Have you guys heard of scholar.google.com?

I just stumbled upon it the other day. It's a variant of the google search engine for, well, scholars I guess, still in the beta stage.
For those of you who are looking for science info or are researching facts for papers or presentations, this looks like a dream. I'm not sure what exactly it does, maybe it confines the search to university sites, but I entered a few random search strings and it came up surprisingly free of useless "BUY ELECTRODYNAMICS ON EBAY AND SAVE THREE PERCENT" type of links.
Has anyone used this before? Or has everyone been using it for ages and I'm only the last one on the intarweb to find it, as usual?

Yep, launched like a month ago IIRC.

A much better Google URL, however, is http://google.co.ck/

Interesting, except for the fact that I got this as my first search result...

"The influence of the Battle of Jutland on plastic surgery."

I searched for "flying cows", look at the first link.
"the Effects of Low-Flying Aircraft on Endocrinological and Physiological Parameters in Pregnant Cows - Web Search
    D Beyer - Cited by 1"

Best google start page is most certainly http://www.google.com/firefox?client...en-US:official

JAL, i'd imagine that's related to the camouflaging of war injuries, both from the Battle of Jutland and WWI as a whole. nothing spurs on progress like necessity.

Actually, it did have some interesting information on how Jutland spurred better reconstruction techniques, but I found it amusing/odd that this was the very first link, and that the next 3 were complete trash.

I say this site is for the "Mentally Gifted"

Crystal Sword = Two concomitant polymorphs and two isomorphous forms with different chemical compositions.

Yup.. been using for a few weeks nown after a college friend turned me onto it.. I would of thought you guys had seen it before now.. otherwise I would have said something.. It's been really really useful for well.. useful info.. not the constant ad spammage and questionable site returns that the normal google has turned into..

    example..

    Google.com..
    http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...nami+mechanics

    Scholars.google.com..
    http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl...cs&btnG=Search
