    I don't think the GP02 should have nukes. I don't like the idea of having a weapon that's one shot, takes a fair bit of time to reload (say 1-2 mins since it's so strong) and rely on the vulcan's on the head for fighting corvettes, other MS's etc..

    I don't think having the Birmingham is a problem. Seeing as i can easily get 3-4 GP02's (and lots of other anti-capital ship MS) to completely own it and any other Capital ship out there.
    I just came back from playing and i must say, seeing 4 GP02's take out a Mothership in 2-3 secs is damn sweet. Goodbye to the Birmingham =P

    From what I saw when using the Birmingham, in order for ALL of it's cannon's to deal the 48000 points of damage, it has to be at medium range (only forward cannon's provide long range attack). The Birmingham would have to get closer to the target in order for the rear cannon's to hit it, in addition to the forward cannon's.

    Most players would have their MS own the thing before it could wield it's full power

    One thing i'd love to see, as i mentioned before, are Mobile Armors (Dendrobium/Neue Ziel). But i'm quite sure they'll never be added to this. 'Tis a shame. They'd look so damn cool.
    Hmmm MAYBE, if we bug the mod creator's enough, they'll yield and add them??? <evil grin>...eheheheheh

    I hate to be bitchy but is there another mirror out there where i can get it?

    Using the Uni T1 cable i cant get it any faster the 4 Kps yes thats K....

    This leads to low conectivity disconnect after about half way... 3 time already (And thats 3 hours of me sitting at a computer each time...)

    You know, I should just shut up but I'll just say it, I don't play online because of too many disconnections and failed connections due to some crazy reason so I can go about modding mods as much as I want and I feel like giving the GP02 a nuke (but how in the world can I give it a huge explosion!?)

    So far so good. I did most of it last night. I just have to finish up the last of the research tree (Don't worry I did all the ships already in the ships file) and I will be ready to pack it up and find a host for it.

    I not only fixed the spelling and grammar but I took out and changed some things. I believe it is more comprehendable this way and now the names fit onscreen instead of running off.

    Now I just need to figure out how to pack it into a BIG file. Shouldn't be hard since I figured out how to unpack it

    @ Pvt. Parts: Yeah. I have been following the mod since it started on UT 2k4.

    [Edit] Alright All done and compiled into the BIG.

    Now to go test it out (Cannot find jump drive I have to use a floppy ).

    [Edit 2] Found my jump drive where I keep my floppies... Where are my floppies though?

    [Edit 3] For some reason my English.big crashes the game when it tries to load into the cut scene. I even tried using it unextracted. That didn't work either.

    I'm using unfufu's unfBig program. Is there a better compiling program to use?

    I suppose Spookey is better,even a rockie like me can use it to pack and unpack things ,and it can also unpack files from DOW.
    And I prefer youto post the unpacked files here.

    I could only extract with it (How I got the files out in the first place).

    Do you think we could torrent this mod since people seem to having problems downloading it?

    I could set it up on my embedded tracker if need be.

    With regards to the translations, are you shortening most or all of the names that get cut off? I hope so, cause i sorta find it annoying that i can't see the quantity i'm producing for a unit.

    gawd what a pain in the arse > i played against 5 cpu on hard with mixed hiigarian and vagyr teams and it me 6 straight hrs just to beat it in the "0079-0083-02" map

    i was playing on zeon and had no problem holding out with only one mine field and plenty of ms-05 and ms-06A (FLAW: btw if u guys ever play against cpus with zeon, build only and i mean ONLY light ms and platforms cause hiigarian and vagyr ships wont recognize those as capital ships or frigates so they wont get their arse missile or ion raped...i know zaku R2 are great cappy killer with the bazooka...but its better if u rather buy more hero unit and hold it out that way) and only used char's customized dom and johnny raiden's geloog and 3 gp-02 to go kill =/. took quite a while to kill all of them (or should i say holding it out against the almost no infinite BC and dessy and fighter rapage. dun even tell me go try building more refinery and res collector to other resource places cause they will just get swarmed by the massive fleet of bombers/fighters and cap ships even with a whole bunch of anti-caps ms and anti-fighter ms =( but i still held it out and just sent a few hero MS out to kill cap ship one by one =D so with the first 4 hrs i've been holding off all 5v1 attacks and my comp lagged so bad cause i have so much debris around me ahhahahaha. the last 2 hrs was pretty much hunting for every single cap ships, sy and carrier in all those STUPID resource places ~_~ end result are absolutely lovely tho =) i built 202 units and lost 176...but i killed 2091 ships. OH one thing i forgotten to mention =/ how come zeon dun get capture units while feddies can??

