    Fiction HW: The Rediscovered Past

Due to the increasing amount of Fanfics, I thought I would do something different. Here it is; a HW Prequel based on the Progenitors. Comments and Critics would be welcome.

Acts I and II are not polished nicely because they were intended to be shortened into the prologue, but I wrote a better description anyway. The main story begins from ACTIII.

    Prologue:

    THE PROGENITOR Empire.

Spanning nearly an entire galactic super cluster, the empire prospered. It had trillions of inhabitants all under the beloved rule of the Progenitor capital, A One Prime and the current Progenitor Emperor, Sajuuk the great.

During the early part of his predecessor's rule, the Empire had come under threat by an equally powerful and tyrannic race called the Zolenoths. To counter the threat, the Emperor ordered the Evacuation of their original Homeworld and told the people that it was for protecting it from possible war and destruction.

The Truth however was to build a secret Flagship, so powerful that it could alone defeat an entire galactic fleet. When ready it could spearhead the Progenitor forces, take the Xolenoths by surprise and crush them for complete victory. It is now 5009 PSR (Prime Standard Year), The Royal Engineer, Kaalra-Sun is waiting eagerly outside the Emperor's Palace to Show the Complete Model of the Flagship Ultima. War Begun during Sajuuk's reign.

A Progenitor Emperor was nothing more then a leader. He was not considered a divine or a superior human. Although his office was hereditary, a tyrant could be changed by the people who had the power to elect a new linage. The Republic System was changed to the Emperor System because of the vastness of the Empire. It became impossible for an entire galactic super cluster to vote on a periodic basis.

    Introduction :

The New Imperial Palace, Progenitor Capital, A01

The Emperor's Chief Adviser, Maakin-Yol, told him, Emperor, our chief engineer has returned with some very good news.
    And what is that ?
Progress on Project Ultima. he replied.
    Emperor held him back.
    Send him in

A young progenitor entered the room, he had bright eyes, was tall and wore an excited look on his face. Facing the Emperor,
he keeled and said, Emperor, I have excellent news, Project Ultima is a complete success.

Excellent. What you and the team have done will prove to be the turning point in this war. Give me the details of the weaponry.

Emperor Sajuuk saw the look on Kaalra-Sun's face which suggested that he would not be disappointed.
Kaalra activated a holographic projector which displayed the most ultra-modern ship ever known to the Universe.

It was stunning, it had smooth curved hull the front apex bursting with lots of weapons. It's weapons were effectively placed, which could undoubtedly fire in any direction it wanted.

It had no plasma-ejectors or the more advanced high-energy reflector engines which suggested that it could be moved by inertia less or quantum-deflection drives. The Ultima also had what appeared to be huge panels on it's sides, which, on closer inspection, could be seen as extensive Point Defense Systems.

Behold our Flagship, the Ultima. said Kaalra-Sun, his eyes gleaming in the neon light.

The Ultima, he continued, is a megalith, 200km in diameter. It is equipped with simultaneous construction capabilities of classes ranging from microships to Mini-Motherships. he paused,

It has an armament of 200 pulsar cannon and 300 Kinetic-guns with both fast-tracking and rapid-fire typed as the point defense systems. It also has 30 high-powered Ion Cannons which have a full 100% coverage.

Its has 3 directional mounted triton cannons, 10 angular trinity canons, Rapid-fire Ion-Plasma Guns, the works. He leaned closer to Sajuuk and said,But the best thing of all... it can create ships without using a single load of resources. It converts energy into matter.

Emperor Sajuuk stared at Kaalra, and said, I thought that matter converters were still inefficient for use in ship-building.

They were, Kaalra said, But I managed to implement them on an efficient basis, I made a hyperspace container with the ability to store pure quantum energies until they could be converted to matter by the means of a zero point energy tube. We can even change the element made by changing the energy levels in the tube.

Maakin looked dazed, he asked,Where does it get so much energy from ?

It is powered by a series of dark energy reactors, our new alternative to the old high-energy fusion drives. It has a cryogenic storage facility for the huge crew it requires, capable of containing up to 1.5 million people.

    Brilliant the Emperor muttered.

Emperor, Kaalra said,We need an Unbound Pilot, can you suggest someone suitable ?
Sajuuk said,I will do that myself. I would like to have our current flagship, the Saapa, to be upgraded with the matter creating facility. Also, for security reasons, make the Saapa, the key for the Ultima. You may leave. the Emperor finished, gesturing Kaalra to the door.

After Kaalra left, Maakin asked the Emperor, We are now indestructible, there is nothing that can stop the light. Kaalra has certainly done very well.

Sajuuk walked to the windows and gazed at the massive capital city Mazz-Doma.

    'We shall see.' he said.

The High Palace, Xolenoth Capital, Morademo Prime

Xolenoth All High, Desolar and his commander-in-chief, Savole Rade Insoa, had an expression of absolute disbelief after what their spies had just reported to them.

The Holographic Projector flickered into life, displaying the same Ultramodern design of the Ultima.

Your Grandness, this new ship, it's invincible. We have identified no weakness. What do you propose we do ? Savole said with fear in his eyes.

Don't worry, Desolar replied, his eyes never leaving the hologram, There's always a weakness.

    But, your grandness-
The All High held up his hand and uttered a single word-

    Improvise.

    Thanks, for the comment.
    BTW,
    All spellings corrected.

    P.S-
Ultima is supposed to be a monster because of the scale on which the war is being fought (Inter-Galactic Superclusteral battles are meant to be huge).

    ACT ONE
    Chapter 1 - Activate

The Imperial Shuttle, en-route to the Progenitor Homeworld, Zero:

Sajuuk stared at the view screens which were displaying the yellow streaks of hyperspace. Standing beside him was Maakin-Yol and
    the Royal Engineer, Kaalra-Sun, who said, with a smile;

"Emperor, we will be exiting hyperspace in one minute."

Sajuuk nodded. He and Maakin were eager to see the Divine Flagship that would save their Empire. Maakin was busy taking with Kaalra about the advanced weapon systems of the Ultima.

Finally, a golden window opened before the shuttle. The first thing Sajuuk saw was the Homeworld itself and it's satellite, Nova.
He saw the massive orbital platform, the biggest ship construction facility in existence, The Creator, with it was docked the ultimate ship,
The huge, sleek design of the Ultima. Kaalra smiled while Sajuuk's and Maakin's mouths fell open.

Kaalra's description of the legendary ship did not even trace an Iota the true power of the ship itself. Sajuuk was always startled at the sight of the Creator, but somehow, when he saw the Ultima, he could feel the power that was held within. There was now nothing that could prevent victory,
    Or was there ?

The Progenitor MegaShipYard, The Creator, High Orbit, Zero Prime :

The Admiral of the Progenitor fleet, Admiral Renos, awaited the arrival of Emperor Sajuuk with great excitement and anticipation. He was standing on the most secure bridge known to the Progenitor Race, the massive bridge of the flagship Ultima.

"Admiral", Renos heard the voice of his sensors officer, the Emperor's Shuttle has exited hyperspace, ETA 10 minutes.
<I'm going to receive him. I want the Ultima ready for launch as soon as the Emperor arrives. Send a message to the Creator.>
"At once, Sir", the officer replied.

He shot a glance at the previous Flagship, The Saapa, being refitted with a matter-creator, after which he
walked out of the bridge to the main docking point of the Ultima. He could scarcely believe that this was the
Greatest moment in Progenitor history... And he was near the heart of it.

This was going to be one of the best days of his life... Or was it ?

The High Palace, Morademo Prime :

All high Desolar finally looked up at his commander.
"Savole", he said, lips barely moving, "There is something I haven't told you, something that can win this war........."

"I had ordered for a complete overhaul on our old flagship, The Omicron. It is equipped with a massive electromagnetic array,
Capable of disabling an entire galactic sector for a day."

<Your Grandness> came Savole's reply, there was a note of astonishment in his voice, <Why did you not tell me ?>

Desolar looked directly at Commander Insoa. For a long time, he said nothing.
Finally he said slowly, "I have my own reasons, commander. They are of no importance right now."

Savole nodded, by Xolenoth law, it was illegal to argue against the All High for any reason. Penalty - Death.

The All High continued, "I want you to take a fleet and disable the Ultima, we must capture it before it is activated and in full service.
I trust you are the right man for the job."

Commander Insoa looked upon his ruler with an expression of utter disbelief,
< My lord, it is impossible to reach the Zero System, even our strongest fleet has failed to do so, and even if we do reach there, how, in the name
Of darkness will we defeat the cursed Ultima ?>

    Desolar smiled,
    "Here's the plan. "

After ten minutes, Savole Rade Insoa's mouth fell open.
All he managed to say was - "At once your grandness. "

He left for the Omicron without saying another word.

Desolar hoped that he had not made a huge mistake.

The Imperial Shuttle, High Orbit, Zero Prime :

Sajuuk was astonished when Kaalra told him that the massive Progenitor Fleet in front of them, which consisted of 1200 squadrons of fighters
and corvettes, about 1000 frigate-class ships, 7 supercarriers, several battleships and cruisers and finally a mini-mothership were all made by
    the Ultima's matter converter.

He also saw, that their current flagship

They were approaching the Ultima's fighter hanger. Sajuuk and Maakin caught a glimpse of their receiving party.
The Shuttle went down smoothly to the hanger and landed.
Kaalra-Sun, Maakin-Yol and the Emperor Sajuuk walked down to take their first steps on the mighty ship.

    Admiral Renos Folsoa welcomed them.
He did not know that far away, in the Ultima's sensors facility, the astronavigation teams were picking up faint signals about a time-distortion in
    a far-away galaxy.....

    Xolenoth Colony Morademo Minor :

The Xolenoth High Commander, Savole Insoa, was standing in the most powerful ship the All High had to offer.
It did not even come close to the size and the Majesty of the Ultima, but it had a weapon, that could shatter the cursed Progenitor Homeworld
and bind the Universe in complete darkness.

Standing before the great ship Omicron was a vast fleet of Xolenoth elites.

Savole knew that he must not fail, or light would obliviate the darkness.
    <Never> he thought.

    "Commander", his Nav officer called.
"We are ready for Inter-galactic warp jump, time distortion module fully charged
    Estimated Travel Time, 10 days."

Savole nodded. Taking a deep breath, he said, "Initiate Jump."

    <Singularity Activated>

The massive fleet was engulfed in a huge black hole.
The black hole then disappeared from view.

On board the Progenitor Flagship, Ultima :

Emperor Sajuuk stood on the stage of the Ultima's colossal briefing room.
Here he was to give a speech to the entire crew, and to announce his role as fleet command.

With a confident voice, he began his speech:

    "My fellow Progenitors,
I stand before you on the greatest ship, ever built in our known Universe.
We are peace-loving, yet we have been forced to declare war.
We fight to restore peace. To bring light. To bring Knowledge, Security and Prosperity to our people.
We cannot let darkness rule, for we are the soldiers of light."

"To ensure victory, I will be personally be Unbound to this ship.
My trusted adviser, Maakin-Yol, will watch over our Empire
    He shall protect our families."

"Brave Progenitors, I am with you all
Let us end this war, once and for all !"

With that, the crew applauded with a deafening sound. Moments later, Admiral Renos came up to him.
He said, "The Bio-tech teams are ready to insert you, Emperor."

    ******

Two Hours later, the final stages of insertion were complete. Everyone in the Bridge Applauded.
Sajuuk could feel the Magnificence of Kaalra's design and the power held within the ship's 10
hyperspace cores as well as the dark energy reactors.
    He felt Divine.

    "This is Emperor Sajuuk.
    Initiating Flagship Pre-Launch Sequence........
    Reactors - Online
    Command - Online
    Weapons systems A-K online
    L to Z - Online
    Matter Reactors - Online
    Cryogenic Subsystems - Online
    Main Drives - Online
    Hyperspace Cores- 1-5 - Online
    5-10 - Online

The Creator reports that it is ready to commence launch sequence.......

    Primary Holds released......"

There was a huge roar of celebration, Sajuuk knew this was a moment to be proud of.
He finished the activation report -

    <The Ultima has been activated.>
"May the Supreme God Protect the Empire !"
Came Maakin's voice through all frequencies.

Trillions of Progenitors celebrated for now they were safe .
The officers present in the bridge saluted, for this was their finest hour.

As the drive systems legendary ship pushed it away from the massive construction facility, the fleet around it fired of a short burst of
their best weapons to celebrate the launch of history. The Saapa's Point Defense Systems made an impressive display of it's plasma
beams dancing around the new flag ship.

The Darkness would be driven back, at any rate.

    HW: The Rediscovered Past

    Chapter 2 - Unknown Distortions

    The High Palace, Morademo Prime

    Desolar was still in shock.
Xole intelligence had just told him that the Ultima was now active.
Commander Insoa did not know this as communication was impossible in singularity jumps.

    But, all was not lost.

    The Omicron and her fleet could be saved. There was one more thing that the high commander had not been told about;
Desolar had ordered the construction of an even more powerful ship, the pinnacle of Xolenoth Destructive technology.

It was built in a Top-Secret facility, codenamed the Veil located inside a nebula in the same Galaxy.
Desolar knew that he had no other choice but to take a fleet and go to The Omicron's rescue himself.

The name of the ship, was the Vanaar Jet

    Desolar walked to his shuttle.
He walked toward victory, or total defeat.
    ***

    Nine Days Later...

    ***

    The Creator Homeworld System

Clendra Rtora Sinowa, a leading Progenitor theoretical physicist, was walking to the dock point of the Saapa.
She was pretty good looking, very intelligent and one of the best Unbound Pilot the Progenitors had ever known.
Because of this, they had chosen her to pilot the Saapa, "A very honorable post" as she rightly thought.

