    both things are important, firepower to pierce enemy armour and mobility to be a hard target, but "Jims" only have a slight advantage on speed an maneubrabiliity, both due to an almost complete lack of body armour. in my opinion zeon suits were more balanced, and gims were only a bit superior to zaku units, but at that state of the war, EFSF only sent a swarm of gm and capships, numbers made it, even at a high cost of feddy lives.

    Dont know Mk V, but that smells to script power, man

    That just how war works.
    You are correct that below average script plagues the recent gundam series. (How many times can Kiro Yamato dies??)
    That's why people keeps saying UC is heaps better than Seed Destiny and others. For the record, the good guys can and did lose in a fair few instances, like gundam F91 or the Flashing Halfaway (XI Gundam)

    Anyway. Gundam series is not just about Sci-Fi stories, but more importantly the artwork behind it.

    kou that MS from sicksaddave's link are called sentinnel gundam (S gundam) it was never shown in anime but from a novel. if u know what blue destiny is, that MS has (A.L.I.C.E) system similar to what BD-1, BD-2, BD-3 have. Oh and the timeline for that suit is followed closely after or near the end of gundam ZZ.

    btw ak, nice screenies..the rx-78 with beam rifle and hyper bazooka looked really dangerous, just like it was in A Boa Qu.

    PS - is it just me or if u look closer to the 3rd screenies at the NT-1....its left hand actually has the 100mm gun pod open now THATS SEKSI

    A little off-universe: In Gundam X episode 26, the featured "foe of the day" piloted a Mobile Suit that was completely stripped of any armor or armament except for a single beam knife. Although it was shown later to be incredibly vulnerable to CIWS (autocannon) fire, it nearly destroyed the Double X, which was superior both in firepower and armor. Great armor and guns mean very little if you can't hit your opponent; the only problem for GMs (like the Sherman tanks) was that their opponents had little trouble hitting them.

    Speaking of Cosmic Era Gundam, IF they decide to do another one, they had better use a different director and screenwriters...

    ps. I agree with the CE issue. Fukuda and his wife SUCKS in producing Gundam series, especially after I'd followed GSD.

    why buy a gundam FIX when u can build a more beautiful looking and cooler looking MG grade altho i dun recall seeing deep striker for MG grade, but i do have the EX-S Gundam MG grade which is very SEKSI

    Seed was a good serie, destiny destroyed what seed made, but I think that if they made a gundam CE series with "the cockpit" stile, it would just ROCK, but for that you need Leiji matsumoto :P

    Dyson: thats the thing the only gundam game that was played in a cockpit view was DC's 0079: Rise from the Ash...other than that, there are no more gundam game that was made that way. Unless u count Lost War Chronicle's change of view is too, but i wouldnt count that one

    no, shrimpcraft, I was talking about anime series "the cokpit" are short stories based in real and fiction WWII cases made by Leiji Matsumoto, creator of "Captain Harlock" among others, and I thought that making a gundam show using that narrative stile, would be just amazing, although it is against Bandai politics of launching thousands of mecha toys

    many doms, many zakus, many gelgoogs, many variants, most of them never used while beauties like the kaempfer, bawoo, jagd doga are not included and if they are not added, I would prefer to have less units, so I can say the difference and add them to their proper role quickly

    I would be good to see just Zakus in the first stages of the game instead fighters, bazooka(anti ms-capship), rifle(antifighter), and hero zaku(black tristar), heavy MS like dom and gelgoog later with a hero unit each one, and later add differente units here and there, because I have never used fighters or Zaku I.

    and please, add Neue Ziel instead the bigro.

    they could create a gametype like the Star Wars Warlords mod which has Build Restriction eras (i.e. in the Warlords mod they have eras that deetermine which ships you can build according to the era, like the Return of the Jedi era). This mod could do like early OYW, Mid-Late OYW, 0080 or 0083 Operation Stardust

    Well IMO i think the way zeon starts is perfectly fine already...look at it this way zeon gets to have MS as corvettes be4 feddies already :P and those zaku II and zaku I are a big advantage over the sabrefish and ball already

    if u've played single player against 2 expert cpus...u would be grateful to have those zaku I & II cause their subsys buildtime is faster than the MS subsys so u can crank out units first be4 u do other upgrades cause most of the time the cpu will come in with swarms of fighters and bombers already.

    oh btw guys do u remember there used to be a fighter mod where all the fighters actually does turns and stuff so the dogfights look more realistic? i couldnt find that mod anymore

    However, I think the geometry may need a bit of modifications, you can see that the official model has a little longer front MS bays, smaller bridge and a longer centre body

    yea lol i agree with dave here white base's bridge area looked a little too....narrow lol no wonder why it looked so awkward in a way :P

    now, it'll be kewl if he made the particle cannons on the side as an upgrade like albion and they open up just like the anime when firing XD

    just my $0.02, but u see there are 3 lines separating the blocks on the bridge area? now if the took out the outside one (the most narrow) WB wont look as awkward :P

    Uhm I was wondering if anyone could help me please.

    I start the Gundam Mod and try to do a skirmish vs the computer but when the loading screen gets to LoadingScarScript , the program just shuts down , am I the only one with this problem and would anyone know how to fix this ?

    edit the .bat file that you get from the zip package which starts the mod, open notepad and add -luatrace at the end.

    run HW2 and start skirmish, after it crash, go to the release directory and copy HW2.log, post the content on the forum, I will see whether I can help you or not.

