    Create a folder called "HW2 Gundam Mod Version 2.0" and place the RAR in there.

    Extract the Gundam_mod2.0.tzj, Gundam_mod2.0.bat and english.big files into your X:\Homeworld2\Data folder.

    Extract the contents of the "Animatics" to the X:\Homeworld2\Data\Animatics folder

    Run gundam_mod2.0.bat to play the game
    or put this

    homeworld2.exe -mod GUNDAM_MOD2.0.TZJ -Refresh 75

    into your homeworld 2 shortcut (right click shortcut --> properties. Then past that info into the "target" location)

    Run game and enjoy! =D

    get SSM, (Siege station mod), then find the .lua and install that only, then startup Homeworld2, and then choose the Gametype as SSM .. somethin(forgot) then goto All research players: click it to 6, (means all research, just build the rresearch Modules) and ur done. It just says top secret, u probably need to like Research every single bit, get every mech/fight/carrier out, XD

    mecha_manic: I'm uncertain of the exact order of what to build and research to get the GP01/02. By late game, i have everything built and researched so i can make any unit i want.

    If you want to get it faster, i believe you can avoid research the pilot specific designs (ie: Gato Anavel's Gelgood or Johnny Ridden's...etc...). Just research the core design's (for zeon, light mobile suit tech, basic ms design, heavy mobile suit develop, next generation develop, then "operation stardust" plans).

    Creator's say "it's a secret" cause they want you to figure it out yourself instead of telling you what the prerequisites are =P
    Worse comes to worse, just research and build everything =P

    The birmingham requires the "10 year birmingham..<blah blah>" research completed. You just have to complete the other capital research before you get that option.

    Finally I done the last modify for the Traditional Chinese translation.

    This version correct lot's of problems that I did not deal with in the first TC translation version...

    Ok, let's tolk about this mod.^^
    I'm interest in how to build or other way to summon the LUNA II.
    Due to the translation work, I have to play it many many times, but I have never seen the LUNA II yet....
    And I think that EFSF has two big advantages than ZEON.
    1.ZEON can't build one more Mothership class carrier.
    2.Gundom and GM use the same Production Facility.
    So I think that it's relatively hard for ZEON to build heavy MS...

    But I love ZEON =w=

    I want to see the Kampher personally (Too bad the Gouf/ Gouf Custom is ground only )

    It is also very expensive for Zeon's heavy MS.

    I'm sure AK is working on balancing the mod further though.

    I never had a problem with the FTP myself (It only took 15 minutes both times I downloaded it).

    Look on the previous page for a torrent I'm hosting.

    There are 3 or 4 seeds now, so you're download should go nicely.

    Please help seed. You should be able to play the mod and keep the download window open at the same time.

    Dr4900n: Found a couple error's/tweaks that should be put into the translation:

    Musai Engine Upgrade (research section)
    For the sake of consistency, in the description, please put

    "Improve's Musai's Max Speed"
    instead of "Improves Musai's Speed"

    All of the other "engine/speed" upgrades say "max speed".

    10 Year's Armament Enhancement Plans (research section)
    - Year's doesn't need to be plural.
    - Enhancement is missing an "E" before the "M"

    Gelgoog - MS14A (research section)
    - Speed upgrade: I think "prerequiste" is spelt wrong. GRR, i'd have to get back to on that. Forgot to write a CLEAR note to myself about it -__-

    MS-06R2 Zaku II (building section)
    - in the Description it says
    "Fires guided Anti-Capital shells with the 280mm Zaku bazooka".
    I think it should say
    "Fires guided Anti-Capital Ship shells from the 280mm Zaku bazooka"

    My university is going to be like that as well. Stupid free internet (Not free, tacked onto my Residence fees but meh)

    I didn't realize it was just for building purposes. But I research everything anyways

    I also made the corrections (Except the Gelgoog one. It looked fine). The Zaku II's bazooka description sounded just fine to me

    Also, there is an error somewherer where a line is completely borked. It was in the original, but I forget where. The line is not split. It says "Strong vs: yatta yatta Weak vs: yatta yatta" on the same line.

    Also, get me the number for research. I'll fix that little error (It says it in the game).

    I'd find it myself, but I don't have any time right now. Work is killing me no time for games.

    Dr4900n: Yeah, if in doubt, research/build it all (and try to stay alive at the same time OR just play against easy's to experiment)

    Re: the borked line. I think i've seen that line. I'll try to find it again. Do you know if it's for Fed's or Zeon?

    Re: Number for research. There are numbers? I didn't notice any. I'll look again. But which one? the borked line one?

    They tried to start charging up but they couldent get the system to work. Lucky for us... Finnally got the mod after bugging an off campus friend to grab it for me via Torrent.

    Anyone know how to get into the TZJ file? theres a few thing i want to try, not the least having a shot at getting an AI to work... maybe.

    Kudos once again!!! What I posted earlier was the raw conversion of your mod... Thanks to your support and the SCP, I finally get to blow up some Zakus in style!

    Here are the near final results...








    I did almost nothing to them but sharpen a few textures a bit and add a glowmap. I think they look incredible.

    Your works have impressed many in my other community and now I am adding them to the credits (mod is in a raw beginning from but now has it's own folder). Is there a listing of your team member's names in the BIG file? If it would be better can you PM me a list of thier names?

    Back to some Gundam goodness

    Couple minor fixes for the mod:
    -----------------------------
    1- that buggered line was for the "MS-09R Rick Dom". The Strong Vs. and Weak Vs. is all in one line.