Her thoughts drove her to the Saapa's famous history.....

The ship was built in the Galaxy P50, one of the most important Progenitor galaxies after the Homeworld galaxy itself.
The galaxy P50 was known to be the centre of Hyperspace research. It contained the second biggest ship building
facility in existence, known simply as The Foundry.
Due to it's Importance, it had become the forefront of the Xolenoth conflict.
The Emperor had decided that it was to be the first galaxy which the Ultima shall clean from Evil.

The first far-jump hyperspace cores were built in the same Foundry.
Although the Progenitors had mastered inter-galactic gateways, they need a more flexible source of movement.

The Cores were created in a Trinity.
3 cores, created by the brightest minds in existence,
3 cores, developed by super-refined Algorithms, having perfect dimensions,
3 cores, inserted in the famous ship, which she was to command.

It was a strange coincidence that another word for Saapa in the Progenitor language was Sajuuk.
Both the words had one meaning - Creation or the Creator.

As Clendra's thoughts dissolved into reality, the final acceleration pod was fitted inside the Sappa's main
    cannon.

The Saapa was ready for relaunch.

    ***

    The Saapa, Homeworld System.

    Clendra's Insertion was successful.
The Ultima stood waiting nearby, like a Stronger God helping a Smaller God...

    "This is Saapa Command...
    Initiating Saapa relaunch sequence...

    Main Drives - Online
    Matter Converter - Online
    Triton Cannon - Online
    Core Trinity - Online
    Point Defense Systems - Online
    Sensors - Online

The Saapa has cleared the Creator !!"

Through the renewed cheering, Sajuuk and Clendra felt a growing Time Distortion approaching their location...

    ***

    Onboard The Ultima

    Sajuuk smiled.
The Xolenoth were clearly unaware that the Ultima and the Saapa were active.
Moreover, The Ultima had built a huge number of ships. Their fleet size had nearly tripled.

    Sajuuk told Admiral Renos,
"Admiral, It seems that the we will be killing Xoles ahead of schedule.
    Check the Sensors."

Sure enough, the Sensors officer replied, voice trembling,
"Emperor, It is true that we have been receiving a Time-distortion heading our way, we never thought that the
    Xoles would dare strike here.."

Sajuuk gave him a reassuring look, he calmy replied,
<There are always weaknesses everywhere, they would have found one in our inhibitor field.
Admiral, you know what this means.>

Admiral Renos gave him a nod. He reached for the command mic and called out,

"Attention fleet. Long range sensors have picked up incoming Distortion signatures.
All Ships to full combat alert. Activate Singularity inhibitor as soon as the enemy warps in.
Standby for enemy contact in 5 minutes.:"

Meanwhile, Clendra sent a message to the capital of galaxy P50, warning them of their possible delay and conflict.

    ***

    Onboard the Progenitor Mothership, Storm

Kaalra had just finished fine-tuning the newly built Mothership's hyperspace core when he heard Renos'es message.
He quickly made his way to the Bridge.

The Storm was a unique assault mothership design.
It had the shape of a gracefully curved cuboid, with the Progenitor Colors- Dull Yellow with a Red stripe.
Although it's main purpose was to create new ships, it also had a nasty Phased Cannon Array and 5 particle beams.

Kaalra's job during the last ten days was to fine tune the Hyperspace modules and the drive systems of the
    newly built capital class ships.

As Kaalra entered the Bridge, A massive black hole emerged from the empty space.
The Fabric of Space-Time was bent and the next thing everyone knew, there stood the fleet of the Omicron.
The Black hole disappeared as quickly as it came.

    Sajuuk smiled.
With a mental command, he began charging the Ultima's weapon systems,
Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the Saapa generating a golden beam of death......

It was time to show them the meaning of power.

    ***

Onboard the Vanaar Jet, warp transit :

The All High, his ship, the Vanaar Jet and the vast fleet escorting it were travelling in the fastest speed achieved by
    Xolenoth science.

Yet, no speed was fast enough to match that of the Ultima's hyperspace cores.
Desolar and his crew had been travelling for 8 Days, to Desolar they seemed like 8 years.
Finally, the Vanaar-Jet's Nav officer called out, "Warp exit in 15 minutes, your Grandness."

    Desolar nodded.
"All ships, get ready for action !"

    ***

    Onboard the Omicron, Zero System

Commander Insoa had an expression of horror and disbelief on his face.
Clearly he had not expected the Ultima to be active.
    This single ship, changed everything.

    He sent a single command to his awe-struck fleet;
"All ships, scramble alert, ATTACK !!"

As soon as he said this, 4 light destroyers were engulfed in a Golden beam of light, they lit up and made a spectacular lightning
display before they were completely obliviated. That was the work of The Saapa.

No sooner had the beam disappeared, the Ultima powered up 5 more Golden beams, and fired them directly on the Omicron.
The Omicron shook slightly as the shields absorbed the damage. A moment later, the shields were under attack by hundreds of
Ion beams, and a thousand laser and pulsar beams launched by the Progenitor fighters and corvettes.

No less then five Xole Heavy BattleCrusiers met their doom, as the Ultima sent a individual Phased blast as a dying gift to each of them.
In moments, the Homeworld's orbit was lit up with a brilliant display of light, and several resource-loads of Space Debris.

"Status !" Insoa shouted, his weapons officer replied, "Commander, shield power at 40 % and decreasing fast, we cannot maintain100%
shield integrity for more then 5 minutes !"
"Commander !", the sensors officer replied, "There are 500 frigates heading our way!"
<Weapons control, Fire the Electromagnetic Array, Target the frigates!>

The massive curved panel on top of the Omicron glowed blue with an ever-increasing magnitude. Suddenly, it released an enormous blue
shock wave that hit nearly 200 frigates. The next moment, the frigates were disabled. They could not move or fire. Their life support systems
    were starting to malfunction...

As revenge, the Storm unleashed a furious blast of energy, which crippled several Xole frigates in turn and put the Omicron's shields to
their limits, they burst open, with half of Ultima's ion cannon fire severely damaging the Xole flagship.

Just as the little hope that Xolenoth High Commander Savole Insoa had completely disappeared, an Ultramassive black hole emerged just outside
    the Ultima's inhabitor range,

    The Vanaar Jet had arrived.

Aside from all evil alien races starting with the letters Z or X, and the fact that if a black hole engulfs something, then you wouldn't usually need to restate that it disappeared -
    Act 1, Chap 1
The massive fleet was engulfed in a huge black hole.
    Then, it disappeared.
    - pretty interesting so far.

    Interesting!

Like to see how the enemy or 'The Darkness' as referred to gets developed further...

Some (or a bit?) more detailed descriptions of the ships would be nice as I couldn't really vision them clearly while reading.

All in all, an interesting take on the Progenitor race!

BTW after reading some of the paragraphs couldl not help but to insert my toon here as it reminded me of it (hope you don't mind...) :smash:

@Ghent : I meant to say that the Black Hole disappeared, not the fleet. Edited it anyway
@Troff, I'll try and add the descriptions in the next chapter.

    HW : The Rediscovered Past

I know that this chapter is small, but it's only because I don't have a lot to say

    Chapter 3, Fluctuations

Progenitor Colony - Bentus, Capital, Galaxy P50

General Tau listened carefully as his communications officer told him about contact with the Ultima's fleet.
He simply gave the order, "Recall all Units to the Foundry. Get the mothership Rage ready. "

With that he left for the space port and his mothership. The sudden turn of events was surprising and gave a chance
    to quickly end the war.

    Onboard the Saapa, Homeworld system

Clendra sensed the new danger. She quickly focused the Saapa's sensors on the newly arrived Xole flagship.
She found that the Vanaar Jet was loaded with a Quantum-Distortion Missile system, the Ultimate weapon of
destruction. She looked at the Homeworld and realised that she must not give the Xoles a chance to destroy it...

"Clendra to all Progenitor Ships, the new Xole flagship, the Vanaar Jet is loaded with a Quantum-Distortion missile
system. We cannot allow it to destroy the Homeworld. Emperor Sajuuk and all hyperspace core equipped ships, standby to
initiate intergalactic wake jump to galaxy P50 in 10 seconds."

    ***

It was no ordinary Hyperspace jump.
The combined power of the Saapa's three cores, the Ultima's ten and the cores of the other Super-Capital ships
roared with a brilliant golden light. They combined their power to reach the limits of Hyperspace speed and every single
Progenitor and Xole ship in range, all except the Creator, disappeared in a blinding flash of light.

    ***

    Onboard the Vanaar Jet

Desolar had just given the order to fire the Quantum-Distortion missile at the Progenitor homeworld. Before the weapon could
begin powering up, however, they were dragged into an inter-galactic hyperspace jump.

"Status!", Desolar Cried out. His Nav officer replied, "Your Grandness, we have been dragged into hyperspace. All weapon
systems are still fully operational and the whole fleet had been accounted for."

Desolar knew that they had no way of getting out by reversing their hyperspace module signature as the Ultima's modules
were way too powerful. His instincts told him that they were headed for galaxy P50, the centre of Progenitor military.
He gave an order, "Recall all ships within range to the Foundry at galaxy P50. I want all ships to be on full guard as we
exit hyperspace. Keep the Quantum-Distortion Missile system ready."

The tactical officer nodded in agreement as the Vanaar Jet and it's fleet continued to move at a speed of nearly four billion
    light years per second...

Desolar knew that they would have to try and survive till the reinforcements arrived.
They were to exit hyperspace in 15 minutes.

    ***

    Progenitor Colony, Hiigara, Galaxy P50

Captain Enous Molrus sent a command for his fleet to initiate a hyperspace jump to the Foundry.
He had received a message from General Tau about the Saapa's signal.
As the Auxiliary Mothership Starlight opened up a shimmering golden window, Captain Enous took
a deep breath and hoped that his fleet would not fail the Emperor or the Empire.

    ***

Onboard the MotherShip Rage, Karos Sector

The Rage and it's fleet exited hyperspace.

It was a mega-mothership design, similar to the Storm but with a major difference.
It was built for the command of an entire galactic fleet, therefore it had large command systems as well as some of the most accurate point
defense systems the Progenitors had ever built.
It was in the shape of a hemisphere, with three arms projecting from the rear. The Central arm hosted the bridge, the sidearms had two Tritons cannons each. The Hemisphere hosted the construction facility.

In front of the Rage was the monolithic Foundry the centre of Hyperspace Core construction.
Spanning nearly 2000km in length, with a breadth of 500km and height of 600km, the Foundry was the second-biggest ship
    construction facility in existence.

Every minute, a new hyperspace window would open to reveal a new Progenitor fleet
General Tau gave an order for preparing the galactic fleet for a possible battle..

Just then, a small, white light, grew to an incredible size and brightness and disappeared as quickly as it came.

The First Battle of Karos, had begun.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought that the action is very much accelerated.

More character development would be nice so as to complement the big space battle.

Anyway, looking forward to the Battle of Karos!
I have no strong feelings one way or the other.

Anyway, looking forward to the Battle of Karos!

    Plot

Besides, i'm a n00b here, and the main 'point' of the
    story are the battles.

I will try to develop the two most improtant characters
(Kaalra and Clendra) but the main character developments shall come in ACT III where acts I and II are mainly for the Xole War.

    Act II
    Chapter 1 - Devastation

    Onboard the Ultima, Karos Sector

    The Ultima's
Navigation officer announced, "Admiral, we have reached the Karos sector. Reinforcements from the
    Galaxy have arrived."

Renos nodded. He ordered, "Get General Tau on the line."
The General's firm and strong voice buzzed through the com links.
"Admiral Renos and Emperor Sajuuk, The Xoles are preparing to attack. We will have to hold them off until the rest of the Galactic
    Fleet can arrive."

<Affirmative. Admiral Renos to all ships, focus fire on the Omicron and the Vanaar Jet. DO NOT destroy the Vannar Jet
as it will cause a quantum chain reaction. Repeat, DO NOT destroy the Vannar Jet. >

As the Progenitor Admiral finished his orders, The Foundry launched nearly a thousand fighters and corvettes.
Several 'Keeper' class destroyer ships launched from the Foundry's docking bays, just as the already-assembled Progenitor
fleet began to move towards the Xole fleet.

The Three Progenitor megaships, The Storm, The Rage, The Saapa and the supreme ship the Ultima moved towards
the Xole megaships, The Omicron and the Vanaar Jet as well as two mini-mothership classes.

Before the Xoles could react, the Ultima blasted away at the enemy carriers whose shields could not withstand the wrath of
a thousand Ion beams and Pulse bullets. They lit up in a yellow light as their rectors went critical and a moment later, there was
nothing left of them by space dust.

The Vanaar Jet and the Omicron responded by sending a salvo of Electromagnetic pulse beams and a Quantum Pulse
blast directly at the Progenitor Flagship.

The 30 megaton impact on the Ultima's shield was no more then a soft drill of a kinetic weapon. However, several of the escorting
frigates lit up the Karos wastelands in a series of small explosions

"Status !", Admiral Renos cried. Sajuuk nearly smiled and said, "Shield power at 98% and rising fast. No need to be worried."
Just then, The Ultima sent a particle beam salvo directly on the Cruisers escorting the Omicron. Within Five minutes, every
single one of them were destroyed.

    ***

    Onboard the Storm, Karos Sector

Kaalra was doing all he could in maintaining the technical sector of the Mothership and the fleet.

This was the first time he had been in a war, and he certainly didn't like it.
His thoughts reeled him back to the past when he was young.

He was born in Galaxy P02, the first galaxy which was successfully colonised by the Progenitors.
He soon read his first book on hyperspace and the laws of Quantum Tunneling
Later, he also read about the theoretical conversion of energy into matter and also about the newly discovered Dark-Energy technology.