    SCAR error??!! This shouldn't happen unless the file is inside the SCAR folder
    (if you put the scar file in the folder with you do -overrideBigfile, it will crash the mod for some weird reason)

    My only suggestions are :

    number 1
    Check whether you have installed english.big and perhaps you remove other "goodies" you modifed earlier(if the engish.big fix doesn't work. I know using the -mod cmd meant to bypass any previous modifications)

    I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, and i'll say this now: dont take this too seriously

    I was thinking, what if there could be some factions from some of the AU's added to this mod, like like Oz or Zaft and suchlike.

    Just want to know what other people think is all

    oh, and if anyone is gonna go all fanboy on me about it, im gonna say right now i haven't seen a single gundam series I didnt like

    It the team were so willing to change the time range, I think it would be more feasible to do 'factions' from Zeta and Double Zeta instead. But that would mean adding a whole lot more units to match the faction, such as the Titans, AEUG, Neo Zion, and the like Also, that would increase the overall lethalness of the units involved. Pit the Bygro against say, a Messala, and it should be no contest. I think that would have to be it's own separate mod all together. Almost like AEUG vs Titans, Axis vs Feds, you'd kinda get the idea. The early tech trees would have similar units, but the higher tech units would be faction specific. AEUG with the Zeta, Hyaku Shiki, Titans with the Messala, Asshimar, Bound Docs, Axis with the Qubeley, and Gazas, so on and so forth.

    Well, to be honest I was just thinking it would be cool to see loads of different factions from different gundam series battling it out, mostly because I wanted to know how a fight between the EFSF and Oz would be, but still :P

    Well, this is not a unit mod, so many factions would be good, but they are too different. The mods direction is great as it is now, from 0079 to 0083, just the best period in UC, and maybe a seed mod... yes, seed units are just too cool, but as that, hero units in seed are just too powerful, a seede mod, based in grunt units would be the best, and with aegis, strike, blitz... gundams as herounits, no freedom, no justice, not Hiak... ejem! akatsuki, too unbalancing.

    Not to mention that a CE mood would be a totally new mod to start from 0% and i dont think AK wants that

    The bad side is if someone makes a CE mod ill feel sorry for those pseudo feddis facing GINNs, CGUEs, even with Daggers... Geez, those things are like trash cans compared to GUAIZs, well, the nuke ones not LOL

    I have to pass AK's standard to proceed further. Afterall, we want to produce the best quality mod instead of some dodgy job. Therefore, constructive comments are much appreciated.

    Finally, please do not be unreasonable on era selection. It took the gundam team 4 years to get to this stage. They work is truly legendary, seriously, how many other mods you've seen had gone in such depth since the entire computer gaming history? Very few gundam series actually qualify for good RTS gamming. (heavily skewed on hero units, even Gundam Z is very merginal unless you break titan into earth and jupitar sect. You have to COUNT grunt, support, assult, high speed units etc) Hero heavy series such as SEED and Wing is just next to impossible to incorporate. It will end up like the starcraft mod, very confusing and terribly unbalanced. (nice graphics, however)

    I am a bit surprise that AK and Glock didn't create their own small number of MSVs, consider it would be really cool if bandai willing take up the design, making plastic models, due to the mod....(wishful thinking)

    Well... as I said, CE mod could be playable if someone made it, just getting rid of those easycryuberheros and focus on grunts with two or three gero units as aegis, blitz, duel, strike, CGUE (I love that MS) the bad side is that ZAFT has all the heros XD all the coolness

    Agreed with Dyson. CE mod is possible i mean why not just tone down on the hero units stats and make only possible to build one at a time only? i mean even tho i'm a UC fan too, but seed will also be very interesting to be played in hw2. Consider buster, aegis, etcetc same values as all the zeon hero units OR even same lvl as GM sniper, while freedom and justice has the stats equivalent of gp01 and 02. however, in the end, we have to see whos willing the step up and do the mod cause i no AK and glock wont (and i will agree with them in that part) cause keeping it within UC era is fun enough to see all the old skool units duking out. (however, it will be nice to see them extending the centuries into zeta or even up to CCA)

    BUT i strongly disagree on clashing other eras together because it will so imbalance the sides or factions due to difference wpns output and functionalities. i mean if u wanna clash stuff togather, go play super robots war :P OR make a mod urself with all the giant/nimble mechs together and see how they duke it out

    Well, "first" CE gundams are more than enough for a fun and balanced mod, because a freedom unit just would rampage among enemy units with its multiple lasers, killing squads of enemies in no time, and other gundams like reys or Shins... well, just too strong Vs grunts

    I disagree too with merging different universes or timelines, maybe not for balancing issues but for stetic and game feeling, chars zaku vs wing zero is not only a suicide but just... strange dont U think so? you like wing zero? perfect, make a mod and face him Vs loads of Leos (ugliest mech ever seen)

    UC 0079-0083 is fine enough. Merging gundam wing or gundam seed will just screw everything up. The Freedom Strike gundam will just be like the gp02a's nuke; it'll destroy everything with no challenge. Lets jus wait for 3.0 to come out.
