    I'll post a complete changelog later. I gotta play now. In short...

    (1) Major Eldar rework. Their army is now half the size, twice the deadliness.
    (2) A few minor touches to other races.
    (3) New menu? I don't know if Excedrin had time to include this.
    (4) Randomized Chaos SM and SM helmets, courtesy of Closer To Codex Mod team.

    And Korbah is coming back home. So IG will come to us soon!

    I'm not sure if you have to first delete your DOWpro 1.49.1 folder and module file from your DOW directory. I did it myself, just to be safe.

    This is an update of Korbah's DOWpro WA version 1.48. All known 1.48 bugs have been fixed, Skirmish AI has been updated by Larkin VB the AI maestro, and French translations have been added by Terranguy/DenizAsker the French guy.

    This patch has been guided by the auspicious powerfist of Korbah. All gameplay changes have been approved (for the time being).

    Changelog Summary:

    All 4 Original Races
    1. Miscellaneous help text updates all over the place, as suggested by Terranguy.
    2. French language help text supported, courtesy of Terranguy. German and Spanish is being worked on.
    3. All sync kills should now work.
    4. Squad leaders can now be added while moving, for miscellaneous bugged squads.
    5. Various units' new abilities should no longer turn into purple squares when stunned by Ass Termies.
    6. You can now build anything you want near crits and near enemy bases, but stuff you build won't be able to shoot. Now workers won't spaz out while trying to build thermo gens on Fallen City.
    7. Skirmish AI updated by Larkin VB to be compatible with DOWpro gameplay.

    IG
    No, IG has not been touched. That will be version 2.00.

    Eldar
    1. Eldar LP3 weapon fixed.
    2. Entangle FX fixed.
    3. Falcon webway requirement text is included.
    4. Eldar grenade range increased from 16 to 20. This is still shorter than the grenade range of all other races.
    5. Support Portal icons cleaned up.
    6. Wraithtomb-replace-Bonesong bug fixed.
    7. Eldar vehicle aspect stones now need to be researched only once, rather than once for every new Support Portal.

    Chaos
    1. Chaos Taint stack-heal bug removed (this was worse than DOW apoths).
    2. Berzerkers now reinforce on the field at 5 reqs cheaper (55 req 5 pow).
    3. The 2nd health upgrade increases Zerks' morale regen rate by 50%.
    4. Chaos Sorcerer Doombolt animation fixed.
    5. Horrors use CSM voice when re-entering the Sac Circle. This bug is in WA as well, so is not our fault.
    6. Raptors are max 8 per squad until Chaos HQ is upgraded.

    Ork
    1. BM + TB squad is not supposed to be able to teleport. This is not a bug.
    2. The Looted Leman Russ's 3 tank bolters have +0.1 increased accuracy (from 0.4 to 0.5). Spam FTW before Korbah nerfs Orkz in 1.50!!!

    SM
    1. Skull probe bug fixed. Sabotage now works.
    2. SM Barracks Deepstrike is completely removed. You can only DS from Orbital Relay.
    3. SM Sarges and Ass Sarges have the glowy skull shoulderpads with health upgrades.

    Patch 1.49.1 changelog:

    1. Corrects a new bug in critical location no-build radius.
    2. Cleans up some help text.
    3. Fixes a minor FX bug for Conceal. Yes, it's fixed. Yes, even if you don't have Conceal researched, Warlock LOOKS like he has it. This is a vanilla bug, not ours.
    4. Now Fire Dragons and Avatar can be built.
    5. Now there's consistent grid hotkeys for (almost) everything in dowpro.

    7. Skirmish AI updated by Larkin VB to be compatible with DOWpro gameplay.
    Note that this is only a work in progress and still flawed. I enabled some more researches, added heavy weapons for chaos marines and allowed orks to reinforce sluggas to get their nobz leaders. Still some researches are missing and I plan to add the best of skirmish AI mod 1.6 (will be released soon) for DoWpro 2.0.
    This will be a very exciting release. IG + full AI !

    I think I might have found a bug... I was playing as Chaos and once I hit Tier 2 my infantry cap went from 10/10 to 10/20 (no pop cap research done).

    Feature or bug?