He became fascinated by it in a big way and soon vowed that, someday, he would make it possible to convert energy into
    matter.

Kaalra father, a leading scientist in the field of hyperspace research, always helped him and tried to answer many of his questions.
Unfortunately, he died while working at a research facility, which came under attack by the Xoles, and was destroyed by the Xole
    fleet.

Kaalra was one of the most brilliant Progenitors ever, and soon, it came to no surprise when he topped the Zero Institute of Theoretical
    Physics.
Later, the Emperor personally requested him to help in designing the Ultima.
Kalra immediately accepted the offer, by which he soon became one of the most respected of Progenitor scientists.

His thoughts faded away as the Storm shuddered upon impact with several fusion torpedoes launched by Xole destroyers.

There was work to be done.

    Onboard the Vanaar Jet

"All high", the Vanaar Jet's sensors officer replied, "We are picking up Time Distortions, it seems that our fleet will be arriving in
    thirty minutes."

Desolar Nodded. He sent a command, "All High Desolar to all ships, DO NOT fire on The Ultima. It is not possible to defeat in our current position. Reinforcements are arriving in thirty minutes. Focus fire on anything smaller then a SuperCarrier."

The All High then turned to his tactical officer. He asked him, "Status on the Quantum Distortion Missile."

<Your Grandness, the Quantum Missile is being charged. Estimated time for completion, twenty minutes.>

"Weapons control, focus fire on the Progenitor Mothership, Rage."

<This is weapons control, targeting the Rage.>

The Vanaar Jet resembled the shape of an extra large winged-frigate. It had small focusing array on the top and the bottom sides.
Banking to the left, the Vanaar Jet turned to face the colossal mothership, Rage.

The Xole Flagship fired all its Point Defense Systems on the mothership. The small arrays inserted on the Flagship glowed with
a bright green light before releasing a deadly amount of concentrated energy at the Progenitor's galactic mothership.

Onboard the Progenitor Galactic Mothership, Rage

The Mothership shook slightly as the shield absorbed the damage.
His tactical officer called out, "General we are being overwhelmed. The mothership cannot sustain her shield for more then five minutes !"
    Before the General could speak, Admiral Renos'es message came through the loudspeakers;

"Tau, micro-jump immediately behind the Ultima ! We cannot afford to lose the mothership. Renos out."

The channel closed just as General Tau waved his hand to signal the hyperspace jump.

The Rage opened a golden hyperspace window and exited just behind the Ultima.

As it exited hyperspace, the Karos system was lit up in a dazzling display of light as no less then twenty Keepers were eliminated by
the combined power of the Xole fleet.

Just then, a black hole materialized behind the Xole fleet.
    The reinforcements had arrived.

    Onboard the Auxiliary Mothership, Starlight

    Captain Enous Molrus stood waiting for his fleet to exit hyperspace when finally, his navigational officer called out;
"Captain Enous, we will be exiting hyperspace in one minute."

Captain Enous gave the order, "All ships, prepare to scramble just as we exit hyperspace. Cover the Ultima's fleet."

A golden hyperspace window opened before all the ships.
It revealed the greatest and biggest battle ever fought.
The fleet watched in awe as they saw the two huge flagships, the Ultima and the Vanaar Jet.

As the Starlight's docking bays began to release hundreds of fighters and corvettes, The entire fleet watched a missile
launch from the Vanaar Jet's frontal weapon hold.

The Quantum Distortion missile made it's way towards the Progenitor Foundry.
The action paused as both the Progenitor and the Xoles watched it's progress as it flew.
Emperor Sajuuk could feel the caos going on inside the monolithic Foundry, the people trying to run for their lives ...

The Missile finally impacted with the Foundry's hull.

The resaulting shockwave could be felt in every corner of the galaxy.

    Chapter 2 - Demolition

    Onboard The Saapa, Karos Sector

    Clendra could scarcely believe herself.
The Ultima's shields had protected them from the shock-wave and the Vanaar Jet's shields had protected the Xole fleet.

No ship resumed the fighting for at least five minutes.

Before both the fleets was the wreckage of the Foundry. It had spread out to an enormous distance, nearly 50 million Progenitor lives
and those of numerous scientists were lost. Only a mere 500,000 managed to make it to the escape pods in time.

With enormous mental effort, Clendra charged the Saapa's hyperspace cores beyond their safety limits.
The Trinity shone brightly, with a pure white light, growing rapidly in brightness.
The white light travelled slowly to The Saapa's frontal apex, from which the light soon burst out in the direction of the Omicron.

The pure Quantum energy managed to dissolve the Omicron and it's shields, so that, when the light finally disappeared,
the Xole auxilary Flagship and the surrounding ships vanished from the known Universe.

The rest of the fleet watched in awe as they resumed the fighting.

    ***

    Onboard the Vanaar Jet

Xolenoth All High Desolar watched in horror as he watched his old flagship crumble.
"Fleet Officer.", he asked, "Has Sovole managed to survive the explosion ?"

His fleet officer replied, "Your Grandness, we have spotted several escape pods escaping from the Omicron.
Let us hope that Commander Insoa is in one of them."

    Desolar nodded.
He asked further, "Give me an ETA until the new mothership is completed and uploaded with Quantum Missile Capability."

The fleet officer replied, "All High, Shipyards Omniscient and Fire are working on the new mothership.
    It will take two days."

<I want all production ships to produce as many warships as possible. Try and reverse-engineer the Progenitor Matter conversion
    technology.>

The officer bowed low and left to give the new orders.

The All High called out to his Tactical Officer,

<Order the Planet Destroyers and their fleets to fire on the Progenitor megaships. Leave the Ultima until further reinforcements
    arrive.>

As he turned to the viewscreens, a new fear lit up in Desolar's eyes as the Ultima and the Saapa turned to face the Vanaar Jet...

    ***

    Location Unknown

The Xole Mothership, Mu was in Singularity transit.

The Mu was a Tactical Mothership design.
It had the shape of a smooth spearhead, which had a vast array of point defense systems at all the sides.
The frontal apex held what seemed like an oversized Ion Cannon. Glittering around it were several acceleration rods.

General Torono Marious was in command of the Mu's fleet.
As his fleet zipped through the new dimension, he was starting to grow worried and hoped that he would make it in time.
The Vanaar Jet and the Ultima were Godly ships, but they were not invincible.

    ***

    Onboard the Auxiliary Mothership, Starlight

Captain Enous Molrus, the commander of the Starlight, was totaly horrified at the scene of Ultimate Devestation of
    the Progenitor Foundry.

He was now fighting for revenge, for peace...

As he gave some quick orders, The Starlight focused it's Phased Cannon Array on the nearest Xole Battlecruiser.
It lit up in a spectacular explosion while the mothership and it's fleet continued to advance towards the Xole Planet
    Destroyers...

Soon, they were backed by the Storm's fleet, which managed to exterminate several Xole fighters.

The Storm and the Starlight sent a golden beam of hyperwave particles, which melted through the armour of
    an unlucky planet destroyer.

The Saapa and the Ultima's shielding systems were hit by thousands of Ion Beams, Pulse Charges and Laser Guns
as they progressed toward the Xole flagship, Vanaar Jet.

Sajuuk knew that they held the upper hand, but things would change once more Xole reinforcements arrived....

    ***

Onboard a Shuttle, en-route to the Ultima, Karos Sector

Kaalra had spotted a weakness in the Vanaar Jet's and the planet destroyer's designs.

He was travelling onboard a shuttle, headed for the Ultima, in an effort to explain it to the Admiral.
He held the data disc tightly in his hand, as the shuttle manuvered towards the Flagship's frontal hangers.

As soon as the shuttle's door opened, Kaalra quickly made his way to the bridge.

    ***

    Onboard the Ultima, Karos sector

Emperor Sajuuk and Admiral Renos were impressed at what Kaalra had shown them.

Sajuuk quickly opened a communication channel with Clendra,

"Clendra, Kaalra seems to have spotted a weakness in the Vanaar Jet's and the Planet Destroyer's design.
He says that the Vanaar Jet can be destroyed by focusing particle beams on the Quantum Missile launching bay."

<Emperor, I will be unable to initiate a Pulse Attack as the Three Cores are not fully charged->

"That is not a problem. I will direct some of the Ultima's power output to you. Set course for the Vanaar Jet!"

Kaalra watched the Viewscreens as five more Progenitor Heavy Cruisers lighted up by the Planet Destroyers Antimatter missiles.

It was time to end this

    ***

Onboard the Vanaar Jet, Karos sector

Xolenoth commander Savole Insoa walked inside the Vanaar Jet's bridge.
He was still shaken by the day's events, he had also lost the Xole second Flagship.

Until further reinforcements arrived, there was no hope for the Xoles.

Before anyone asks, most of the Xole Flagships are named after the Greek letters.
    New Chapter-

    Chapter 3 - Desperation

Onboard the Xole MegaShipYard, The Veil

Xolenoth Unbound commander, General Fleo Garavol, watched as the Veil put the finishing touches on the new Xole Flagship
    the Qwaar Jet.

The All High had ordered the construction of this new ship at the same time as the Vanaar Jet.

The Qwaar Jet resembled a monolithic Dart.
With Ion canons and Plasma turrets on every side, the Qwaar Jet featured a very powerful shield generator, which could be seen
sprouting externally in the backward portion of the ship.

The frontal apex had a new weapon known as the Zero-Point Energy accelerator.
It was believed to have the power to Vaporise nebulae.

The Xole Biotech teams had inserted the General into the Flagship's Command Cubical.

The General began his address, "General Fleo to all Xole ships. We have no time to time to waste and we must assist the All High
and defeat the cursed Progenitors. In the name of his Grandness, Initiate warp-jump to Galaxy P50 !"

The new ship and it's fleet jumped into warpspace with a prototype warping module.
As the Singularity collapsed, the awe-inspiring Qwaar Jet travelled at a tremendous speed.

"Commander.", the Qwaar Jet's navigational officer called out, "Galaxy P50 is twelve-billion light years away.
    ETA, 24 minutes."

    ***

Onboard the Vanaar Jet, Karos sector

As the four Progenitor Super-Ships, Ultima, Saapa, Storm and the Rage glided at frigate-speeds towards the
Vanaar Jet and it's fleet, All High Desolar felt the sensation of deep fear, something he had not felt for a long time.

He saw commander Insoa's shuttle launch in the direction of the new Flagship, the Epsilon.

Similar in design to the Omicron, the Epsilon featured a new shielding system, made up using pure quantum
energies. Although it was not full completed, it was ready for launch.

Desolar then focused his attention on the another view-screen. He saw that the Progenitor flagships were coming steadily towards him.
The Ultima was constantly churning out new drones and movers, with the help of the matter conversion technology.

On the All High's orders, the Xole Fleet was doing a good job of resisting the Progenitor attack.

Progenitor fighter drones, corvettes and frigates were not able to survive the Xole attack, but the four Megaships
    proved to be unstoppable.

Small explosions took place every second as small ships stumbled to concentrated firepower.
Occasionally, several capital ships would be destroyed by the virtue of the Megaships' weapons.

The Epsilon powered it's vast Electromagnetic array, still firmly under the shipyard's gravitational fields, managed to
obliviate several Progenitor Keeper Destroyers and Heavy Cruisers.

The Progenitor Megaships responded by simontaneously powering up their Phased Canon Arrays resulting in the losses
    of several Xolenoth Battleships.

As the intense firefight continued, the Xoles were clearly losing the battle.

The All High shot a glance at the sensors, he saw a Quantum Distortion which he hoped was the Qwaar Jet.
It would not be arriving before at least ten minutes...

    ***

    Onboard the Saapa, Karos Sector

Clendra and the Saapa were travelling towards the Vanaar Jet.

She felt pure Quantum energy flood into the Saapa's hyperspace cores.
The Emperor had kept his promise.

She began initiating the Quantum Pulse attack.
A familiar white light inched towards the Saapa's frontal apex.

The white light shot towards the new Xole megaship, the Epsilon.
However, due to the virtue of the Epsilon's extra-strong shields, it was able to resist the shock wave which the
    minor ship classes were not.

Clendra let out a deep sigh and continued her course toward the Xole Flagship, the Vanaar Jet.

    ***

    Onboard the Epsilon, Karos Sector

    Commander Savole Insoa was pleased.
The new Mothership could easily resist the Saapa's pulse attack.

"Commander!" his fleet officer called out, "The Epsilon's shields are holding at 85% power."

The Commander acknowledged the reading as his ship charged it's Electromagnatic array to disable several Progenitor Ships.

    ***

    Onboard the Ultima, Karos Sector

Kaalra shot a quick glance at the sensors. He was co-ordinating the optimization of the shield generators.
An amazingly fast Quantum Distortion caught his attention. Using the Ultima's magnificent long-range sensors,
he quickly zoomed in and maintained a lock on the Quantum Anomaly.

To his horror, he saw the huge dart shape of the Qwaar Jet.

Advanced scans revealed the dreaded Zero-Point Energy weapon, something Kaalra had sworn was not possible to create.
And yet, the Xoles had defeated the Progenitors in the field of weapons science.

Kaalra quickly turned to the Progenitor Emperor and the Admiral,
"Emperor Sajuuk, I'm detecting a Xole fleet headed our way. The mothership appears to have an advanced weapon prototype."

    Admiral Renos did not flinch.
"Kaalra give me an ETA. Surely they cannot travel billions of light years so quickly? Isn't their technology inferior to ours?"

Kaalra shook his head. He rechecked the sensors.
"Admiral they will come in around seven minutes."

