll stand by what i said, the eyes look brilliant, but the rest of it looks too plain. The hair is deffiantly the weakest part, but by the looks of it, it hasn't been mapped properly, it looks really stretched, though that might just be the angle we're looking at.
It looks like a vampire type character, if that fits the bill, then great. If not, then a little more work would need to be done to it. If you look back, i gave plenty of cc to Mit-Gas on the space marine model they were doing, and he was very grateful for the crits.

I find the idea of undeformed chaos marines, very interesting.
Doesn't mutation means also fear from chaos? So, but what about a undeformed beauty Chaoslords? That's really something that makes me affraid.
Maybe that's also the reason he isn't deformed, because beautiness is power!
Well slaneesh use this too, why not tzeench? And do we know if we see the true at all?
On a modelers point of view I can only understand, why the face most be good looking...
#471
Hmm.. a good-looking character in the Dawn of War universe seperate him from the other uber-scarred-veteran look.
I think its a good idea to keep him weirdly good looking. Its like one of those horror situations where everyone is scared of the loud, nasty looking creature when its the still, quiet one you should really look out for.
Its like the mutated marines are bad but this guy is REAL sicko
Why do you think I need to chill out?
I wasn't angry when I posted, neither am I angry now.
Maybe you need to take your own advice.
The two pictures represents extremes, the end result will most likely be something in between.
All the followers of the chaos gods mutate, how they mutate is up to their gods.
The single exception to this is the Thousand Sons, they are protected by Ahrimans spell.
BTW: Tzeentch wanted Ahriman to cast the spell, and thus be protected.
Obviousally you got a problem with people trying to give crit. In the future i will stop, i appolgise.
Physical deformations are actually a sign of evilness thanks to Hollywood. The best example that shows you how often Hollywood sells you the same shit again and again is this:
Haven you seen Golden Eye (James Bond)? Look at 006 (Bean). When he was "good", he was without any obvious physical flaw (depends if you consider bean handsome) and once we see him as "Janus" he's got an ugly scar on his face. While this emphasizes the whole Janus-story (God with two faces) it also makes us associate the "ugly" new face with evil.
Why do the "heroes" in Film Noir always have some physical blemishes? Why is the Emperor ugly as hell (Darth Vader is no good example although I still think that lucas never had 9 movies planned from start to finish like he always says) et cetera.
The only one having a problem is you.
You yourself said you knew nothing about the Thousand Sons, and when someone informs you of them, you throw around baseless accusations.
The reason I wrote the fluff is because I know that not everyone knows about the Thousand Sons.
If you want to come with good advice, learn about them, and then post your advice.
There is no shame in not knowing, only in not learning.
True Mit, but then again it's for the benefit of the viewer. Sure it might seem like an unrealisitic convention, but it helps the viewer recognise when someone is infact evil.
There are many movies that go against your claim, the most obvious one i can think of being What Lies Beneath whereby Harrison Fords character is 'evil' but is hidden until the very end of the movie.
In a game, these type of conventions can help the user define which are evil and which are good. Sure it might seem a little daft, but then if it helps the end user recognise which alignment that model is then so be it.
Haefrin, i think your going over the top. Your sounding pretty agressive, just let it be this is a forum, people have opinions that conflict with your own, if everyone agreed, life would be pretty boring. I'm not the only one to have put up some critism about the model, and like i said many times and will keep saying, critism is for the good of the end user, when i model i want people to crit it, not just reply "great" "excellent" i want to know what the problems are, and if it's good, why it's good.
To be able to criticize, one need knowledge.
Wtihout knowledge critique is worth nothing.
You can comment the quality of the picture, because it's about taste.
But if you want to comment the features, like hair or scars,
you need to learn more about the background of the Thousand Sons.
As for me being over the top.
Examine your own actions before assigning guilt to others.
"Besides, the Thousand Sons where cast out of the Imperium for trying to warn the Emperor, they are not villains, they are fallen heroes."
