I followed most instructions I can find on this forum and on google and have gotten the game to actually run. The game loads fine and I get about 5-10 minutes for game play. Then all of a sudden the game shuts off giving this message:
Homeworld2.exe caused an Access Violation in module atioglxx.dll at 0023:699120c1.
Error occurred at 10/29/2009 23:46:44.

Also I have read somewhere in the forum that when i start the round as the federation, I shouldnt have a normal vaygr looking carrier...any help on that...i read something like replace an lua file but I am honestly lost to as what this means.
And at last it seems that if i try to start the round as zeon, the game automatically crashes...
If anyone can help with these problems, thank you for taking your precious time off to help.
PS: please do try to refrain from using technical terms and provide as much step-by-step directions as possible.
anyone can give the link to gundam mod trainer??? i really wanted that trainer plzz help me to find it
I dont know if anyone looks at this thread anymore but i had a question and was looking for some help.... im trying to up the unit limits for 3.1 but for the life of me i cant figure out how to do it... i have the .BIG unpacker and have unpacked the TZJ file and edited the unit cap in there but i cant repack it as a TZJ file, only as a .BIG file and when i try to rename it it has no effect. anyways thanks for any help and i hope this mod is continuing! i love it and its given me hours of enjoyment lol
Just leave it unpacked and use -overrideBigFile to start the mod instead. That's much easier.

thank u for the help, also i had another quick question if u didn't mind..... when im in game all the names turn to like s808 or something like that and i was wondering if u knew how to remedy that. thanks again for the help!
Sounds like you haven't gotten the english language file installed properly. I can't remember exactly how it's set up, but IIRC, the language file is separate from the main mod file, so you'll need both in place for the proper text to show up.
Can anyone help me with this mod? i done all the things told in the instructions with the download, it all goes good, Gundam menu with English language, but as i start the game it loads then stops on "Universe" then it closes down and im back to my windows page :/ Anyone know of a cure to this? Plz tell i wanna play it sooo bad xD
This is the results i found:

Anyone know if they can cure it? plz this mod looks soo awesome i want to play it but something stopping me T-T
Im gonna try something, if i don't post it failed, do post it works xD
Well i don't know why i posted all that when i just needed:
Homeworld2.exe caused a Breakpoint in module Debug.dll at 001b:003619b6.
Error occurred at 9/1/2010 17:45:48.
Homeworld2.exe, run by Preet.
Microsoft Windows XP?.
1 processor(s), type 586.
1023 MBytes physical memory.
Anyone know how to fix a "Homeworld2.exe caused a Breakpoint in module Debug.dll at 001b:003619b6."?
I do not know why i posted this the wrong way around xD : "if i don't post it failed, do post it works xD"
That's still not what we need. The mini-dumps and error logs are useless. We need the hw2.log from the Bin\Release folder.
well im going to try again, after 3.1 didn't work i tried 3.0 (i moved all 3.1 files out of HW2 section), and the same thing happens, the "Universe" which loads doesn't work, but im sure something isn't right when i did it, btw did 3.0 & 3.1 have the same menu?
btw i uninstalled all HW2 and Gundam Mods, and will retry by today, results will be unknown and if error happens again i try and find that HW2 log thing.
Is this what you after ford6?

Hey guys.
I am in slight bind which some of you might be able to help with.
I'm running HW2 on a desktop with Win7(64bit), and I can't get it to work. When I try to launch the program, the screen goes black for a moment or two, then it goes back to the desktop.
I know this is an easy fix because I've done it on my other desktop and laptop, but I can't remember how to fix it for the life of me!
I already tried the DEP thing, and that's not it, nor was that the problem on my laptop.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
First, make sure your graphics drivers are updated. If that isn't the problem, try setting the compatibility mode to Windows NT. If that doesn't do it, post your hw2.log file here as SoulMechaZero did above. That should give a hint about the problem.
sabuu updated hw2 to 1.1? there's some problems with the patch in w7 where not all of the files get updated like they should.
Couple topics with fixes floating around
How can I capture a copy of my hw2.log?
I did try updating to 1.1.
All I found on trying to fix that was using the German install. Is that a fix you were speaking of?

Having problems have not idea what to do I ajusted settings to run on Nt service pack updated drivers and now stuck please help me
@clonetank: it reports that there is a problem with the coding of one of the mod files.
This usually means one of two things: either the file you downloaded is corrupt, which would more likely result in you just not being able to load the game at all with the mod, or else the mod has a bug that crashes it when you try to start a level with the particular settings you used.
There are a couple of things you can try: You might try deleting your profile, which would force the game to reset all settings to default.
If that fails, I'd suggest the trial and error approach: Try starting a game on another map. Try starting a 1v1 game with both you and the cpu playing the same race. Try it where you both are playing the other race. If there are settings in the mod that allow or disallow certain ship classes (I can't remember if this mod does that), try disabling one or all.