    The Progenitor Admiral looked horrified. He reached for the command microphone and gave a clear order;
"Admiral Renos to all ships, we are expecting Xole reinforcements. A very powerful megaships class ship is among them.
All units, assume defense formation around the flagship."

The Progenitor fleet responded by pulling away from the main battle.
The number of explosions lowered considrably as the fleet quickly formed a defensive line in front of the Ultima and the
    remaining flagships.

A minute later, there was a blinding flash of green light as the Qwaar Jet and it's fleet exited warpspace.

The Progenitors began charging thier weapons. They and the Xole had nothing left to fight with.

It was time for the final showdown.

    HW: The Rediscovered Past

WI'm going on a two-week vacation so the next chapter will not be out for some time.
This story is still active. Until then, here's chapter four, Act II

    Chapter 4 - Decision
Onboard the Progenitor Flagship, Ultima, Karos Sector

Kaalra-Sun was eyeing the Qwaar Jet's on the Flagship's internal sensors. Astonished by the new weapon system, he wondered what other secrets the
    new Xole ship held.

It was then that he eyed a obvious glaring deficit in the ship's design.

Unable to believe that the Xoles had made such a simple flaw, he jumped out of his chair and was soon at the door of
    the Emperor's command room.

Kaalra activated the holographic projector. It displayed an electronic breakdown of the Qwaar Jet.

The Emperor listened in astonishment as he heard the brilliant Progenitor's plan...

The Ultima turned to face the Qwaar Jet.

    ***

Onboard a Progenitor Infiltration Cruiser, Karos Sector

Luitenent Flortea Derol, the commander of the Progenitor Infiltration Cruiser, Intelligence 03, grinned broadly as she accepted
    the Progenitor Admiral's command.

As she reached for the command microphone, the sensors screen, focused on the Qwaar Jet caught her attention.

The Qwaar Jet was charging it's most powerful weapon for the first time.

Flortea quickly gave orders to her crew and the Cruiser altered it's course for the newly arrived Xole Megaship.

    ***

    Onboard the Saapa, Karos Sector

Clendra was focusing on getting in firing range of the Qwaar Jet.

The Saapa's Point Defense systems were able to obliviate any ship that came within firing range.

It was then that she noticed an energy spike on the new Progenitor Vessel.
She stared in disbelief as Time itself, was being compressed and concentrated to a point of immense energy.
Sending a mental command, she stopped the Saapa and diverted all power to the shielding systems.

The distorted energy leaped out of the Qwaar Jet, heading directly for the Progenitor Flagship.

The Pure Energy impacted with the Ultima's shields and let out a massive shockwave.

Only moments after the Zero-point energy attack, the Qwaar Jet's Particle Cannons began to assault the Ultima's
    Shields.

The Saapa was soon within firing range of the new Xole megaship.

The hardest part of Kaalra's plan was to disable a portion of the shields.

Clendra could sense three-hundred Progenitor Keepers approaching the Qwaar Jet...

    ***

    Onboard the Ultima

Admiral Renos held on as the Ultima shuddered violently due to the impact.
    "Status!" he cried.

    The Emperor responded,
"Shield power at 58 percent. We are maintaining 100 percent shield integrity. The Vanaar Jet and the Qwaar Jet are coming towards us!"

"Emperor, fire the Quantum Distortion Canon. Aim for the Vanaar Jet."

A brilliant blue light triangulated around the Progenitor Flagship. The beams merged together and shot forward in the direction of the
Vanaar Jet, vapourising any ship in it's path.

The Vanaar Jet's shield stressed to their limits and soon burst open, with the Ultima's point defense systems tearing down the
    outer armour.

The Xole Flagship began to withdraw from the main battle, it's place soon taken by the Epsilon.
Sajuuk watched silently as eight Heavy Cruisers were disabled by the Epsilon.

    Admiral Renos groaned.
"Redirect power from the ten cores to the shielding system."s

    ***

    Onboard the Mu

General Torono Marious cheered with the rest of the fleet upon the arrival of the Qwaar Jet and it's fleet.

The battle had finally turned towards their side, with a ship which could match the Progenitor Flagship in terms of firepower.

The Mu and it's fleet weaved in and out of the main battle, destroying several Progenitor ships, while sustaining some damage
    in turn.

The surrounding emptiness lit up in a constant series of small explosions, the result of the decimation of several fighter, corvette
    and frigate class ships.

Occasionally, a capital ship would scumble before concentrated firepower.

General Torono watched watched the Starlight with interest. Eventually, he commanded,
"Nav, alter course for the Progenitor Auxiliary Mothership, Starlight.

The Mu's side thrusters released pressurised plasma as they directed the ship towards it's Progenitor counterpart.

The large canon glowed with a red light which impacted with the Starlight's shields.

Several hundred Movers launched from the Progenitor ship's docking bays heading towards the Mu.

The small explosions intensified as more and more ships were destroyed.

    ***

    Onboard the Storm

Kaalra's plan was to disable a small section of the Qwaar Jet's shields.
Doing this would take a considerable amount of firepower, however, the Xoles had done the simple mistake of keeping all
their power sources near the same area.

If they could disable that small section, the Qwaar Jet would be completely offline.

Admiral Renos had taken the plan a step further and sent Infiltration Cruisers so that they could capture the Qwaar Jet
ad use it against the enemy.

Rear-Admiral Quint Itlo, the second-in-command of the Progenitor Fleet commanded the Storm.

The combined fleet of the Storm and the Rage were assaulting the Xole Megaship.

Admiral Quint was satisfied to see the decline of the shield energy readings of the Qwaar Jet but grew fearful as the Megaship
turned to face the Progenitor Motherships.

The Rage and the Storm were constantly emitting Phased canon blasts which lead to a steady drop in shield energy
    levels.

At the same time, they were suffering heavy losses as the Qwaar Jet's point defense systems obliviated several Progenitor ships.

The battle raged on as thousands on each side died every minute...

    ***

    Onboard the Qwaar Jet

General Fleo Garavol and the Qwaar Jet's crew were firing every Point Defense weapon they could get within range.
They had already destroyed sevral thousands of Progenitor ships, but the Qwaar Jet was not invincible.

Shield power was at a mere five percent, and any second now, shield integrity to the drive sections would be lost.

Just as the Qwaar Jet let out another Zero-point energy blast, the shields finally gave in.

The crew was surprised as the Progenitors suddenly stopped firing. A few seconds later, no less then fifty Infiltration Cruisers decloaked.

The General paitienty sent a command through the Megaship's channels.

"Xole warriors, prepare to defend yourselves!"

    Chapter 5 - Desperate Measures

    Onboard the Qwaar Jet

The Qwaar Jet's crew was totally horrified.

The Progenitors, it seemed, had employed a shrewd tactical maneuver.
The only thing that made sense to them right now was why the Progenitors were luring the Xole Megaship closer to the Storm.
The Ship Defense teams moved quickly to meet the Progenitor forces as the Qwaar Jet attempted to sneak out of the main battle...

In the Qwaar Jet's command cubical, General Fleo Garavol aimed the Point Defense Weapons on the advancing Progenitor Infiltration Cruisers.

The Progenitor Fleet continued to concentrate fire on the Qwaar Jet's Engines and weapon reactors.

As the Weapon and Engine Systems went critical, the Qwaar Jet stood dead in space...

    ***

    Onboard the Ultima

Emperor Sajuuk smiled in admiration as the Qwaar Jet's shields finally gave in to their firing.
The loss of countless Progenitor lives had not been wasted.

"Continue with the Operation", said Admiral Renos. "Focus Fire on any Repair Unit."

The weapons officer acknowledged the command and soon the Infiltration Cruisers began penetrating the Qwaar Jet's hull.

Just then, the Progenitor Emperor noticed the Entire Xole fleet moving towards the Qwaar Jet to help it.
The Vanaar Jet began redirecting all repair drones to support the Qwaar Jet.

Sending a mental command, he began charging the Phased Cannon Arrays and the Heavy Particles Cannons.
The Ultima's blue external distortion field formed a powerful bubble around the crippled Xolenoth Megaship.
Now the Qwaar Jet was trapped.

    ***

    Onboard the Vanaar Jet

"Fleet, what is the Qwaar Jet's status?" Desolar asked his officer.

"All High, the Qwaar Jet's shields are down. The Progenitors have disabled the ship's engines. They are boarding it while we speak."

"Redirect the Fleet to attack and destroy the Infiltration Cruisers."

"Not possible, your grandness. The Ultima and the Saapa have an extremely powerful Quantum Distortion Field around the Qwaar Jet."

"Very well. Continue the assault as usual. How long will the Distortion Missile take to charge?" said the Xolenoth All High, turning to his weapons officer.

"Ten Minutes, Your Grandness" the officer replied.

Desolar acknowledged the information with a nod of his head.
"Get Commander Insoa on the line." he ordered.

The Commander's firm face, now etched with concern and his red eyes etched with fear, materialized on the All High's viewscreen.
With a slight bow of his head, he began speaking, "Your Grandness, we have identified but one weakness in the enemy. They are using all their quantum energy on protecting themselves as
    well as our new Megaship."

"So why can we not drag them into warpspace, exit in an area of our dominance and finish them off for good?"

"Because, Your Grandness, they still have Warpspace Inhibitors active. Destroying the Ultima's inhibitor field will enable us to jump."

"Why did you not try this immediately?" Desolar asked, with a hint of anger in his voice.

"That is because such a maneuver is risky and will require your authorisation. We will have to redirect several of our Super Capital Ships to the task of disabling the inhibitors. I also recommend that Epsilon be involved in the operation."

"There is also a further complication; We will need to send this order to General Garavol on the Qwaar Jet. We need a combined Time Distortion Jump to be able to drag the Progenitor
Fleet into warpspace. There is a thirty-eight per cent chance of the Progenitors intercepting and decoding the message in time. I await your decision, All High."

Desolar stood silent and closed his eyes as he thought.

    This is the only way.

Taking a deep breath, he acknowledged the order.

    ***

    Onboard the Qwaar Jet

The Qwaar Jet's bridge was lit up in red emergency lights, with sirens blazing as the ship was being boarded.

General Flro Garavol and the Bridge Crew listened closely to the Imperial transmission.

The Qwaar Jet was now breached and thousands of Progenitor Marines were aboard the Great Ship.

    The Entire Bridge crew had only one thing on their minds;
Will the Inhibitors be disabled in time? Before the Progenitors can over-run the Qwaar Jet?

    ***

    Onboard the Ultima

The Decryption room contained Progenitor Hypercomputers, called so because they were the fastest ever made, were working as fast as they could.
The Room was in the shape of an oval, with soft white neon lighting and the dull hum of the working Hypercomputers.

Normally, a code would take only a few seconds to decode, but this code was protected by 2048bit encryption.

Kaalra stood besides the main workstation. He eyed the Estimated Decode Time and sighed.
Three Minutes Remaining he thought. Great.

Two minutes later, he felt the Progenitor Flagship vibrate slightly.
Setting his eyes upon the Viewscreen, he saw the Epsilon as well as several Xole capital ships firing on the Ultima's Reverse-Time Distortion modules.
The Point Defense Systems were doing their job as
a hundred pulse bullets and Ion cannons sliced many hulls.

    Thinking fast, he came to only two conclusions;
They want to escape and take us to their territory.

A beep from his viewscreen confirmed his doubt as it displayed a translated version of the Imperial Transmission.

As he reached for the intercom, he knew it was too late.

An massive black hole materialized, engulfing the Xole and the Progenitor Fleet.

It vanished a second later, leaving the ruins of the once-great Foundry behind it.

It sounds as if the war is coming to an end pretty quickly.

I hope that's not the case. A war as epic as the one the Progenitors took part in should not conclude too quickly.

    Chapter 6 - Capitalize

    Onboard the Ultima, Warp-space Transit

Kaalra let out an audible groan.
The sudden warp-jump had taken him and the rest of the fleet by surprise.

With no idea where the warp exit was, the Progenitors could only wait for it to stop. hyperspace cores had no effect in warpspace.

    Sighing, he walked into the elevator and punched at the 'Command Room' button. He then heard Sajuuk's voice in his head;
Kaalra, there was nothing that could stop this. We go where the Xoles want us to go. There we try our best and fight.

Do you have any idea where we are going, Emperor? Kaalra replied using telepathy.

Although psychic powers were inborn in all Progenitors, mastering them was difficult.
The Emperor was one of the best Progenitor Psychics, but it was the only subject in which Kaalra got an 'Average'.

I do believe we are headed for the Xolenoth home galaxy, the Emperor replied, But of course, one cannot be sure.

Kaalra nodded to the elevator's camera, and soon the door opened to reveal the Ultima's command room.
It had the shape of a perfect circle, with Sajuuk's command cubicle at one end, and the Admiral's command chair on the other end.
The Flagship's officers and their terminals, were arranged in three rows behind the Admiral's chair.

Neural interfacing systems had come a long way since their invention nearly three-thousand years ago.
They had now been simplified to simple metallic strips, embedded with nanochips and a solitary neural slot in the brain.
Unbound controllers could now retain full control over their physical body, which proved useful for emergency extraction.

Kaalra entered the room, which was busy with activity as usual. He saluted the Progenitor Admiral and bowed to the Emperor.
He then turned his attention to the large viewscreen, which was displaying the unending blackness of warpspace before them.

    ***

Onboard the Qwaar Jet, Warpspace Transit

The Qwaar Jet, which would later become known as the God of Pain and Enslavement, blasted through the eleventh dimension at thunderous speed.

Yet, the crew hoped desperately that they would make it to their home-galaxy before their enemy was in control of the ship.
Even then, as every minute passed, the Progenitors controlled more an more sections of the Qwaar Jet.