    2- I noticed that the prerequisite for the Gwazine's "Anti-Aircraft Weapon System" is both (a) Capital Ship Technology and (b) Light Cruiser Technology. The prereq's only say (a)

    Sorry for letting ya know about the fixes, little by little. I come by them as a see them =P

    Star Dragon: Where could one acquire the Gundam Mod for Freespace 2? Is it publically available?

    Hehe not really right now as the back bone is simply the HW2 mod. I had the idea of trying 3 years ago but people on other forums wouldn't support it.

    The team here gave me permission to attempt some conversions and I tried them a few weeks ago with release 1 and had good results. Now with release 2 I switched over to it and cocnentrated on the textures and glows. I think it makes all the difference since glows show more in FS than in HW2 apparently (no offense). Now I have a good core start. Hopefully this will generate more interest on HLP to support the idea.

    Now I am inspired to bring back something I tried logn ago, remote bits (they acted as wingmen)... I had a model for a small widget with a laser turret on it and my "Gundam" would call in support and 10 of them would warp in. I figure only Newtypes would have them but instead of complicated fredding I was thinking of changing the countermeasures table possibly?

    Anyway would HW2 support the idea of a remote bit function for special pilots/mecha?

    I hope this team continues to make excellent meshes (any chance of a release 3?), even if some of them are too high poly for me to convert any time soon they are still superb and very visually accurate!

    Someone more versed in SCAR (The scripting language for HW2) could clear this up.

    If you do not know what a bit/ funnel is they are small umaned units that the pilot of the suit using them controls through telepathy. They swarm around and attack the enemy. Near the end of the UC era, a device was created to allow non-newtypes to control bits.

    My roomate (Which I have only ever talked to on the internet once) is from Richmond hill

    I'm going into first year computer science in a little over 2 weeks.

    Hehe whenever i think of bits, i think of Gundam X. Seeing Gundam X and 10-12 unmanned bits completely owning dozens and dozen's of other mecha/fighters etc rocks =D

    Of course, funnel and bits from Nu Gundam and Sazabi/Nightingale (my two favs ^_^)

    I would just love to see either or both of them in affordable Master Grade 1/100 models. Atm Hi-Nu I think is only available in resin 1/100 which = BLING BLING
    and Nightingale is $270 CAD for 1/144 scale (as seen here http://www.hlj.com/product/BCL1925) and $750 CAD for 1/100 scale (as seen here http://www.hlj.com/product/BCL2202 ).

    Just a tad out of my budget let alone what i'd be willing to pay for a kit.
    Soooo the most affordable way to have either is to see if someone would put it in the mod! ^_^ *hint*mod creator's *hint*


    You know we still haven't heard from Kou Uraki regarding the location of Luna II or how to acquire it. *ahem*

    [Edit 2] Bugger, i made some changes then saved the archive. But when i try to use the english.big i edited, the game doesn't start. It just drops me back to the desktop. Any idea's what i did wrong?

    btw, i used word pad to edit the *.ucs files. If that's wrong, plz recommend something more suitable.

    death_ab. the file buildresearch.ucs in the english.big file does mention the Luna II base. But it doesn't say where it is or how to get it/use it.

    And Luna II? its not in the BIG... You must just be seeing the asteriod bases from Gehena, or a Vagyr command base....

    AI- so far just been dumping the ships into the Higgy fleets to replace their order of battle. The bazooka GM are absoultly deady against the Zaku

    -A quick note, this is not as easy as it sounds... Every ship file swaped must be modified, and the Zeon ships are mostly missing any 'what it does' parameters... I'll dump some files up once i've gotten the ship mix working right. Oh, and this is just to simulate normal line forces, so no special ships are going to be in this AI group.

    If you have a Windows 2000-based system (2k or XP), Notepad should do just fine, as it can open Unicode-encoded files. Maybe Wordpad saved them in the older ANSI encoding, or (horrors) .doc or .rtf, which HW2 most likely does NOT want to see.

    Hmm, I saw that too... possible future addition, or did they just forget to remove it?

    BTW, whoever built the English.big files forgot to put "Research" as entry 3126 in ui.ucs (they forgot back in 1.0 too)... this doesn't affect anything until you hit 'Q' in-game and wonder what the $3126 is in the build/research HUD...

    1) My translation or the original translation?
    2) That happened to me when I did not create it correctly (With a different program ).

    When you create the file you should name it locale. This way, when you create you're file it starts the tree at locale. Then you can put you're files into it from there. I'll make a screenshot for you in a second.

    [Edit 1] Tried saving all the files i opened/edited to the Uni-code text format and it didn't help. I still get kicked out to the desktop when i try to run the game =(

    Dr4900n: Actually i was editing your latest translation. I'm not surprised if you missed some. There is so much damn text that anyone can miss the smallest error here or there. Silly me should have written them down.
    Plus i was changing some of the text/spelling to fit my "requirements" =P
    I saved the english.big file in the exact same way as i extracted it. Same file structure and naming convention.

    1/100 GP-03 Stamen? or the 1/144 Dendrobium? (I have both =X ). The 1/144 Dendrobium is about $300 now ($450'ish when it first came out but i bought it when i was in japan so i ended up getting it, after conversion, for $215 ^_^ )



    What changes/additions were made to the mod in version 2.1?

    Huh. Well, I'm fresh out of ideas, aside from just extracting everything into Data/ and use the command switch -overrideBigFile, just to rule out the packager making a bad .big file...