    By Eldar LP3 weapon I assume you mean the "Fear me for I am the twinlinked Brightlance that is worse than the LP2 starcannon vs vehicles". The thing that has been a known issue (even if a minor one) in DoW and WA since way back in 1.3 and remains to be fixed to this day.

    On a sidenote, have all the other various damage oddities been fixed in Pro as well?

    Tested your bug report. No such bug exists. Please double check before you post a bug report next time.

    @ Slow:

    Yes, Eldar LP3 now hurts vehicles. It has the power of plat BL x 2.

    All bugged/odd DPS had been fixed by Korbah, AFAIK. DOWpro takes nothing from WA except for the new graphics for old/new units, BTW.

    that means go to your C:.../.../.../Dawn of War folder then delete the folder entitled 'dowpro' and the dowpro module file (a blue icon with a plug-in jack, if you use windows).

    Just got home from school, will have a look at 1.49 in a sec.
    After writing a math exam from 7:50 to 13:15 I really need to relax a bit and play DOW. Perfect timing!

    BTW, just dusted off my old CSM CC build I tried in 1.2 and used it with some Zerkers instead of one of the CSM squads. WOW! Korbah, you're right about Zerkers, they really kick ass in early engagements .
    Now I'm not sure whether they really needed the -5 req buff, I think putting them back up to 60/5 would be good because it would remove the oddity of the price difference, giving them a bit more extra DPS would feel better (Really just a BIT).
    Also, the +50% morale regen should give them a late game niche as an hard to break unit.

    I played a skirmish against a standard Chaos AI with Eldar.

    I like the DoWPRO Eldar:

    I like the whole power-comes-in-small-packages-instead-of-something-similar-to-1.41-FPs thing .

    I like the GUs it's cool that you can use them, and they're very effective when massed... as it should be .

    I liked that you gave Rangers a role, too, and they kick ass, too.

    On the other hand, I had a problem: I couldn't build FDs even when I researched all the UPgs etc. etc., so I couldn't build an Avatar either. Is this a known issue? Anyway, I'll double check it if you want.

    I liked the whole flow of the game: it wasn't a fest, neither a Tech race. It was an almost prefectly balanced match, where only tactics and strategy counted.

    Again GREAT WORK GUYS! Bring it on... make more!

    EDIT: I noticed that DRs may have a longer range (shooting). Is this true or my eyes are playing tricks on me?

    ECIT3: I really liked that you add a cease-artillery-fire button for the FP. And that you fixed targeting bugs . (as far as I noticed)

    Fire Dragons and Avatar is a valid bug, and huge.

    Will be releasing a hotfix patch within the hour.

    You won't have to delete your download. This patch will auto-fix DOWpro folder, and is less than 200 kbs download.

    I'll also update the main download for future downloaders, of course.

    There is more stuff that seems strange, had a game with chaos, noticed this:
    -BT doesn't lose health while fighting buildings
    -Sorcerer doesn't increase squad morale
    -Oblits plasma seems to be utter crap again, at least what I saw in a fight against possessed which were fleeing from me, I didn't get one of them during quite a long fight
    -Many displayed DPS values have changed from 1.48, any fixes here or another bug?

    2.&3.&4. All those were just some strange things I noticed, further investigation would be good, can anyone else confirm one of those (sorc would be easiest)?


    BTW, if somebody who is good at icon editing has some spare time, changing the Zerker icons to fit DOW Chaos style would be nice. WA Chaos has white backgrounds, DOW Chaos dark ones. Zerker icon looks just a bit off.

    I've just returned from my first DOWPRO:1.49 match, and the AI was exquisite. Not only did I have to use tactics, I had to use long term strategy. If I could figure out how to post attachments, or to break the perpetual standstill that I saved it in (4SMVs.4Chaos on lost hope) I would post a replay. The AI is much better, though Chaos AI is still a bit wobbly at times (a psm squad and chaos pred. neglected to support an allied base like 3 feet away that happened to be under siege). And PSM pathfinding and AI is rather eccentric (it occasionally takes 1/2 the squad 3 secs to respond to orders, the other 1/2 immediatley responds for instance).

    I used the new Oblits. extensivley, and I found their plasma to be fine, so perhaps your problem was caused by the daemon class armour of the PSMs that your oblits. opposed?

    Thanks goes to Excedrin who made the bugs...

    Anyway, I'd like to mention that the installer deletes your DoWpro directory before installing.