A message of hoped echoed through the ship sections; "Attention crew, this is General Garavol. We will be exiting warpspace to galaxy X01 in five minutes."

With that, the General went back to co-ordinating the ship's repairs and controlling the internal defense turrets.

Soon, a white light grew to a tremendous size, vanishing as it deposited the two fleets.

    ***

Onboard the Infiltration Cruiser Intelligence 03, The Veil MegaShipYard, Koa Sector, Galaxy X01

Wasting no time,.Lieutenant Flortea Derol immediately resumed sending in Marines to the Qwaar Jet.
Knowing that her Cruiser would soon be destroyed, she Loaded her Pulse Rifle, and sped off into the enemy ship.

Just as she had sealed the airlock, her Cruiser lit up in a dazzling display of light. And yet, another took it's place.

Sighing in relief, she sped off towards the Qwaar Jet's command room.

    ***

Onboard the Vanaar Jet, Koa Sector, Galaxy X01

Desolar gave a weak smile as the fleet exited hyperspace. Thousands of reinforcements from the Xole MegaShipYard would be arriving soon.

Back in action, he gave a clear order; "Discontinue all repair operations on the Qwaar Jet. Pull the remaining crew back. Disconnect General Garavol now! Release all the escape pods!"

Minutes after his order, the escape pods on the Qwaar Jet began to launch, holding the remainder of the Megaship's crew within them. Hopefully, the Progenitors would capture a dead ship.
Later, with the reinforcements from the Veil, he would be able to recapture the ship. What the All High did not notice, was the launch of several repair drones from the Storm, their
    destination, obvious.

The battle once again turned to favour the Xoles. The Vanaar Jet fired Ion Beam upon Ion Beam. The emptiness of the void was filled with the presence of thousands of pulse bullets...

The ten Xole Planet destroyers came to the front lines, raking the Starlight with their Heavy Particle Beams. The clash of a thousand frigates, dozens of Cruisers and Thousands of fighter drones
lit up the emptiness of space with the light of a Nova.

There was a blinding flash of light as one of the Planet Destroyers exploded with tremendous force, destroying any adjacent ships and shaking the entire sector.

Within the caos of the battle, the power of the Starlight's hyperspace distortion fields gave in.
The ship lit up as countless escape pods ejected from the midst of the explosion, several of the pods were not able to launch in time.

The battle raged on, for every ship destroyed, a dozen more came forward.

It was then that the Vanaar Jet's shields were overcome by five Phased Cannon Blasts from the Ultima.

In a definite anger, the Epsilon fired it Electromagnetic array directly at the Progenitor Flagship.

However, the power of the ten could not be undone. The Blue-energy was deflected to the Vanaar Jet.
The Battle stopped in mid-action as every ship's sensors noted the failing of the Xole Flagship's Life Support Systems...

    ***

Onboard the Saapa, Koa Sector, Galaxy X01

Clendra awakened her senses as the Saapa's sensors detected several escape pods launching from the Vanaar Jet.

With a thought of concentration and power, the three cores once again lit up in a dazzling golden light, gradually building up at the frontal apex.

A massive highly concentrated ray of light emerged and engulfed the former Xole Megaship.

It did not explode, but it radiated an immense white light before disappearing from the four dimensions...

    ***

    Onboard the Epsilon, Koa Sector

The Xolenoth All High looked shaken as he entered the Epsilon's bridge. His face had turned white and his eyes showed every sign of fear.
He subconsciously returned the salutes given by the Mothership's officers. Having only barely escaped the FlagShip, he was certain that he would have to die today anyway.

Turning to the fleet's commander, he asked, with a slight quiver in his voice, "What chance do we have now? The FlagShip is gone, the Qwaar Jet is captured, it will
only be a matter of time before we lose the Epsilon too.

The Commander replied, "All we can do is fight, All High. We should have scuttled the Qwaar Jet when we-"

"Commander, All High!" the sensors officer called out, his eyes flashing with fear.

    "What is it?" Insoa replied.

"Commander, the Ultima and the Saapa are using their matter beams to heal the Qwaar Jet! Estimated time before completion two minutes."

Stunned, Savole Insoa turned on the viewscreens.
Sure enough, the Saapa and the Ultima were emitting bright golden beams from their Phased Cannon Arrays.
The modules on the Qwaar Jet were being reconstructed at lightning speed. A quarter of the Progenitor Fleet was guarding the former Xole Megaship, as if daring the Xole to attack.

Desolar turned to another viewscreen. On it were written the deadly words; "Zero Point Energy Blast Charging.... Estimated time remaining - fifteen minutes."

The Epsilon, it's crew, The Xole All High and the Xolenoth High Commander were now officially doomed.

    ***

    Onboard the Ultima, Koa Sector

"Admiral ! Electromagnetic Pulse inbound ! Twenty Seconds to impact." the Tactical officer said.

Renos nodded. "Intensify directional deflector shield !" Redirect all Progenitor ships to fire on the Epsilon."

The Progenitor Flagship vibrated as the shields deflected the EMP. Readjusting it's course, it turned to face the wall of nine Planet Destroyers.
The Progenitor Fleet Began it's attack run.

The wall of the nine Planet Destroyers lit up and exploded one by one as the Progenitor Fleet rained them with millions upon millions of damaging energy beams, pulses, Phased Canon Weaponry...
The Koa Sector witnesses light on a magnitude never seen before....

Finally, the Qwaar Jet, now fully repaired and in Progenitor Control, charged it's most powerful weapon.

The Intense beam sliced the Epsilon into a clear half.

A series of explosions lit up the Mothership. Soon, there was nothing left but debris.
Sajuuk powered up the fleet's warpspace inhibitors. There were many Xoles left, but now, they were demoralized.

The Progenitor-Xole war, the greatest the Progenitors had ever fought was now over.

Every Progenitor hoped that no future war would be fought on this scale.

Two Hundred years later, we would know that they were wrong....

    Now begins the story...

    ACT III

    Prelude

    ***

Three Hundred years have passed since the end of the Progenitor-Xolenoth wars.

Though the Progenitors won the war, they did not win the Xole race. Only the Xole fleet was defeated. Not the people.
Although the Xoles disliked their evil All-High, they were unwilling to be a part of the Progenitor Empire.
Sajuuk was not willing to start another war, and did not want to force the Xoles to his side. After all, what is the point of governing people who are
    not loyal to you?

Finally, an agreement was reached; The Xoles would be a part of the Progenitor Empire, but would be granted two 'special' exempts.

One, Although they acknowledged the supremacy of the Emperor, they would choose their own separate Imperial linage, and it would be their
new All-High who would have direct control over their Super cluster's internal workings.

Two, The Emperor's Edicts would prevail over the Xole laws only in security issues.

However, It has been said that evil cannot be truly destroyed, and Sajuuk knew that it was true.
There many Xoles willing to take the positions of power. Even then, only the violent and the evil got to the top.

Slowly, over the period of time, the Xolenoth Super cluster grew corrupt. In Sajuuk's final years, he could sense the approach of an another war.
However, this would not be a Progenitor-Xole war; it would be a civil war. Countless Xoles and Progenitors had changed their allegiance toward
the greater good, or the evil.

In the year 5307 PSY, the rebellion came into full-force – a small galaxy was captured by the rebels.

Once again, two superclusters would be plunged into a terrible and destructive war...

    ***

The Progenitor Emperor Koshiir, a decedent of Sajuuk walked into the Phylozon legislature room. The Phylozon was the Progenitor governing body.
He was wearing the traditional royal robes; dark blue with two horizontal red stripes on them- the Progenitor logo, signifying radiance and enlightenment.
He had a sharp, commanding face with kind purple eyes.

The assembled crowed rose in respect to greet him. With a hand gesture, he asked them to sit.
    No sooner had they all sat, the Progenitor Admiral rose from his position and began to speak;

“Emperor, I have news of further developments taking place in the rebellion.”

    “Tell me.” Koshiir replied.

Admiral Fumo's deep voice suddenly became thinner, “We have lost Galaxy P10 to the rebel influence.”

Emperor Koshiir's face grew stern and forbidding, “Wasn't the Qwaar Jet defending that galaxy?”

“It was Emperor. We lost contact from it six standard hours ago. It could have been captured or destroyed. The council fears the worst.”

Koshiir's eyes slid in and out of focus. “How?”

“The same way your grandfather captured it in the first place.” Fumo replied.

The Emperor's chief adviser, Lamdwe Geroo stood up and turned to face the Emperor.
“Due to the new developments, the Phylozon had decided to commission three new dreadnought-class ships the assist the Sajuuk.”
The Saapa was renamed the Sajuuk as a tribute to the great Emperor.

Koshiir nodded. “A wise decision, but how can three dreadnoughts make a big difference?”

To answer his question, Admiral Fumo stood up.
“They are no ordinary dreadnoughts, Emperor.” he said.

A Female Progenitor sitting next to the Admiral stood up. The Emperor recognized her to be the newly-appointed Royal Engineer.
    Her name was Tella Denso.

With a short bow, she began speaking, “Emperor, these dreadnoughts contain the finest Phased Canon Arrays ever created for their size. They also
have a very powerful shielding capabilities. Triple-layer hyperspace distortions and a single layer energy field. They are also fitted with five nanite
    canons for drone-defense.”

Koshiir arched his eyebrows. “Why only three and not more?”

Admiral Fumo answered the question, “Emperor, all the MegaShipYards have full construction queues. Also, construction of these dreadnoughts require
    several engineers.”

    “Surely we can provide -”

But the Progenitor Admiral cut him off. “No, Emperor. There is one more issue that requires your authorization.”

    Lamdwe stood up.
“The Phylozon has decided to construct another mega-ship class vessel for the war effort.”

Koshiir looked surprised. “But we still have the Vanaar Jet, the Sajuuk and most importantly, the Ultima. Why waste resources on another ship?”

After the Xole war, Sajuuk had descovered the the Vanaar Jet was not destroyed. Clendra pulse attack had hyperspaced it directly to the Zero System.

“The Phylozon does not wish to risk the Ultima to all-out combat. Although it has been invincible so far, there is a high chance that it is the
rebellion's main target.” the Admiral replied.

Emperor Koshiir considered the issue for a moment.
If the rebels were able to capture the Qwaar Jet, they might be having enough resources to capture Ultima. This cannot be allowed
    to happen.

The Admiral nodded, reading his thoughts, “Recent advances in hyperspace manipulation, shielding and defensive systems have paved a path for the
development of megaship-class planetary defense ship types.”

Tella began speaking, “Emperor, I have already designed the essential systems. It is completely possible, but the amount of power required for
the shielding systems will avert the construction of weapon systems.”

The Emperor nodded. A shield which can defend a planet?

Admiral Fumo nodded again. With a flicker of a smile, he added, “We have decided to name it the Koshiir Ra, after your majesty.
    He who protects what is.”

With that he passed a digital fingerprint device to the Emperor. “Do you give us the Imperial command Emperor? The Koshiir Ra will take three Zero
    months to construct.”

Koshiir blinked. After a moment's thought, he pressed his finger to the data pad. It flashed green.

    “Act approved. Begin construction immediately.”

I would just like to make this observation: This is halfway between a story and a screenplay. The constant switching of perspectives between two or twelve ships is really consufing.

Well, I did mention that this is ACT III, the writing style changes a bit so that I can add more detail to the story.

About the ships-I can't really help it. A massive war would have many flagships on each side who each have different abilities.

  30. #30
I think you could help it, but you're not interested in doing so. My guess is you aren't looking at it as a reader, so it doesn't bother you at all. I know this is late advice, but I was thinking it would change sooner.

For instance, a solution might be to select two ships, and only detail the battle as seen from the perspective of their bridge crews. All you'd have are reports from communication officers, internalized first-person accounts, and third-person description of the view out their bridge. I think that the current problem is that you have NO constraints, and suddenly your character roster swelled to dozens, none of whom I care a lick about. Sometimes, limiting yourself can make for some seriously interesting storytelling.

Case in point: I've found it a lot easier to deal with stories if they have around 2-4 primary characters in which plenty of story time is invested in making one see into them, and understand them. To make writing my own fic easier, I focused on just the central character, and built outwards from her, but always kept the story around her. I would've gone wacko trying to do all these different characters' minds, and the like. X_x Something to be said for walking before running.

Oh, and dg's suggestion I've seen work very well in assorted novels. Makes for some good battle suspense--watching the interplay between two opposing commanders, and their ships as the fight goes on.

    Thanks people!

    ACT III

    Chapter One

The Imperial Palace, Mazz Doma, Progenitor Capital, A01

    “Grandfather.”

    “Yes Koshiir?” Sajuuk replied.
The ten cores had extended his life considerably, although he was not the Emperor anymore.
Progenitor Law prevented any Emperor for ruling for more then fifty years.

Koshiir's voice showed sight traces of frustration, “Why did this happen at all? Once again, a meaningless war will shroud the Empire into darkness.
Why did the Xoles choose another evil and corrupted leader?”

“It is their nature.” Sajuuk replied calmly. “When I first defeated the Xoles, I knew that the peace was not going to last for long. Our races are
alike... and yet they are opposites. This rebellion was inevitable. You will need to face a far more powerful force then what I had faced, Emperor.”

The new Progenitor Emperor calmed down slightly, but his purple eyes still had traces of weariness etched on them.
“Do you think I made the correct choice about constructing the Koshiir Ra? Will it not consume too many resources?”

“You did.” Sajuuk replied, “That new ship may be your key to victory. Imagine what would have happened if I had not forced the Phylozon for constructing the Ultima?”

Koshiir nodded. He asked his final question, “Do you believe that the rebels have a very powerful flagship? Or any flagship at all?”

