    CPU Utilisation @ Maximum

    Hello everybody,

When i start Warhammer, i do a "ALT + ESCAPE", to view CPU utilisation.

    I am @ 95 - 99 %. My config is :

    Barton 2800+
    1 Go Dual DDR
    160 Go SATA
    Radeon 9700 pro

Also, i ask a friend to test the same thing. He has the same utilisation.

Does a tip exists for this problem ?

    THX

    See u soon

Have you done all the standard things? Virus scan, AdWare/Crapware (Adaware, Spybot Searth and Destroy), etc?
    All your drivers are updated?
You've got the game all patched up, right?
What OS are you running? XP?

It's not uncommon for a game, when starting up, to use a lot of processor power just setting everything up.

Uhm... that is normal? DoW is very taxing on your system, it is entirely normal for it to consume your full CPU power. I got the same thing, and my CPU is even faster than yours.

Very normal for this to happen in a game. Game's use busy loops with PeekMessage. This means they don't stop and wait for an event to happen before continuing (like a normal windows app). Now a really interesting test is to run enable showing kernel times. The kernel times are usually a good indication of how well your sound card and video card handle the game provided the game has an upper limit on frame rate.