    i also tried feddies against 5 cpus on hard too....one thing i gotta say is that using the feddies u might wanna just skip building MS from ur Mothership and build it from ur carrier while ur Mothership researches the super buffed battleship thing that costs 12k cause its virtually impossible to use ur RGM-79GS just to hold off the caps due to they count as frigs so they get missile and ion raped =/ so yea like zakus and GM they will be cannon fodders. let cpu caps target them while ur battleship or hero units do the rest XDD


    few things to improve next time:
    1.definitely if u can get the AI going cause i think everyone in here love to see some ms to ms battle =)
    2.if possible, like everyone said here, make gp02 shoot atomic bazooka and not the super charged ion cannon(s). (dun worry, i'm not asking for a beam sabre next time =P) anyone possible way to mod hw2 with missile splash damage? i mean i havent really seen a hw2 mod that has splash dmg =/
    3.zeon needs a capture unit/ship...it wont be fair if only feddies have them =(
    4.zeon needs a light ms to be anti-cap....i mean since feddies gets the RGM-79GS (minimum anti-fighter and big time anti-cap) right after they build the ms facility which gave them immense advantage if they are to rush and attack zeon team when zeon only gets ms-05 and ms-06 which are only for anti-corvette and anti-fighter. my suggestion would be to have ms-05 change to a shotgun instead of the machine gun like what u see in zeonic front and have ms-06A have a bazooba so u can at least make it a TARD fair.
    5. dom and geloog are a bit too weak for their type =/ i know dom got insane range and crazy dmg on a cap ship with its bazooka....but it just stays there and for a price of 1800 and get shot down quite easily, i would rather spend twice as much to get the char's dom with 50x better survivability and lethality...geloog should be at least as good as GM sniper II cause GM sniper II on feddies side are pretty much Gundam and its cheap (for its capability) and deadly. however, in the zeon side geloog are like cannon fodder with a super high price tag (not to mention dom tropen) =/
    6. maybe have zeon light ms unit have a team of 3 to make a small unit? same thing as RGM-79GS and RGM-79N? 2 is kinda weird cause usually 3 MS form a small unit.

    but other than those, GREAT MOD! i'm enjoying every bit of it when being cornered by 5 hard cpus and watch my MS triumph! XD keep up the awsome work and hope to see v3.0 in the future!




    PS-i'll add more later if i find things that are weird =D
    PPS-btw nice choice of opening! i dun remember the name but its one of my favorite gundam game for dreamcast (i fell in love of GM because of that game) =P

    All of the federation's names have been shortened drastically. All of the "Mobile Suit" text at the beggining has been taken off. I have kept the model number and unit name though. For example The GM Custom would be the "RGM-79N GM Custom" instead of the dreadfully redundant "Mobile Suit RGM-79N GM Custom".

    I have edited research names drastically as well. For example "Development of Basic technolodgy of Mobile Suit" has been changed to "Basic Mobile Suit Design".

    Research Descriptions have been edited to be more fluid sounding and all around spiffier. For example, "Special designs" for Ace Pilots are now called "Fine Tuning". Here is an example of a heavily edited research description for the Commander Zaku II...

    Commander MS Tuning
    Description: This stronger suit is obtained by Adding a Tactical Information Collection system so team commanders can issue more effective orders and fine tuning the suits performance to the strengths of the pilot.

    But I am still having drastic problems with compiling a BIG file. The one program I found that compiles what I need crashes HW2.

    Dr4900n: Good stuff. If it were me, I'd call "Special Design's" = "Custom Design's". 'Cause well it IS a custom job by the Ace pilots. But "Fine Tuning" is acceptable.

    Shrimpcraft: One thing i'd like to see most in the mod is for some of the more advance tech development/upgrades to be cheaper. Quite a few are 1800-3000. And that just takes time. Hehe i want those custom Gelgoogs and the GP02 a little faster

    I only play FFA for the game. I don't fancy the idea of being completely overwhelmed with sheer numbers. My early game isn't that fast. But once i got the cash flowin' and the upgrades done, i'm pissin' out MS's like no tomorrow =D

    With regards to the opening song and background, i was hoping that it would alternate between v1.0 and v2.0's.
    I like both songs that was used! ^_^

    Alright. It's all done. I found a way to create a BIG file that works.

    Everything is ready to go.