    Other than that, there's consistent grid hotkeys for everything in dowpro. The only exceptions that I know of are tankbusta rockets (which are Ctrl+Z instead of Ctrl+A) and some Guardian Warlock and Ork abilities (megablaster's target ground makes repair go away for example, and I think some of the grenades conflict...).

    Why the bloody hell do Firedragons have a setup time.....
    Who gave that idea?
    They gotta get in so close to enemy units that they get tied up so easily,with that setup time they cant even get a couple of shoots out before geting tied up.

    BTW, the changed DPS in the stats window are EVERYWHERE for me, so far for every chaos I tried there was a different value displayed than in 1.48. That's why I asked if the shown number (which was nearly always wrong in vanilla) was somehow fixed.

    1. Sorceror's basic stats were not changed by me. Korbah must have changed it before he handed me the 1.49-in-progress luas. BTW, vanilla Sorceror has 400 morale.

    2. I didn't touch any DPSs. Again, maybe Korbah did.

    3. Korbah gave FDs setup time. I think DOWpro FDs are good against everything.

    @ Korbah:
    Eldar Support Portal vehicle gems are now researches, not add-ons, as you specified. To everyone else, this means that once you research the gem, it doesn't have to be researched again if that Support Portal is destroyed or if you build a 2nd Support Portal.

    I disagree with the design decision to make them researches. Here's why.

    Now support portals don't get the cool little red gems every time you finish an add-on. Besides losing the graphical coolness, the lack of visible gems hides from me whether the support portal is a priority target, whereas before it was a tactical consideration in late game.

    If I see a portal with all 3 gems in late game, it meant that it was more important for me to destroy than any other building, since it held the key to Fire Prisms, Avatars (with its cap and production time bonuses), and Fire Dragons. Destroy this key Support Portal, and you knock Eldar from tier 3 to tier 2 in one swoop. Eldar has uber econ and uber cap; this was a small weakness you can exploit to try to even the odds.
    But now, whee Eldar tier 3 is invincible. On top of having Bonesong, free Shroud, and buffed Relocate, once Support Portal researches 3 stones it's there forever. IMO this is stupid.

    If you destroy SM/CSM HQ, they have to rebuild HQ, then re-research tier2 and tier 3 upgrades. Orkz have to rebuild banners and re-research Fort Upgrade. Eldar? Whee just rebuild one Support Portal and right back to tier 3 and FPs/Avatar.

    The reason for making stones permanent researches? "Because it is clunky and clumsy." I guess what Korbah means is that a 2nd Support Portal would have to research stones before churning out FPs. Or that a Support Portal getting destroyed meant that the Eldar player has to do it all over again. Well IMO that's what Eldar pays for having good econ, free Shroud, Bonesong, un-stupified turrets, and buffed Relocate. How about making Waagh Banner turret upgrades universal and permanent? You know, I do one research, and all Waagh Banners I build from that point on start with Twin Big Shootas or Rokkits. Hell how about making Waagh tech level permanent? I already paid for my banners, I shouldn't have to pay for it again just cuz it gets destroyed.

    And no, I don't really want that. Just like I don't want Eldar getting a free break for no good reason.

    I think that if Korbah's decision to weaken the toughness of Eldar buildings does in fact make the Support Portal's survival late game a problem... then the best solution is to boost Support Portal's HP back to vanilla DOW level. Or make it building_high. But I don't like taking away a late-game anti-Eldar strategy that wasn't wrong to begin with. Now everyone else has a key building that means loss in tier(s) researched if destroyed, except Eldar.

    I totally agree with you mlai, also free Shroud, Bonesong and the buffed Relocate should give a key Support Portal enough chances to survive. Also, the stones feel just like something totally Eldar.

