Having Computer Troubles?

If you are posting about a computer problem, please make sure to include as much information as possible. That includes your hardware setup and operating system. We can probably help you with your problems, but we are not psychic, so we'll need that info to identify your problem.

The file dxdiag.txt contains a bunch of useful information about your hardware setup, driver versions etc and can be used to identify a lot of problems. If you are having audio or video problems, please post the contents of this file here.
To generate this file, click on "start", select "run", and type "dxdiag", then hit enter. In the new window select "save all information", which will save the info to a .txt file on your desktop. Open that file, and copy-paste the information in your post. Please make sure to surround that info with code tags: [code]<copied text goes here>[/code].

Please also make sure that you use google to look for answers first. There is also such a thing as "the readme file", not to mention instruction manuals. We are happy to help you with problems, but please don't come here asking questions that could be answered with a five-second google search.


A Few Rules

As always, please check your spelling. We're not an English class, but we're not #teenychat on AOL either. Posts that consist of text-message style abbreviations such as "omg wud is teh prob w/ my computer any1 of u kno?" will be shot on sight.

Last but not least: The people here are all volunteers. They will try to help you, but some problems might be beyond our capabilities. Be nice to them and don't get angry if something doesn't work. This is a friendly environment, flames will not be tolerated here.