Have you read the most recent version of the fluff released with the Horus Heresy CCG? Magnus has been changed. He warned the Emperor hoping that he would kill Horus, allowing Magnus to take control of the Heresy. The Thousands Sons are no longer meant to be the fallen heroes, but traitors who could not deceive the Emperor.
Of course, feel free to believe whichever part of the fluff you want (I still believe in Zoats and Squats), but that is the most recent.
I don't know much about the CCG, isn't it like the novels, non-canon?
The Index Astartes has the version I wrote.
Interesting. It's official fluff by the way I believe. Now that makes them more evil it seems and takes a lot of good fluff away and makes W40k more generic and bad. It was interesting that the emperor made mistakes. Totally bad and unneeded change, I would've shot the writer.
Djeezus, you guys are talking about things that happened 10 000 years ago, no-one's certain of how the heresy exactly went.
That being said I'd like the Thousand sons to have wings on their helmets, I think that would be awesome because it's cool! Also, the wings are very Tzeentchy like because Tzeentch has wings too, you know! Also, the thousand sons should all have flamers for hand because they're the masters of magic and thus logically use fire for hands!! Oh, and another thing, because all the 'battle brothers' were reduced to dust I think they should all be able to command all the sand/dirt around them because it's their essence and they're made of it!!8!1 You should also slap some khorne berserkers in your mod because all those mages aren't fond of magic so you need Close Comabt!!!81!1
If it is true, than it could be because everything should be black and white, according to some.
Good guys should be good, and bad guys should be bad.
A shame really, as it robs the game of it's depth.

Although this is partially true for the most part, yes they are protected against mutation; however, they still have access to possessed, who are sorcerers, but can still have the daemonic mutation ability... (or speed or talons or fire)
Yes, you are right.
As a Thousand Sons player, you do have access to possessed.
But it's more about balance than anything else, doesn't fit the fluff.
On the other hand you could always say that direct possession can cause mutation,
but a non possessed Thousand Sons Marine can't mutate.
Question: sure why not, but then again who cares about the fluff?
Answer: FLUFF NAZI'S THATS WHO!
its kind of sad that the thousand sons suck the wang in 4th ed, and get wasted by berserkers... back in early third ed, I played a tzeentch/khorne combo army and it was great... could use the sons as shields till the berserkers got close then BAM! now days I cant see spending the points on thousand sons since a single berserker can do atleast as much dammage as two thousand sons.... just cant seem to stay on his feet as long (of course hes alot faster too)
Thousand sons really got the short end of the rules updating stick out of codex chaos... when you figure in how they made them slower, took away all is dust, and they still get nothing but bolters... only way I can think of laying waste to a space marine player is with one hell of a chosen squad, and alot of flamers, who use the regular thousand sons as cannon fodder.
(then again if it were up to me, abbadon would have used the planet killer on almost every planet in the universe)
I care about the background, that's the reason I like the Thousand Sons.
That, I can not argue against, they got shafted.
Well, have you heard about the Ahriman's Chosen rules set to be released in this month's White Dwarf (in all countries, I believe)?
They aren't official. Well, they are, but only when playing a specific campaign. Basically, each one has a built in Gate, and they are only 70 points. And you get 1-3 for a single HQ choice. At least, that's what I heard. I haven't gotten my White Dwarf yet.
"Djeezus, you guys are talking about things that happened 10 000 years ago, no-one's certain of how the heresy exactly went. "
Actually, now we do. GW wrote the complete history of the Horus Heresy and is releasing it through the CCG and the Horus Heresy sourcebooks.
I'm friends with a complete moron, who feels that the auto cannon and the assault cannon are still evenly matched.... yeah NO... I dont know how many of you have seen the new rules on the assault cannon but its truly disgusting if you play deathwing.... use abuncha terminators with assault cannons, dreads, and crusaders... 4 freaking shots that auto kill on 6's, and are still ap4 vs a pathetic strength 7 with 2 shots and ap 4, for the love of god will the unbalances of the game ever cease? :blah: and my friend is like "chaos get plenty of nasty stuff to make up for it" I tell him he should play night lords like me, then tell me about it, sure raptors are fun, but when they get cut down below 25% and have broken morral before they even get close to hand to hand and have to run away till they leave the game... it makes it a bit hard to kill some terminators...