Sajuuk closed his eyes as he considered the question. “Yes. The Rebels may be having a flagship as powerful as the Ultima.
Be very careful Koshiir, this war will not be won easily.”

Koshiir nodded as he switched off his com-device. Sajuuk's hologram flickered and then disappeared.

Just then, Koshiir's com-device emitted another hologram, this time of Admiral Fumo.
With a respectful bow, he began speaking, “Emperor I request your presence at the Intelligence HQ. We have reports of further developments on
the Xoles, indicating the presence of a very powerful flagship. We await your arrival.”

Koshiir grew worried as his elevator's doors sealed themselves. Sajuuk had proved to be right as usual. “How right?” he thought.

    ***

    Progenitor Intelligence HQ, Mazz Doma

Emperor Koshiir stepped into the Main Room of the HQ. Admiral Fumo and Fleet Intelligence Gofe Sero bowed as he approached them.

“What have you got?” Koshiir asked, knowing from the Admiral's stern expression that it was certainly very bad news.

As an answer, Gofe turned around and switch on a hologram device. It displayed a most unique design, resembling the old Xolenoth Planet Destroyers.

The Rebel Flagship looked like a giant twelve pointed star, with twelve long 'leg' structures fixed at the side. Upon further inspection, Koshiir saw
a massive fixed cannon in the star shape center, circled by various movable point defense weapons.

“They call it the Tinem-Cor, 'The Wrath of Tinem', who was the Supreme god of the Xolenoths.
The Ship is highly advanced and very powerful. It has almost imperishable Armour.”

“Weaknesses Admiral?” Koshiir asked, walking around the hologram with his eyes taking note of every detail.

“One, Emperor.” Fumo replied, punching at a few keys.
The Hologram zoomed in to detail on the Tinem-Cor's exact center. The huge cannon at the center looked like a pulse attack weapon. However, surrounding it were several gaps in the Ultrastructure. They looked like holes with no defenses.

“They are believed to be cooler pipes for the main canon. If we can sneak marine Cruisers inside, we may be able to board the ship. However it
    will certainly not be easy.”

The Emperor fell into deep thought. Certainly the rebels would not leave such an easy flaw like this. But at this, Koshiir remembered the
Qwaar Jet, which also fell victim to improper design. Even so, the Qwaar Jet required a significant fleet to capture it. Yet, the
Rebels had managed to do it once again, even after upgrading the shielding system.

“Very well Admiral. We will try your strategy. In the meantime,” Koshiir said turning to Sero, “Did you manage to find out how the rebels captured the Qwaar Jet? Or even destroy it?”

“No, Emperor.” Sero replied, “We lost contact with it without any distress signals at all. This had led to some disturbing conclusions, they must have blocked the Qwaar Jet's communications array, which is quite difficult to do without advanced jamming technology or control nanites.”

Koshiir's com-device started to beep. He nodded to the Intelligence Chief, “Keep me updated on the situation. I need to go.”

Sero nodded as the Emperor walked away to his elevator. Something told him that the Rebels had a nasty surprise for the Progenitors...

awsome take on the progs, and the xoles are neat also. good story so far, cant wait to see how it end.

I kinda always thought of Sajuuk as a Captian of a vessel that went rouge or something like that, but meh, this is way awsome too.

    Chapter Two

    Onboard the Creator, Zero System

The Creator had undergone a massive modification after the Progenitor Xolenoth war. It had proved impossible to reconstruct the Foundry after it's destruction.
The Quantum Distortion missile had irradiated the entire structure with 'holes' in hyperspace. Even with the help of the Ultima's and the Sajuuk's matter converter, radiation on such a large scale proved to be impossible to clear up. No ordinary hyperspace drive was able to penetrate that sector of space.

The Karos sector had been renamed the “Karos Graveyard”.

Eager to avoid shortage of Megaship-Construction facilities, the Creator was expanded to the size of a large moon. It became more like a colony then a shipyard.
It now resembled a gigantic cuboid, glittering with light and massive projections shooting out of it, as well as several large holes, through which ships exited after construction or repairs.

Sajuuk gazed silently into the emptiness of the Void, lost in deep thought.
He had come here to watch over the construction of the Koshiir Ra, as his grandson had requested him to.

Also under construction were the three new Dreadnoughts, the Light, the Star and the Magnificence. All three were of exactly the same design. They were configured with the Sajuuk
as a security measure, plans included them to be an unlocking system for a gate in Galaxy P50. However, that was only a backup measure.
Sajuuk hoped that the situation would not be bad enough for the Phylozon to order the Megaship to be hidden in the Galactic core.

The same technique had been used with a Progenitor Megaship called the Divinity. It was known as the 'Divine Diversion'.
They had built an uncrackable gate to the galactic core of galaxy P03, and it had proved to be an effective diversion.

The Divinity was hidden inside the core, and the gate was the only entry. Since the Xoles did not know the precise co-ordinates where it was hidden, they were unable to extract it without
risking themselves to the black holes.

Desperate, they attacked the Hyperspace gate, in an effort to crack it open. However, at that precise moment, the entire Progenitor Galactic fleet hyperspaced to that area and destroyed them.

Sajuuk slowly turned his gaze to the Progenitor homeworld, Zero Prime. Floating gracefully through the interstellar seas, Zero Prime was still abandoned. No effort had been taken for re-colonization as it would then be the rebels' primary target.

A com-device lit up. It displayed a clear message, Your Excellency Sajuuk, we request your presence at the Command Room.

Sighing, Sajuuk got up and walked towards his elevator.
After punching a few buttons, it shot off toward the Shipyard command room, zipping along the zero-gravity track at the thrice the speed of sound...

    **

    Progenitor Intelligence HQ, Mazz Doma

“Are you sure, Sero?” Emperor Koshiir asked, horrified.

“Absolutely, Emperor.” the Head of Intelligence replied, “Not only do the rebels have three-hundred, Flagship-class vessels, designed exactly like their Flagship, but on a smaller scale, they also appear to be developing a new techno-organic nanite, able to subvert enemy ships.”

“The situation is much worse then I thought.” Koshiir replied, still in the state of shock.
He turned to the Admiral, “Admiral Fumo, I want the entire fleet to go on yellow alert. In the meantime.” Koshiir turned to Sero, “Find out where they are developing this nanite. I want a strike team to take that research facility down immediately.”

“Yes Emperor.” Fumo replied, “But we will be unable to do so without help from either the Sajuuk and it's Dreadnoughts, or the Vanaar Jet.”

“Very well, Admiral. Get to work immediately. You may use the Vanaar Jet, I think that the Sajuuk would do better to defend then to attack.”
Fumo bowed and walked out of the room.

After a moment's pause, he tuned to Tella, “I want to know how the construction of the Koshiir Ra is going.”

“Perfect Emperor, we are ahead of schedule. I estimate completion within three-standard days.” Tella replied. Koshiir nodded.

“The Dreadnoughts are also almost on the verge of completion,” She continued, “As is the Backup gate. The Rebels do not know anything about the Gate, but they have found out about the Dreadnoughts and the Koshiir Ra, as you would be aware.”

Koshiir nodded yet again. He eyed a view screen, which was displaying an image of his grandfather, listening carefully to the conversation.

“She is right Koshiir” Sajuuk said. “You better get ready. Open war is almost upon us.”
    Sajuuk's image flickered and disappeared.

    Onboard the Tinem-Cor, Unknown Location

The tall, figure looked at the virtual image of his spy with an uncomfortable expression on his face.

“I did not expect that the cursed Progenitors would find out about our new project.” he said.

“Nor did I, All High.” his spy replied.

“We need to improvise. Koshiir is much more intelligent then I expected. Keep a close watch on his activities. Dismissed.”

The Hologram dissolved into the darkness of the Bridge.

The tall figure knew that conflict was now inevitable. He did not care.
    “Prepare for War.” he whispered.

    The Command Room, The Creator

Sajuuk, Emperor Koshiir and Admiral Fumo waited patiently for the Vanaar Jet's fleet to arrive at galaxy X77. They were to watch it's progress from the Creator's command room.
All three of them had their eyes fixed continuously on a large viewscreen; the Megaship was due to exit an accelerated hyperspace jump to the Rebel Galaxy X77, where the Tinem-Cor and Qwaar Jet were found to be located.

The Vanaar Jet's mission was clear – Recover the Qwaar Jet. Return it to Galaxy P01 so that the Progenitor fleet could mount a combined attack the Tinem-Cor.
The only concern was the Tinem-Cor itself. This operation had to be completed in a short timespan, to prevent the Rebel Flagship from interfering with the mission.

Admiral Fumo had sent the Vanaar Jet along with three-fourths of the home galaxy defense fleet. Since the Ultima was in patrol of this galaxy, it's defense was adequate.

The Third galactic fleet numbered with two Motherships, The Vanquisher and the Victor, along with the Vanaar Jet as flagship, thirty-seven carriers, fifty Heavy and Battle Cruisers, as well as thousands of frigates and drone fighters.

The Admiral and Koshiir knew that the fleet was good enough to take on the Tinem-Cor as well, if the need be. At least to give enough time to escape.

Koshiir did know that his grandfather, was not too sure about the strength of the Third fleet. Sajuuk had comfort only in knowing the fact that the Koshiir Ra was near completion. The three Dreadnoughts were already in active service, helping to protect Galaxy P50 with their Flagship. Sajuuk also knew the Commander of the third fleet personally.

Rear-Admiral Vera had proved to be a very capable battle-manager. She was responsible for the recent re-capture of the Galaxy X05. She was also one of the youngest admirals in the Progenitor's history. Hard times often bring out the best in some people – and the worst in others. Koshiir knew that his grandfather trusted her dedication to the Empire with great respect.

Koshiir stole a glance at the “Estimated Time Remaining for arrival” penal. It was indicating that sixty seconds remained until the Vanaar Jet reached it's destination.
He nodded to Admiral Fumo, who began beaming a clear message, “Attention, 03ed fleet! This is Admiral Fumo. You are due to arrive at the Demor Nebula, located in Galaxy X77. Fleet to maximum alert. Keep your shields active as soon as you arrive, minimize damage from the control nanite. May the Divine watch over you all.”
The Demor Nebula was chosen as an exit location because it was an excellent location for preparing stealth attacks.

A beam of quantum energy traveled through the vast emptiness of the Void, at a trillion times the speed of light.
Thirty seconds later, the quantum communication pulse arrived at it's destination; a vast nebula, packed with several thousands of multicolored hyperspace windows, sliding away to reveal a gigantic fleet.

    ***

Onboard the Vanaar Jet, Demor Nebula, Galaxy X77

“We have arrived.” said Admiral Vera. “Fleet on maximum alert! Begin resourcing operations.”

The Rear-Admiral scanned the senor reports closely. No Rebel ships were close to their location. Although, they now had the time to further strengthen their fleet, they now had to search the galaxy for the Qwaar Jet.
Luckily, the Qwaar Jet's energy output was easily detectable – it was designed to be a warship, not a stealth ship.

Admiral Vera signaled the Astronavigation teams to begin the scan.
In the meantime, she turned to the Emperor, who with Admiral Fumo and Sajuuk, was monitoring the operation, “Emperor Koshiir, Admiral and Your Excellency Sajuuk,” she began in a formal tone, “We have successfully arrived at the Demor Nebula. So far, we have had no hostile encounters. We are currently searching the Galaxy for the location of the Qwaar Jet.”
She closed the communication channel, knowing that the message would take at least thirty seconds to reach the Creator.

No sooner had she turned, the sensors officer gave the results of the search, “Commander, we have located the Qwaar Jet's unique energy signature. It seems to be located at Sector-29, The Tarima System, the Capital of this Galaxy. Sensors are also picking up a large escort fleet. The Tinem-Cor is currently at the opposite side of the Galaxy.”

“Excellent. Navigation, initiate wake-jump to the Tarima Sector. All forces on full combat alert.”

“Hyperdrives synchronized, the fleet is ready.”

    The Admiral nodded.

    “Jump!”

    Onboard the Tinem-Cor, Galaxy X77

“All High,” the Tinem-Cor's sensors officer said, “We are detecting unknown power fluctuations in the Demor Nebula. Investigation is underway.”

“It seems that the Progenitor scum have arrived a little early for our welcoming party.” the tall figure said with an evil smile, “Admiral, increase fleet stage to yellow alert. If they indeed are the Progenitors, give them a warm welcome with our control nanite.”

“As you say, your grandness.” said the Rebel Admiral. He left without another word.

    Chapter Four

    ***

    The Vanaar Jet, Hyperspace Transit

“Admiral, we are due to arrive at the Tarima Sector in one-hundred and twenty seconds.” announced the Navigational officer of the third fleet.
The Vanaar Jet's fleet was using a low-power hyperspace signature in an effort to minimize detection in the fifth dimension.
The result was slow travel- but it was acceptable if it improved their chances of successfully completing the mission.

Rear-Admiral Vera picked up her command microphone.
She sent her fleet a clear instruction, “Attention 03ed fleet! This is Admiral Vera. We are about to exit hyperspace in less then two minutes; keep your shields at maximum power. Prepare for immediate contact with the rebels! Vera out.”

Next, she sent a text message to the Progenitor Emperor, We have arrived. Recapture of the Qwaar Jet will be underway shortly.
No sooner had the message been sent, a glittering golden hyperspace window appeared in front of the Progenitor Megaship, throwing it back into realspace.

The Viewscreens displayed a large and populated yellowish planet, Tarima Prime.
Over that planet stood a Monolithic space platform; the rebel central research facility – the third task force's secondary objective.

The Research facility, codenamed, the Discoverer of Darkness, bore resemblance to a gigantic titanium rod.
Half a kilometer in width and nearly ten in height, this was the place responsible for the creation of the rebel's horrific new conversion nanite.

More terrifying, however, was the vast fleet gathered in front of the research facility.

Although it was no match for the size and the firepower possesed by the Third fleet, it was still a threat.

The Qwaar Jet and it's escorting fleet stood awaiting the third Progenitor fleet.
This was only bad news; it meant that the Rebels knew the plan to recapture the Qwaar Jet and had got a hint of their arrival.

Admiral Vera wasted no time as the Rebel ships started firing a deadly conversion nanite on the Progenitor Motherships. However, it bounced harmlessly off the shielding systems.

“Continue Charging the Quantum Distortion missile.” the Admiral ordered, “Fleet, engage hostiles! Full evasive maneuvers, target all ships which have a the conversion nanite!”

“Affirmative, Admiral! The Quantum Distortion missile will be ready in fifteen minutes.”

The fleet responded immediately. Battle and Heavy Cruisers fired beams of light, glowing high-power ion cannons and thousands of fusion torpedoes. A hundred destroyers targeted their weapons at the enemy frigates which began to fall one-by-one.

But the Rebel's control nanite swarmed over the Progenitor fleet, weakening shields and converting ships to fight for their side.
The com channels were filled with screams- screams of pain, of the loss of consciousness, and of being trapped and controlled by a powerful biological being; binding an individual life for all eternity - or death.

Shocked, Vera brought the old Xole Megaship to the front lines.

Along with hundreds of fighter drones and corvettes, the lance beams, ion cannons, phased and particle weapons tore though the enemy amour, slicing many capital and super capital ships with intense firepower.

However, as the conversion of the Progenitor ships continued, many a ships self-terminated themselves; It is better to die then to betray the race we come from, as the captains had decided.

As the Qwaar Jet lighted up a new series of Progenitor frigates, Admiral Vera decided to take her chance.

“Attention to all marine Cruisers, initiate cloak and travel to the Qwaar Jet's docking positions. All cloak capable ships, engage cloak and travel to the other side of the Qwaar Jet.
We will need to take advantage of it's low-shield condition.”

With that, one fourth of the Progenitor Fleet went into cloak mode. Using their inertia less and Gravity drives, they traveled across the length of the Qwaar Jet.

The Rebels, apparently aware of what had just happened, started forming a defensive sphere around the captured Megaship.
The Infection-Capable ships, however, started firing at anything in range.

Admiral Vera smiled. This was her gift; injecting fear into her opponents, making them panic while destroying them one-by-one.
Continuing to give orders, it was not long before the fighters and corvette drones; which could fly fast enough to avoid the infection beams, manged to eliminate the ships which had the infection ability.

The Tarima Sector lit up with exploding ships. Not since the Xole wars had the planet witnessed such a large-scale battle.

The Vanaar Jet now turned to it's primary target; the Qwaar Jet, which would later become known as The God of Pain and Enslavement in Galaxy P50.

The Vanaar Jet had the advantage, as the other Megaship was not fully repaired. Slowly, steadily, the guard surrounding the God of Pain and Enslavement was sliced apart by the Progenitor Megaship's Point Defense Systems.

Just as victory was assured, a massive black hole materialized into high orbit over Tarima Prime; with it was the dreaded rebel flagship...

    ***

Onboard the Creator, High Orbit over Zero Prime

“Emperor, we have an issue which requires your attention” said a senior intelligence officer, whose name was Kiro Vey.

“I am in the middle of an important operation.” Koshiir replied, looking irritated. He turned to the Admiral, “Fumo, if you could please...”

    “Yes, Emperor.”

The Progenitor Admiral walked towards Kiro, who began to tell him something hastily. The Admiral's face showed an expression of concern.

Meanwhile, Koshiir was monitoring the Third Fleet's progress, satisfied that it had managed to destroy all the infection capable ships.
Sajuuk had gone to oversee the progress of the Koshiir Ra, which was in the final stage of construction and was to be launched within the next forty-eight hours.

The Admiral returned to Koshiir with a grave expression, “Emperor, Intelligence reports that the a Rebel Fleet is on an intercept course with this galaxy. They are due to arrive in three days.”

    Koshiir looked shocked.

“Wha-” -but he froze in mid sentence.

The Viewscreen in front of him had just displayed the information that the Tinem-Cor had just hyperspaced above Tarima Prime – Thirty Seconds ago.

Gulping, he gripped a command microphone and ordered, “Complete the secondary objective. Abort mission. There is nothing you can do about the Tinem-Cor without the Koshiir Ra.

So began the Second Great War.

Once again, there would be the same – Destruction, Devastation, Loss of life – it was endless.

Little did Koshiir know, that in this war, the Progenitor Empire, which had survived united for nearly seven thousand years – first as a Republic, then as an Empire, would break into pieces.

One galaxy after the other, the Rebels would try and conquer, blinded by their own greed, they would leave defeated – scattering each galaxy with derbies – But for how long would the Progenitors be able to resist the wrath of the
    Tinem-Cor and it's Fleets?

    ***

    It was over.

Admiral Vera knew this, seeing the sheer size of the First Rebel fleet, the Monolithic Flagship, and the fleet numbers, she knew that she would have to withdraw.
There was only one thing they could destroy; The massive Rebel research Facility, by the use of the Vanaar Jet's Quantum Distortion missile.

Through the chaos that resulted from the Rebel Flagship's arrival, Admiral Vera gave a single command, “Fire the Quantum Distortion missile: Target the Discoverer of Darkness.”

“Commencing Launch Sequence... Missile launched!” came the voice of the Weapons officer.

Vera gave yet another order as the missile traveled to it's target, “Full power to hyperdrives, get us out of here!”

The 03ed Progenitor Fleet was engulfed by several hyperspace windows, disappearing to the fifth dimension.
Just as the Progenitor Fleet left, the Tinem-Cor generated a brilliant blue shield around it's fleet as well as the research facility.

The Missile exploded, the shield remained intact, but Tarima Prime did not.

The Planet exploded, with it remains hurling through the emptiness of the Void, shattering everything that came in it path; everything that was outside the Blue Shield.

Deep in the command room of the Rebel Flagship, the tall, Evil figure gave himself a cunning smile.

“That planet was worthless. We have suffered no actual casualties.”

    Chapter One

Onboard the Creator, High orbit over Zero Prime

Koshiir Ra launch procedures underway.” came a soft, female voice; the voice of Tella Denso, the Designer of the Koshiir Ra.

Desperation, was the common feeling among the Progenitors in every Galaxy. A mere Twelve hours had passed since the Third Progenitor fleet had escaped into hyperspace, fleeing away from the dreaded Rebel Flagship, the Tinem-Cor. The fleet was due to arrive in High orbit within an hour.

The Creator was bursting with activity. The Koshiir Ra was to be launched within fifteen minutes. The Ultima and it's awe inspiring fleet was floating peacefully over the Progenitor Homeworld.

Sajuuk had already left for Galaxy P50. As the Viceroy of that Galaxy, it was his duty to oversee the operations of the Galactic fleet.

Emperor Koshiir was walking silently down the hallway leading to the Koshiir Ra's docking point. It was his wish to be the Unbound Commander for the Megaship.
Although new advances in Artificial Intelligence did not require the presence of an Unbound controller, there was no time left for coding the software necessary for a completely new ship design.

The Ultima, too, required an Unbound controller due to it's sheer size and diversity of functions. No A.I. yet devised was successful in doing the job.

    ***

The new Megaship drifted silently over the Progenitor Homeworld.

With a design similar to the Sajuuk, Koshiir Ra did not house a magnificent PCA. The front portion was lined with hundreds of tiny arrays, meant for generating Distortion Fields and Energy Shields. The tip of the ship held a spherical structure; The Shield Combiner. Protected by dual, Diamond-Composite Armour, it was virtually indestructible, it was the device which controlled the Legendary Shielding systems.

Koshiir Ra activation report:” came the Emperor's voice,

    “Reactors On line”

The faint sound of Fusion and Dark Energy generators could be heard. The Megaship began to vibrate slightly.
Soon, the emergency lightning flickered off, and the bridge was spectacularly lit in a soft, bluish-white neon glow.

“Inertia-less Drives, activated. Stand by for release.”

The Koshiir Ra shuddered. It was being pushed by an invisible force, slowly detaching itself from the Creator.
A momentary cheer, then silence once again.

    “Hyperspace Cores On line”

Observers onboard The Creator could clearly see Koshiir Ra's dual-core system glow with intense brightness.
Slowly, the light began to fade away.

    “Shield Generators, On line”

The array on the Koshiir Ra's sides glowed the brightest and purest gold. The Shield Combiner spit out a magnificent golden ray.
Five Seconds later, Zero Prime and Nova, as well as all ships lying in between, including the creator, were enveloped in an immense gold shield.

There was not a single Progenitor whose mouth was not wide open.

“Admiral?” asked Koshiir, turning his head to the Admiral with the Brainwave Interpreter still attached to his head.

Admiral Fumo came back to his senses.

    “Yes, Emperor?”

    Koshiir smiled slightly.

“What you just saw is Koshiir Ra at fifteen percent power.”

    ***

Onboard the Vanaar Jet, Hyperspace Transit

“Admiral!” came the voice of the Navigational officer, “Hyperspace Interference detected over the Zero system!”

“Affirmative.” the Rear-Admiral replied calmly, “All ships to full alert!”

Golden Hyperspace windows opened before every ship in the fleet.
They saw the awe-inspiring golden wall.

“It's the Koshiir Ra, Admiral.” the sensors officer replied without removing his eyes f from the main viewscreen.

    Short but the Cliffhanger

    Chapter Two

Onboard the Vanaar Jet, Zero System

The stunned silence was broken by a bleeping sound, coming from the Communications Channel.

“Admiral, we would like the Third fleet to test the power of the Koshiir Ra's shields.” came the voice of the Progenitor Emperor. Clearly, the satisfaction in his voice could be heard.

“Yes, Emperor.” was all that Vera could think of saying.
“Fleet, the Emperor Requests us to test the power of the great shield. Commence firing at the Creator.

The fleet responded slowly. Thousands of missiles, Ion cannons, pulse weapons, lasers and other space-capable weapons slammed into the Golden Wall.
The Wall absorbed them silently, as if it was not under fire at all.

An entire hour of continuous firing had passed, but the Wall remain intact.
Finally, a Quantum Distortion missile was launched and targeted at a safe distance from the 03ed Fleet.

Within the two more hours it took to travel to it's destination; the Northern part of the moon 'Nova', the third fleet continued to fire on the Golden Wall.
    It remained invulnerable.

The Missile exploded in a magnificent blue Shockwave. As the light cleared, Nova still remained intact.

    Onboard the Koshiir Ra

Rear-Admiral Vera walked quietly into the magnificent megaship on the lookout for it's designer.
She and Tella had been friends since birth, only now their duties prevented them from meeting often.

It was then that her superior's voice rang out through the ship-wide communications,

“Attention fleet! We are detecting the approach of a Xole scout fleet nearing the Zero system. Admiral Vera, please report to the bridge.”

Sighing, she made her way to the Koshiir Ra's bridge. It was on the way that she met Tella, who came with her.

    ***

“I'm honored, Emperor.” was all she could say.

Koshiir gave a weak smile, which looked rather odd as he was still having the Unbound-Interface connected to his body.
“Get moving then. We have no time to lose.”

With a final bow, she exited the command room, her eyes shining brightly.

    ***

    “Congratulations!” said Tella happily.

“You know that being Vice-Admiral, I now assume command of the Ultima?”

“Yes I know. I really need to get back to my duties.” she paused for a moment, “May Koshiir Ra protect you.”

    ***

    “Time-Distortions Detected -”

“Shields Disabled.” Koshiir said calmly. The idea was to trap the Rebel fleet.

    “Time-Distortions emerging...'”

    Chapter Three

    Onboard the Koshiir Ra

“Full aggressive maneuvers!” Admiral Fumo ordered.

Protected by the Koshiir Ra's seemingly impregnable shield, the combined Progenitor 1st, 3ed , and 4th fleets leaped into intense action.
The Vanaar Jet, now under the command of a Progenitor Rear-Admiral, fired it's deadly Ions and beam weapons to melt a lead force of ten Cruisers.

Tens of thousands of fighter and corvette drones launched from the docking bays of the Five Motherships, Fifty Carriers and SuperCarriers, and the Three flagships rained a million kinetic and pulse beams on the Rebel fleet, creating a new layer of derbies around Zero Prime.

This was the true test of the Koshiir Ra. A demonstration of it's ultimate power. A power that could inflict fear into the hearts of the evil enemy.

The battle intensified. It was much more of a massacre – after all, this was but a scout fleet, with a solitary Stealth Mothership named Mortii Egraa commanding the fleet.
Every single shot fired by the enemy fleet was blocked by the Golden Wall. Cruiser by Cruiser, Frigate by Frigate, Drone by Drone, the Rebel fleet was quickly being annihilated.

“Do not let them escape! Intensify Jamming Systems! Dreadnought Endera, proceed to destroy the warp module.” Admiral Fumo commanded, referring to the Dreadnought closest to the Mortii Egraa.
The Rebel Stealth Mothership was attempting to cloak and jump into warp space. Clearly, their mission would fail if they could not deliver the message to their leader,
the message which said that the Koshiir Ra was powerful...very powerful. The Progenitors were not to be underestimated.

“Jamming Systems at full power!” came the voice of Admiral Vera. The Ultima's long-distance Jamming Systems were doing their work.

A Progenitor Dreadnought-Class ship fired it's deadly nanite cannons and a powerful turbopulsar array.
Focusing it's Hypercharged Ion cannon, a beam of green light signified the end of the Mortii Egraa's warping module.

Fifty low-powered Phased Canon Arrays from fifty Phase Frigates slammed into the hull of the Rebel Stealth Motherships one-by-one, lighting it up in an intense blue energy.

Koshiir Ra has won it's first battle.” the Emperor announced, smiling while taking off his neural-interface band.

    ***

    Onboard the Ultima, Zero System

“We have but little time for celebrations.” Koshiir said, walking into Ultima's monolithic conference center.

The vast Auditorium was empty save for the Highest levels of command and engineering; The Emperor, Admiral of the Progenitor Navy: Fumo Altera, Admiral Vera, Tella Denso, and the commander of the Vanaar Jet; Admiral Iowar Rec.

Sajuuk and Fleet Intelligence Gofe Sero were also present in their virtual form.

    He began speaking in a calm and deliberate tone;
“We now face the Rebels openly. Somehow, they also came to know of our secret operation to re-capture the Qwaar Jet, which ended up in the destruction of a populated world.”

“I accept that Emperor.” Vera said slowly, “But naturally the question arises,” she paused for a moment, looking around at the other, “How did the Rebels come to know?”
The Progenitors present fell into deep thought; mentally conveying them to one another. A few minutes passed.

“There are innumerable ways of obtaining information.” Sero finally spoke up, his voice sounding as calm as it always did, “But in this case there are only a two acceptable ones.”

    “Go Ahead.” said Admiral Fumo.

“The first way, is that they have superior surveillance technology. Personally,” his holographic image turned to face Tella, “I believe that this is not true.”

“Definitely not.” said Tella, shaking her head. “This assignment was given in the Vanaar Jet's conference room. It is electronically shielded.”

“Additionally, the Third fleet was not told of this until only a few hours before the mission. The Rebels were very well-prepared.” Vera said.

“Which brings us to the second possibility.” Sero continued, “a spy.”

    Sajuuk looked distracted.

“A spy? A spy in the higher levels of command? No Progenitor would ever commit such a dishonor, especially no one from the higher levels of command.” he said in a calm but forceful voice.

Admiral Rec's bright blue eyes shot up. His smooth face contracted before he and the other Progenitors began protesting.

“It used to be like that before the Xolenoth war, your Excellency,” said Admiral Fumo, “But it no longer is. Our race has no longer remained pure of purpose.”

“Then I guess that the Rebels do have a spy.” Koshiir accepted. He turned to the Admiral, “Increase fleet stage to Red Alert. We are going to counter attack.”

    “Yes Emperor”

Updates will be a bit slooooow from now, I've got Exams soon and the additonal duty of moderation .
I *might* get up a birthday special (the 6th of March) if it is possible.
    Thanks for reading.

    ACT V

    Chapter One

    ***

Location: The Sajuuk, High Orbit over Bentus, Capital, Galaxy P50

The Progenitor fleet was cheering. A Progenitor Frigate shot a lethal ion cannon blast at the last Rebel ship remaining – a heavily damaged Pulse Frigate.
It exploded into a thousand pieces, disintegrating into space-dust, like the rest of the Rebel Fleet.

'Yet another victory.' Sajuuk said to himself, opening his eyes as he took of his neuro-helmet. He, however, doubted weather their winning streak would last forever.
The Second Fleet's high-ranking officers congratulated the former Emperor. He acknowledged them, still looking for a reason why.

Why were the Rebels sending relatively small strike forces to attack Galaxy P50?
Were they getting weaker? Was this a part of a trick-plan? Would the Sajuuk be able to handle an all-out offense?

These thoughts did not leave him even five hours later, when he entered his Executive Room at Reel-Lekhtor, the Progenitor capital city of Galaxy P50.

Sighing mentally, he sat down on his chair and began his work.
    Soon, he heard a familiar beep of his communication device. He did not need to check what it was for;

The Progenitor Combined Assault Fleet, given the code name “Fleet Ultima” (though, ironically, the Ultima was not a part of it), was going to began Directive: Purification at that time.

Hastily flickering on a Holographic display, Sajuuk silently observed “Fleet Ultima” vanish into hyperspace.

    ***

    Location: Hyperspace Transit

“Fleet Ultima” was in Ultra Long Range Hyperspace transit to the nearby Rebel-Controlled Galaxy, X12.

“Fleet Ultima” was made up of three Megaship-class vessels:
    The Vanaar Jet,
The Elentoria, a new Megaship-Class with a scaled down version of the Qwaar Jet's main cannon, but with better construction capabilities.

Leading the fleet was the great Koshiir Ra, commanded by the Emperor himself, who was wearing an Unbound-Interface device to control and co-ordinate the fleet.

Along with the three command ships, there were Twelve Motherships and Twenty Mini-Motherships. They were assisted by thirty SuperCarriers.
With hundreds of Capital Ships, Thousands of frigates, and over a Million Drone fighter and Corvettes, “Fleet Ultima” was the biggest Combined Assault Fleet the Progenitors had ever known.

Emperor Koshiir intended to keep it that way. He never wanted another war, ever.
But first – this war had to be stopped.

A bleep in a corner of his mind brought him out of his thoughts; He sensed that Hyperspace Exit was imminent. Relaying the message to the rest of the fleet, he prepared for the first great fight.

    He could not possibly lose...

    ***

    Location: Unknown Nebula, Galaxy X12

A Rebel fleet lay hiding in the Nebula. At it's head, clearly visible was a deviously-designed ship. It was known among the Rebel forces as Saladus or 'The Hidden One”.
    That was the ships true purpose. Although the fleet escorting it was small, much smaller then the Progenitor “Fleet Ultima”, it was created to enforce the Rebels only strategy;

Weaken the enemy, bit by bit.

Saladus had a surprise for “Fleet Ultima”.

The Rebel commander spoke just three words as he took his eyes away from the sensor screen,

    “It is Time.”

    ***

Location: The Klaiir Wastelands, Galaxy X12

The Klaiir Wastelands were one of the biggest in the Super cluster. Spanning nearly fifty light years in diameter, with only a few traces of civilization, this was the ideal place to mount an assault fleet.

A thousand hyperspace windows, which constantly kept on changing their colours popped up almost simultaneously.
This was the Progenitor “Fleet Ultima”.

It was then that the sensors began to show very, very odd signals.

    HW: The Rediscovered Past

Managed to squeeze this one out, enjoy!
    Chapter Two

Location: The Saladus, near the Klaiir Wastelands

The Techno-Organic entity was recovered by the Xolenoths in a hyperspace discontinuity just outside the southern part of Progenitor-Controlled Galaxy P50.
Attempts were made to try and control it.

All of them failed. All up till now.
Even though the Saladus was bound to fail against the almighty Progenitor Fleet, they were going to slow them down.

The sensors officer, however, gave some disturbing news,
'Commander, the Progenitor fleet seems to have some unreadable disturbance field around it. It will take take at least a day to detect-'

'We cannot wait that long!' the commander replied. It was true: Their job was to get in as fast a possible, infect as many ships as they could, and rejoin with the main Galactic Rebel Fleet.
'We must continue with our mission,' he said, calming down. His eyes showed a flicker of fear as he signaled for the Singularity Jump.

    ***

    Location: The Klaiir Wastelands

“What is it Emperor? Why are we not proceeding with the sensor sweep?”

    Koshiir looked as though he was concentrating intensely on something. He replied with what seemed like enormous effort, barely opening his lips;
'They're coming. I'm trying to find out from where'

Admiral Fumo was surprised, even so, he ordered the fleet to remain on high-alert. It was then that Koshiir suddenly spoke up-
'They're here. Shields on-line. Defensive Perimeter set.'

The Fleet acknowledged the aggressive defense position as a small singularity threw out the Rebel Fleet.
Koshiir Ra gleamed with pure golden energy as the main defensive shields activated. The Rebel force encountered an impregnable wall through which the first salvo from the Progenitor fleet made a chain of tiny explosions in the Klaiir Wastelands.

Koshiir sensed the pre-launch sequence of an infection beam. He diverted a small amount of power to that area of the Koshiir Ra's shields.
The beam fired, a dazzling display of green biotic energy. It passed through the Koshiir Ra's wall as though it wasn't even there.

Action stopped as the Progenitor Fleet looked on in disbelief, the Infection of a BattleCruiser and it's scuttle sequence being activated....

The Vanaar Jet turned quickly with it's Point Defense Systems bursting with activity.
It was not long before the Emperor regained his senses and expanded the shields. All the Rebel Ships which made contact with it were destroyed.
Progenitor Capital ships, upon the Admiral's directions, made their way to disable all the Infection-Capable ships in the Rebel fleet.

The Frigates destroyed all the ships who had been successfully converted by the Nanite.
The Battle was soon over, as the Saladus managed to flee, bringing new information and horror to both the sides.

The Progenitors discovered that Infection Beams could pass through the Koshiir Ra's shields.
The Rebels came to know about the true power of the new Progenitor Flagship.

For the first time, it seemed, the scales were balanced. But for how long?

    ***

The Elentoria's conference room, In Hyperspace transit

'I want this information to reach the Phylozon as soon as possible.' said Fleet Admiral Fumo.

'I've already sent it Admiral.' said Rear-Admiral Iowar Rec, who was currently in command of the Vanaar Jet.

'We have Twenty hours before we exit slow hyperspace to the Mool Nebula. Until then,' Koshiir turned to Tella, 'How exactly did this happen?'

'I'm not a good Biotechnologist Emperor, but I am sure that there is nothing wrong with the shield designs.' she said, pausing for breath.
'It so happens,' she continued, 'that the Shields cannot withstand Biological Beam weapons. They are not entirely beam, nor Physical in nature.'

'What is the meaning of “not Physical in nature”?' Koshiir asked her politely.

'It means, Emperor, that they are, somehow, partially in the form of light. How they managed to do that is beyond me.'

'What we do know is that this Entity is not created by them.' said Admiral Fumo. 'It is said that they discovered it near Galaxy P50. My guess is that they will try to capture P50 first. We have many secret relics there, they'll want to know our secret of ultra long range Hyperspace travel.'

'Then we shall have to strike back as fast a possible.' Koshiir replied. 'We cannot give them the time for making every ship, Infection-beam capable.'

'Meeting Dismissed.' Koshiir announced, standing up with the rest of the High-ranking Progenitors. 'Inform all the Governors of our Galaxies about the recent developments.'

yay, new and awsome chapter. Neat how the rebels got through the shield. They even got a different infection beam, its green and not red, hmmmmm.

    HW: The Rediscovered Past

Now, things start to get, weird.

    Chapter Three

Location: The Koshiir Ra Hyperspace Transit
    -----------

Koshiir was lost in a world of unreal thoughts as he had a good sleep after nearly twelve days.

He visioned the Sajuuk, and against it was a monolithic Rebel fleet.
He dreamed that he was his grandfather and was desperate, so desperate, to charge ahead, and to purge and to destroy, when suddenly, all he could see-
    Was light.

    Pure, bright white light.

Then, there was nothing left – No thought, No memory, No Feelings; Only the great wonder of the Surreal event.

He woke up and almost ran to his holographic communications device. Then he remembered that he was in hyperspace.
Extragalactic communication exceeding 5 Billion light years was impossible in Hyperspace.

Slowly, fearfully, cautiously, he stumbled back to sleep.
He forgot everything that he had dreamed.

    ***

The Mool Nebula was littered with gleaming golden hyperspace windows, as the Progenitor Fleet Ultima exited the Fifth Dimension.
The sight was wondrous to behold; The dull Gold and Red stripes matched perfectly with the red-blue colours of the Mool Nebula.

'Emperor we are alone, and have received no reports of enemy forces in the surrounding area, although I wonder how long that will last.' said Admiral Fumo.

He seemed to be right. The nebula was as peaceful as they expected it to be. Even if there were pirates lurking among the nebula's infinite depths, who could possibly compete with the size of the Progenitor fleet?

    Koshiir barely acknowledged the information. He seemed to be struggling against himself, trying to focus on the matter at hand, when he spoke;
'I need to get plugged in Admiral. Make it quick and do not lower your guard.'

Every Progenitor in the Koshiir Ra suddenly felt a surge of energy within them. How and why, they couldn't tell.
It was as though the Koshiir Ra was ... alive.

    ***
    Tella was in a state of utter confusion;
'AI dynamics are getting out of control. Emperor, should we override? If we don't - '

    'No.' said Koshiir.

'But Emperor, this could self-destroy -'

    'No. Plug me in now.'
Koshiir's purple eyes seemed to be so bright, they were almost impossible to look at.

    Admiral Fumo interjected,
'Emperor, the AI could kill you.'

'Admiral, I want you to co-ordinate the fleet. I know what I'm doing.' he turned to his chief engineer, 'Plug me in now that's an order.'

A glance at the viewscreen and the slight vibration of the floor told him that the Koshiir Ra's AI had powered up the shields.

    The Crew froze.
The Shape of a monolithic dart, and several smaller ones came into view. Unmistakably, it was the Qwaar Jet itself. Sorounding it was a fleet of newly designed infection-capable ships.
The smaller Dart-ships seemed to be Heavy Cruisers with Quantum Arrays.

    Heavy Cruisers with Quantum Arrays?

Before the fleet could react, the Qwaar Jet sent an awe-inspiring Quantum Light at the Koshiir Ra's shield's.

    As the shield's absorbed the damage, Admiral Fumo nearly screamed;
    'Aggressive Formations. NOW!'

Some tense errors here and there, like "Infection beams could pass through the Koshiir Ra's shields," and "the AI could kill you." Apostrophe errors near the end as well, I'm sure you meant to say "shields" rather than "shield's," but I gather those must be accidental slips.

In the meantime, I am still reading this, so please keep it updated, even if I rarely post here. It is still an interesting take on possible Progenitor history.
