I was playing this skirmish as IG vs. Eldar and I started seeing autocannon flashes. Guys, the autocannon does work, but the reload time is as slow as the main cannon and it only fires if the main cannon points at an enemy.
I am not lying.

Yeah, I started noticing that, too. It's a fixed point weapon, which can only fire directly forward, and you hardly notice it when the main gun blasts, but it does fire. I think it's meant to be as strong as the Leman Russ battle cannon, by the looks of it.
It shot randomly, like the heavy bolters, and it seemed to do some damage. Few shots killed a warlock.
If the autocannon fires like the battle cannon and has the same rof as the mega battle cannon, Relic made the dumbest thing imaginable...
Autocannons should be weak but fire several dozen shells a minute...

i have never seen the autocannon fire nor have i seen any autocannon groud or unit hits. i would like to see this though. i shall look into it, see if i can get any screenshots for you![]()
If you use fire ground, you can see 2 cannons firing, is the smaller explosion autocannon?
The secondary explosion is most likely the hull-mounted Demolisher cannon/mortar. I'm going to see if I can get any screenshots of the autocannon firing as well, though I haven't seen it happen thus far.
Guardsman are you talking about the gun located right next to the Mega Battle Cannon's cannon, or are you talking about the Demolisher Cannon, that big SOB positioned on the hull?Originally Posted by guardsman lover

He's probably thinking of the Demolisher. I've never EVER seen the autocannon fire.
It's the small cannon right next to the Mega Battle Cannon. Not the Demolisher. There is no firing animation just explosions.
Maybe I'm blind or something, but I don't think there's any other guns on the rotating turret of the main gun...
Yes, theres an autocannon (The predators old gun). Course, the old predator had 2 coaxial lookin guns that never fired too.
The Predetor didn't have any coax guns.
If your talking about the fixed cannon on the nose (i wouldn't call it an autocannon) it does fire and it has a flash. Its firing a round explosive shell. the fire fate is about 1/5th faster than the mega battle cannon. it has a flash, not vary big, but it fires. I got it to fire alone, the gun was quiet. its like an extremely quiet bomb chuka.
Your talking about the hull mounted demlisher cannon. We're talking about the coax mounted(right beside the mega-battlecannon in the turret) autocannon. And it doesn't fire, if it does and it has the same fire rate as the MEga-battle cannon it's a sorry excuse for an autocannon, and it either does no damage or the Mega-Battlecannon does no damage. As of now it does jack to vehicles and buildings.
It fire's i have seen it but i don't know if it deal's damage or notbut i have seen it fire.
Whats that square thing on the 1.4 annhilator next to the autocannon? The Predetor didn't have any coax guns.
A camera. If you look at the actual tabletop model, it's basically a camera.
Your talking the "destructor" pattern, as annihilators are the all lascannon variants.
Most of it is sighting equipment, as it has lenses and stuff like what appeared to be laser range finders.
Red arrow to the autocannon and about the main battle cannon, I think its bugged or something, it only does scatter damage when the shell hits, yet if it hits a vehicle or building that nuke like cloud goes up, but after you see barely any damage is visible. Ya think a cannon that big would do some damage O.o
Skull
Never noticed that one on it before. I could never see it fire since the main gun blankets the area with a big flash and blast sound.
I agree with you on that. The IG seem to have a load of bugs on their vehicles. The Basilisk does no damage to vehicles, the Russ has no animation, and its damage isn't spectacular either, and the BB is bugged all to hell too. Outside of the auto not shooting, the Demolisher doesn't demolish and the MBC barely scratches the paint on other vehicles.Originally Posted by Skullcap

In all truth, that really isn't a rant or anything. I mean when you factor in the cost of the Full Scale War research, the cost of the Mars Pattern Command and the coast of the Baneblade itself, the tank really isn’t worth the money you put into it. I mean when a Land Raider, which all things considered, ought to be the weakest of the uber-class vehicles, can take it out then you kind of have to see my point. I'm not saying that the Baneblade should WTFPWN everything on the map, but it ought to be worth the money you put into getting it.
The Land Raider is a great unit for 1v1 combat, whereas it appears the Baneblade is for crowd control... Just my two cents...
It(The Mega-Battlecannon) does good damage to infantry, but crap damage to vehicles and buildings. Thats where the Demolisher Cannon shines, with the 2 lascannons of course. The Heavy Bolters do very good damage as well.
Lascannons, imo. Also, the autocannon itself is aiming completely elsewhere.
Lonewolf, lascannons make red explosions, and a lot of sparks.
The coaxal cannon makes bright orange flashes and some sparks.
It also doesn't need to be pointing straight at an enmy unit to shoot. It could be like a few heads off and it still hits. It is bugged.
You sure that's not the hull mounted bolter?
Guardsman's pictures clearly look like the fire is coming out of the hull mounted twin-linked heavy bolters (to the left of the demolisher, looking from the front).
The tracers are lined up with the traverse of the bolters and appear to be double shot.
The AC is WAY off target (almost 90 degrees off in the middle picture).
Yes, Guardsmen those are poor pictures if your trying to say the Autocannon is firering. First of all the Autocannon isn't even lined up with the FS in any of the pics. All the "explosions" on her look to be from the other weapons to me. The first one looks to be the Lascannons. The second and third look to be heavybolters and lascannons.
Wow, all this blubbering over an autocannon. Yes it does fire, and it does go off at the exact same time as the main cannon. If you can't see it, put your particle quality setting to high and/or pay more attention. If you still can't see it, I suggest you get over it and/or get a life.

The autocannon firing at the same time as the Super Battle Cannon does no extra damage. There's also no muzzle flash when it does.
This is ignoring, of course, that the autocannon is a fairly rapid-firing weapon and should be shooting whenever the main cannon moves over a target. To be honest, though, I don't mind that it doesn't actually seem to fire.
Autocannon explosions make orange flashes.
Lascannon explosions make reddish pink explosions with a lot of sparks.
The autocannon can fire even if the enemy is 90 degrees off the barrel. It doesn't need to point straight at the unit. (BUG)
There is no firing animation for the autocannon, only explosions. (BUG)
If you want to see the autocannon fire, walk the Baneblade around the map with the enemy and you will see the orange flashes.
Yes, many vehicles have bugs and it sucks.
I'm sorry about the unclear pictures but those are explosions.
The heavy bolter fires with twin jets, not a round fireballish animation.