No I haven't, are you sure it's in the next issue?
Would be nice to be able to take a look at them.
Sometimes it seems like GW has no idea about their own fluff.
I agree, the assault cannon is too good.
No, sorry to dissapoint you. Also, the wings are very Tzeentchy like because Tzeentch has wings too, you know!
The Lord of Change has wings, Tzeentch doesn't.
There is a picture of Tzeentch in the old books,
and he looks nothing like the Lord of Change.
I know the Ahriman's Chosen article is in the July issue for US and (I'm pretty sure) UK. I'm assuming that most or all of the other countries will get the same article at the same time.
It's good to know that they aren't completely ignoring the Thousand Sons.
Gastronanga was kidding, Hraefn.
I've seen one pic of tzeentch before GW made him into an everchanging, shapeless vortex and that thing was so ugly and strange I'm happy they chnaged it. Looked like a horror with holes in the fingers and two snakes growing out of him and a few random faces over the body if I remember correctly.
I'll try to get that White Dwarf (when is it out again?) to say if we could use anything from it for the Mod.
Yes, but a lot of people think that Tzeentch looks like a Lord of Change, since Khorne looks like a Bloodthirster.
Let them die stupid.
I think there are several things that should be mentioned.
10,000 years ago; 28,000 years from now, assuming we ever stop masturbating (perhaps when we become chafed) and build spaceships, and then stop buliding them, and then build them again.
Ugly evil; the anti-christ, allegedly the worst evil (worst because HE'S REAL! DO NOT FORSAKE THE SAVIOR! READ THE GOOD BOOK! FOR HIS JUDGEMENT SHALL COME!!!), is reputed to be handsome and charismatic. Among other things. He's not George Bush. I honestly don't know where people get htat idea; it is patentedly obsurd. No seriously. It is.
So anyway, this guy can be evil and also good looking. Vampires are pretty much as evil as it gets, and as someone said, he looks vampy, so enough babbling.
I think the attitude about shaved heads is a direct assault on black basketball players; making anyone who's suggesting a bald head for this termie a racist. A dirty filthy racist.
Unlike some mods (that include horses--I'm not naming any names...steel legion), we are not nazis, and see all people as equal in the eye of God. I suggest you read the bible instead of forcing your twisted bald-black-darkness-evil morality on the world.
Also, to a certain degree on our own forum, but ESPECIALLY here, we're not looking for criticism unless you happen to be extremely intelligent (lets just assume that extremely is always your IQ + 1). There's more than one way to skin a cat, which means a terminator with hair will be just as good as a terminator who shaves his balls in full view of the enemy--assuming it's executed well.
Finally, I'm offended by all the gay-bashing in this thread. Gay people prefer handsome characters with a thick mane of glorious hair, not bald penis-people. In fact, if you are a lesbian, you strive to avoid people who look like giant penises.
I feel this fact has been overlooked.
Finally, and I don't mean this as an insult, you are all so fucking stupid it is beyond the belief of a crack addict who's seen and spoken to the Lord God Himself while high on 2 tabs of acid and suffering from the delirium associated with a malarial fever.
Which is why we love you.
can you post a scan of tzeen? and the other chaos gods themselves?
btw what weapons will the dread be able to have? autocannon i hope
death, them mods are gona yell at ya LOL. funny shir nontheless
I must restrain myself from clarifying what deathbunny just said unless a few people post after me and no one acknowledges the fact they understand what he's talking about and explain it for me.
He pretty much said that our termie has black hair. Deal with it.
Some if not all of the comments were constructive.
If one wishes to receive only positive feedback, one should not post in a public forum.(I felt my own and some other observations were fair and constructive).
Could someone please, maybe the man? himself, explain Deathbunnys mindset to me , as it appears he has mental tourettes syndrome.Or maybe simply craves attention.
Anywho...as I said earlier..nice work Mit Gas,he now exudes evil, whilst still appearing suave and charming.
is he gonna have a ponytail?