    There are still some run offs. All I could find were Zeon's Ace Pilot suits. To somewhat fix this instead of calling a suit the "XX-XXS Something Custom: Pilot name" I decided to take the "Custom" part out. It would have been fine, but Char's name was cut off at the "a". Johnny and Anavel showed up fine (With thier last names cut off however).

    Credit goes out to the original mod maker (Ak47_TZJ) and original translator (Milaoshu04 I believe?). I could have done it without him as my OS displays Chinese perfectly fine and I could have inserted numbers, ran the game, and then see what went where. But that would have taken forever and a day.

    Just an fyi to those translating/editing the english.big
    - Shield is spelt wrong for any unit that carries one. (ie: spelt "Sheild")
    - And i only saw one small typo. In the description for GP02 research, the word "troops" was spelt with only 1 "O" (ie: was spelt, "trops")

    Other then those, i didn't see any other error. Good Stuff.

    Well I think I'll add a bit to that. This might be a matter of semantics, but the Dom Tropen is not a space unit. It's name specifically says that it's used in Tropical conditions, it's a land use MS. So I'd say it'd still be a Rick Dom.

    As well, I don't think you can change it, but it should say 'Sieg Zeon' on the backpacks of the Zakus, not Zick Zeon.

    That's all I can really think of right now.

    yea thats true some of the upgrades are a bit too expensive =/ however, i think u can still bear with it ad get an awsome game going =P

    u know, playing FFA is no fun with 5 cpu even on expert cause u can pretty much pwn anyone of them no prob when u got like a MS can take out 8 squadrons of fighters and bombers, or MS that does massive damage even on BC with one hit =/ so not much of a challenge that way ~_~ u gotta challenge urself and get overwhelm but sheer numbers with all cpus combined! somtimes when i play cpus using feddies i would just use GMs to attack/defend and not a single gundam or GM sniper...if u try that it adds a whole new level of difficulty =) but when i'm playing zeon....i would love to be to overcome sheer numbers...just like 0079 with the almost unlimited resource feddies and the limited zeon =P GO ME!!!! XDD

    btw anyone wanna gather up and have like a 6 ppl online FFA battle =P i wanna see some ms vs ms battles =S

    EDIT: i forgotten to mention, gato's geloog seemed to be a little too 'weak' compare to other hero units....IMO its even weaker than the regular geloog units u can build

    1: 下載這個MOD. 下完後得到"星辰回憶錄RAR"文件.

    2: 解壓縮你下載的這個文件後,點擊進入"星辰回憶錄"的目錄裡會看到DATA文件夾.將這個DATA文件夾整個復制到你的<家園2>安裝目錄下,復蓋原文件.比如:你的<家園2>安裝在D:/Homeworld2目錄下.那麼你打開Homeworld2目錄後,把DATA文件夾復制進來. 好了.到這裡其實你已經安裝完成了 別急~~先進入DATA文件夾,讓我們來安裝快捷方式.

    3: 進入DATA文件夾,你會看到有一個"GUNDAM_MOD2.0.bat"文件.把這個文件鼠標左健點一下,然後按右鍵選擇"剪切"! 退出DATA文件夾進入Bin文件夾下的/Release文件夾.然後按"鼠標右鍵"選擇"粘貼". 這樣,我們就把"GUNDAM_MOD2.0.bat"文件移動到Bin文件夾下了. 那麼現在雙擊一下"GUNDAM_MOD2.0.bat"文件,HOHO~~~可以開始游戲了 簡單吧.

    4: 不過為了以後的方便,建議把"GUNDAM_MOD2.0.bat"這個文件發送快捷方式到桌面,這樣以後要進游戲的話,在電腦的桌面雙擊這個快捷方式就可以了.

    5: 今回的MOD為了讓所有的HW2同好者都能夠玩到,(包括外國的朋&#21451 我是准備了2份語言文件的.既是簡體中文和英文2個版本.剛才的安裝過程默認是裝入簡體中文版.如果是外國 的朋友,或是希望能玩到英文版的朋友.那麼請打開DATA文件夾.你會看到有個叫"英文版English version"的文件夾.雙擊進入後,看到裡面有一個叫English.big的文件.將他復制到DATA文件夾裡,復蓋 原文件.這樣進到游戲裡,游戲就是英文版的.想恢復中文的話安裝方法同樣.英文的English.big文 件是由家園官方論壇的"米老鼠"同志幫助制作的.在此要感謝他~~~

    6: 如果你不想玩這個MOD,想玩原來的版本,你隻需要點擊原來"家園2"的快捷方式就可以了.因為這個MOD並沒有改變原來游戲的任何程序.隻是在原來游戲的基礎上增加了新的內容 而以.所以他可是很環保的綠色軟件哦

    下面大概說一下這個MOD的新特性和我個人此時的感想.

