Patch crashed my comp

I just downloaded the new patch but halfway through the intallation froze on me and I was forced to restart my computer. Now I cant open IC at all because as soon as it opens it crashes. Is there anywhere I can manually download the file?

Its obviously caused by the faulty installation.

If you have the original install, uninstall the current version (save off your profiles directory) and re-install. The lockup certainly seemed to invalidated some of our files.

thats not possible because the installation file is no longer on my HD and I cant redownload it from fileplanet. Im pretty sure if I just got the .exe file for the patch and installed it then everything would work again.

It's a good idea that whenever you're working with a beta, keep the original install file around incase you have to re-install.

You might be able to find a duplicate copy of IC in your Windows Temp file, but probably not the installer, not sure. You sound like you're having the same problem I was having. I had to uninstall the game and ALL occurrences of the other patches from Windows Temporary Internet files and add/remove programs, along with Netquartz easy pad. Then I reinstalled the game and manually installed the patch as Uber recommended. Sucks if you have to go this route and don't have the IC installer. I deleted mine the first night too, but when I saw people were having problems I quickly downloaded another before the beta download was locked.

Well I've given up. I managed to get my hands on the original installer. I uninstalled the old IC and ezpad and deleted all the temporary stuff and then I resinstalled the game and manually installed the patch but it still locked up my system. It always fails when patching the engine.sga at 71%.

If relic releases any patches for IC after the retail version is released they should definitely look for a different installer for their patches.

71%?? That is the same with me as well! But what (works) for me is just waiting, let it stay there for about 10 minutes, it finishes usually before that. But then again, my patch dosnt seem to install after it finished downloading anyways....

What's the error you get when it fails to patch? Have you scanned for viruses?

I dont get any error it just stops and i usually do ctrl-alt-del and then it says [Not Responding] and i have to do end task. Ill try waiting 10 minutes though and see if that works.

So the trick is to simply wait until the patch finishes patching right?

You guys know that when something says "Not Responding" in task manager that it doesn't neccesarily mean that the program is crashed right?

Imperial, so after you waited and it finished installing, you can now play on IC multiplayer?