    I think these are all of the 1.48 -> 1.49 changes:

    shootas get burnas
    shoota unit max 12 -> 10 (12 after hq upgrade)

    berserker reinforce 60/5 -> 55/5

    raptor unit_max 10 -> 8 (10 after tier 2)

    sorc added piercing entry for infantry_high for one of his special attacks

    guardian plasma grenades range 16 -> 20

    looted tank HB accuracy 0.4 -> 0.5

    skullprobe armour infantry_low -> infantry_med

    whirlwind setup time 5 -> 3

    I guess you could think of 1.49 as a polish release where Mlai and I figured out how stuff worked, fixed bugs and got the installer going. There's really no huge changes.

    all of these are buikding_high,if u lose them u are already losing a game or ure a complete idiot.
    Eldar buildings get torn apart in tier2-3 so its good that vehicles are researched and not addons

    i played 5 games with Tenak and there are some serious problems with Eldar killing Nob squads...
    I mean Reapers cant kill em. I had 4 reaper squads and i wasnt able to kill 2 nob squads faster then they reinforce.
    Abd dont tell me focus fire,cause every time i do that all squads start walking into melee with them even they are 10 miles away.
    Oh and nerf those bloddy Orky transport thingies cause they OMGWTF infanty and are so so so cheap

    1. You did not say a single thing that countered my main points in my "Addon not research" post. And I've already addressed the issue of possible fragility of Eldar Support Portal late game: Fix the Portal's HPs, but don't mess with a basic Eldar tiering trait. I didn't ask for Portal to have nerfed HPs, and I certainly didn't ask for Eldar to have invincible tiering which no other race has.

    2. Reapers do spectacular damage to heavy_med.

    3. Build 4 webways and you can OMGWTFPWN Trukkz with your own transport spam.

    The eldar aspect stones are a bitch.

    My solution is to try and make addons have modifier immediate --> that way we could make stones scale down in cost for identical stones.

    I haven't got any time to post but the details were in my last post in the big dowpro thread.

    btw great work on 1.49...wish i could play it.

    AFAIK, there is no way for a modifier to affect an add-on.

    However, you can make it so that each time a specific add-on (Wraithlord gem, for example) is completed, it modifies the cost and/or build time of that unit.

    For example, first gem add-on decreases Wraithlord cost by 25 req 15 pow, second same gem does that again, etc. In this way, the "hassle" of researching the same gem many times is offset by the benefit of stacking modifiers.

    Of course, Wraithlord cost would be increased so that the first gem doesn't affect its price. And since it's add-ons, when a Portal is destroyed the stacking modifier disappears.

    That's the best I could do.

    Korbah, what do you think of my Ork Armor Change Research package idea? It's in the previous DOWpro thread.

    The underlying problems these researches address:

    1. Ork early harass/rush which is strengthened in DOWpro while all other race's early harass are nerfed.

    2. DOWpro NLs are inferior.

    3. Lack of heavy armor pre-Nobz.

    4. Early strength of MANz.

    What problem messages are you getting Demonspawn?

    You probably already know but make sure you are running the correct mod (DoWPro 1.49.1) while trying to watch ur reps. Some of the old reps posted on relic forums are for different versions of DoWPro (Most 1.48).

    But if you can't even save reps then I dunno how to help sry

    Thats not a bug. It's been around since DoW 1.00

    Loving this version BTW, though I still maintain belief in that zerkers should be shocktroops that take morale damage, PSM should be shocktroops that deal morale damage(wich they are), and Raptors should be tie up troops.
    Also, am I missing something or do CSM totally suck against arty? They brake in ike, two shots and sometimes barley get off more then a single volley.

    Greetings, after many years lurking the relic forums I have finally decided to register my own account so that I can offer some input on dowpro.

    I have followed this mod since the release of winter assault, and have been quite impressed with the skill and dedication shown by all those involved in making it happen.

    It goes with out saying that this mod has taken dow in the direction is should have gone with winter assault in the first place.

    I have made this post to address a few issues I have noticed, the vast majority of them minor, however i wish to bring it to the attention the powers that be.



    -raptors lack the plasma glow effect on their light plasmas

    -Assault marines, unlike raptors are unable to upgrade to any ranged weapons?

    - Errors with bloodthirster regeneration, the bloodthirster only regenerates via standard attacks, it appears to lose health when initiating aoe attacks, it also halts its regeneration during kill animations resulting in it slowly losing health when fighthing weak troops. its regeneration works fine when its drop kicking termies around however.

    - Recommend a slight buff to the hp regeneration of the avatar, once you deplete its life bar it takes a very long time to regenerate.