    這個MOD做到2.0版已經快有1年的時間了.也許這對大家來說並不是很長的時間.但是對於我來說.真的是 很漫長的時間.因為這一年,我的全部業余時間都用在了這個上面,為了這個MOD實在付出了很多很多.... ...所以,現在這個MOD就要發布了,我現在的心情真的很激動.....不知道用什麼語言來形容.我隻能 說:謝謝大家一直對我的鼓勵和支持.真的很謝謝大家.沒有你們的支持,也許我早就放棄這個MOD的制作了. 在我制作這個游戲期間,很多朋友給我發來了電郵,信中熱情的鼓勵一直都在激勵著我......你們的鼓勵就 是我的動力......

    這個2.0版本和半年前的1.0版本有著很大的不同.裡面除了新增加了"吉恩"軍團外,原來的聯邦軍也和1.0版裡的大不一樣了.所有的模型都是重新制作過的.全新的科技樹 , 全新的機體MS, 全新的隱藏機體, 全新的戰艦, 全新的地圖, 音樂..開機畫面......總之,什麼都是全新的.希望也能給大家帶來全新的感覺,全新的感 受.

    唯一令人遺憾的是:AI文件始終沒有能夠完成..........我嘗試做了很多個版本的AI文件,但是都 不能令我感到滿意.本來這次發布是想等到AI文件完成後再發布的.可是現在AI文件根本就不知道什麼時候能 夠完成.....想來想去,還是先把做好的先發布出來,讓大家先玩著,以後有條件再升級也不遲.所以現在如 果在游戲裡的人機對戰中把2個新族設成"電腦"的話,他們是不會自己發展的.另外就是這個隻是一個MOD,所以並沒有做新的劇情.所以玩家隻能在人機對戰 或是聯機對戰中玩到這款新游戲.

    這個MOD的聯機方面完全沒有任何問題.我已經在我自己的局域網上通過無數次的測試了.但是需要說明的是, 大家在聯機之前,一定要把HW2這個游戲先升級到1.1版本.這樣才能夠用局域網或IP直聯的方式進行聯機 對戰.1.0版本的HW2是不支持MOD聯機的.強烈建議有條件的朋友用聯機對戰的方式來玩這個MOD,這 可是非常快樂的一件事.最多可以同時6人進行聯機.

    游戲裡有一些隱藏的要束.這些是需要玩家自己摸索的.在這裡我就先賣個官子 大家自己去找吧~~~ ^_^ 其實很簡單的.

    最後要說的是:為了不讓我這一年的時間白費,也是希望制作這款MOD能對我有所收益.現在我決定整體打包出 售:這款MOD的原始制作文件.包擴50個用"MAYA"制作出來的3D模型文件 ,貼圖文件, 開放的DATA環境, (購買的話,還可以付送這款游戲的全部開發工具,最初的游戲設定圖集,游戲內用的模型3視圖等.)請有興趣 的朋友聯系我. 我的電郵是:ak4700001cn@yahoo.com.cn.

    Haha Pvt Parts, I specifically changed troops to trops because I thought it was wrong (It was very late).

    I also did not notice Shield was spelt wrong at all. And it's in the files quite a bit as well.

    It is a Dom Troppen. I know it is wrong. I didn't want to change it, but I might as well

    [Edit] Shield was only mispelt in 2 places out of the 10 someodd times it shows up

    Fixing and reuploading ... new version up in ~5 minutes

    [Edit2] All done. I decided to not change the Troppen's name. It's modeled and equiped as a toppen, take it up with the mod maker if you have a problem

    Shrimpcraft: well the reason why i play FFA cause a) it IS easier (I'm not that good) and b) i like using the Gundam types. GM's, in my eyes, suck ca ca poo poo.
    Sure it's easy like heck but still pretty fun. Plus i like to save up as much as possible and have the largest fleet i can get (before I get bored of waiting for them to be produced).
    Plus, i just don't like using the fighters/bombers. It doesn't feel Gundam'ish. If anything, i'd *gasp* use GM's instead of them =\

    Question: What tools did you use to extract and recompile the english.big files? I may want to do some custom editing myself since some of the naming is a little quirky to me (What can i say? I'm picky ^_^;; )

    Get the Relic Developers Kit from the RDN.

    The program "Mod Packager" was what I used to compile the BIG's.

    Spooky's Big extractor is what I used to extract them.

    Bugger it. I downloaded the Dev Kit from RDN and BigX. Couldn't get either to work. I search through other forums to get help but none of the threads had anything useful.

    I have high speed internet and the mod is taking a long ass time to download, it's downloading at dial up speed, and i don't know why. Is this happening to any one else? Please tell if that is happening to you.

    it's a nuke bazooka. one shot from it blows up like 2/3 of the entire federation fleet at solomon.

    Very correct there Dedalus.

    It is only (And I mean only) a nuclear warhead delivery bazzoka.

    After playing my translation there are still some problems with semantics and a spelling mistake (Good going PvtParts you found the trops but missed the aer 4 words after it). I also confused the GP02A research and unit description.

    I'll fix it and reupload it to rapidshare (or any other site you can suggest).

    ino its a nuke bazooka, but in Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space it has a beam bazooka EQUIPPED with the nuke. But the one in the mod, only shoots regular rockets and that huge beam (nuke replacement).

    THis mod is very great but some things that are the slightest bit off. The Dolos class cruiser has a launch bay capacity of only 20 (as opposed to the real number which is more like 180)
    The Chivvay carrier only suports 5 but it can support 8 regular sized ms. the musai can support 3 by itself but with the komusai transport up to 5, not sure about the gwazine tho

    These are small but to me they make a diff so i changed them on my comp, as well as the unit cap, speeds, formations, etc

    But just for ease of my life and interests sake I have constantly been trying to make the chivvay able to build heavy mobile suits but alas i have failed

    Also im doing sum research on how to cross build ships (ex:building esfs ships with the zeon side)

    Try giving it the Fleet Command module and the Heavy MS Facility.

    The Dolos has a real MS capacity of 200.

    But you cannot shove more then 30 into it with the normal unit cap set on high.

    Yea i gave it the ability to build all the ships but i cant figure out how to add buildable modules

    and my unit cap is 1000 so no worries

    Kou Uraki: I actually like the Mega Beam Cannon that the GP02 has in the mod. If it were a nuke that had a huge blast radius and does enormous amounts of damage, then one would think that the reload time would be long. And that would make a boring and bad use of the kick ass GP02 MS (imo)

    Dr4900n: Actually i did see a bunch of other typo's but i didn't want to sound like a picky little bitch that complains about: "OH-NO!!!-You-didn't-punctuate-that-sentence-right-or-you-didn't-dot-your-I's-and-crossed-your-T's"

    <start nit-pick mode> Oh there is one typo that has been bothering me. When you research "High Performance Upgrade" (so you can get RX-78), it is spelt "Peoformance".

    I also underestimated the usefulness of the interceptor's/bombers etc.
    I started using them when i changed the game from FFA to 4 vs 2. They swarmed my butt but those fighters i built saved me. It was tough but i prevailed. Currently the AI is set to standard. I'll probably bump it up to hard later on when i'm more comfortable with using fighters

    Beam cannon is good enough. But if nukes were in the mod, then it should be a researchable option to the beam cannon (ie: you can have 1 GP02 with the beam cannon and another with the nuke)

    You should care about the reload time if nukes were introduced into the game. Cause the game would be horribly imbalanced if you could shoot off 1 a sec. And what fun would that be?

    Problems with goving the GP 02 a nuck

    1) It only had ONE nuck, it was a one shot weapon. so no reload time

    2) Overkill, anything within, say 2 KM should be destoyed, damage up to about 10Km.

    3) Ballance, its like the seige cannon out of cata.

    u know, that research idea is brilliant for the GP02a's nuke. Yes, there should only be 1 available, and after it uses the nuke, it should just go back to that mega particle beam it has now.

    You might need to move some .dlls around to get the mod packager to run-- the RDN dev kit I installed had 'em in the wrong directory. Move/copy mfc70.dll, msvcp70.dll, and msvcr70.dll into the mod packager directory and try it again.

    I'll second the torrent idea, the download speed on both links is ridiculously slow.

    Kou Uraki Actually for researching the nuke, i was sorta hoping that
    a) you get one shot at a time but...
    b) can be reloaded it by either waiting a couple mins (since it is so powerful) or have the GP02 return to the mothership for a reload

    mecha_manic: You have to pay for the relevant research and build the required modules (when available after researching and prerequisites have been met). What the order is I can't say off the top of my head. And it varies with Feddies or Zeon.

    Also, you mentioned "Luna 2". What is that? hmmmm..for feddies or zeon?