    - Obliterator flamer appears to have less range than that of a CSM flamer

    - is there anyway to allow the fireprisim to fire on the move like in stock DOWWA ? same for the falcon? this will emphasise the eldars reliance on mobility

    - is it possible to set apothacaries move at the same speed as the squads they attach to? all to often apothacaries run faster (sm tac speed) than their terminator (sedated mule) escorts , they usually position themselves at the front of their squads and act as meatshields and are murdered even with ranged stance set

    -Any chance of the chaplain getting his aura back? I found it helped keep the sm heros alive longer

    last gripe

    - having issues with Firedragons, I feel they need to be touched up a little further, their set up time combined with their shorter range than the stock game and place in the tech teir make them VERY hard to employ.

    recommend some changes
    -slight increase in range
    - generalise their weapons perfomance somewhat - so that they do moderate damge to infantry types as opposed to the near zero they do now ? Im thinking make them as effective against infantry as say a squad of tankbusters using their rockets . . . maybe even just knockback disruption so that they dont just instanly melt when confronted with a troopswarm they cant disrupt
    - I recommend a very slight reduction in their hard anti vehicle capabilites and give them slight area effect damage similiar to a light D-Cannon?
    -Keep the setup time

    DoWPro Mirrors

    Hi guys,

    Following a few comments from the french players having difficulties to download DoWPro 1.49.1 from the current official site, I decided to try and find out some mirrors for the game.

    I currently contacted Relic in order to initiate a Torrent from their official tracker.

    I also contacted the french site of the mod team currently designing the Witch Hunters - Codex Adepta Sororitas to try and get a mirror up there as well.

    FileFront could be also a useful site to reach potential players around. However, the upload process is requesting some legal stuff I can not deal with without the authorization of Korbah.

    Korbah, can you please have a look there when you read this post and PM me about it ?

    Finally, the french site of team BAT should also be able to provide an access point to DoWPro. This will clearly help all european players to access the mod easily.


    Regarding translation, f4lx did a great job on the spanish version. I will have a look around and we will then issue it on DoWHispano, the spanish forum for Dawn of War. This will enable us to get some feedback from native spanish players before we include the translation within DoWPro (possibly by the creation of a "Translate to Spanish" patch for the guys using a Spanish version of the game).

    Also, am I missing something or do CSM totally suck against arty? They brake in ike, two shots and sometimes barley get off more then a single volley.
    Arty does insane morale damage now when hitting several guys of the same squad, nothing can stand against it for long.

    -Assault marines, unlike raptors are unable to upgrade to any ranged weapons?
    They got Meltas and Frags, fair trade.

    - Errors with bloodthirster regeneration, the bloodthirster only regenerates via standard attacks, it appears to lose health when initiating aoe attacks, it also halts its regeneration during kill animations resulting in it slowly losing health when fighthing weak troops. its regeneration works fine when its drop kicking termies around however.
    This has been around since 1.0, you are right. He is not considered as in Combat when doing AoE attacks and he is also the only unit that doesn't regen during kill anims.

    - Obliterator flamer appears to have less range than that of a CSM flamer
    Lower range & worse AI when thinking about when to use it

    -Any chance of the chaplain getting his aura back? I found it helped keep the sm heros alive longer
    He still has it, it is now activated for a certain amount of time & called something else with emporer in its name. It also boost morale regen now IIRC.

    But u could also promote it more ,cause as i find almost NO1 has it in the gamespy WA lobby,cept for the few individuals that have actually played it for a while.Also its quite hard to convince them to get it.I tried to convince a mate a a whole week before he download it.
    It took me days of telling him,covvincig him that DOWpro is worth getting and that its actually very good...etc etc
    I got it cause i was sick and tired of WA and i thought "what the hell,it couldnt get any worse then this",so u see i got it by accident and was thrilled.U must speak in the common gamers language if u want a greater player base and not just
    "on higher level of play blahblah WA isnt very good blah blah,
    DOWpro is balanced blah".
    I mean i care about balance a lot cause im an long-time online RTS gamer,but try telling other reasons then balance like "its more fun,chalenging ,more fluffy,there arent jerk players-flamers,u can explore diferent strategies,imagination actually matters more over spamm" dunno
    So u see i dodnt get convinced by u to get it,it was more that i got disapointed in WA that got me playing DOWpro,and i havent played a WA game ever since[well to with DAN cause hes a friend],of automatch i dont even think about playing.....
    What can i say,your propaganda sux!!!! :square:
