    Ultramarines Courage and Honour MOD (were back in bussiness)

    It is with great honour that i finnaly start to show the work that has been done in secret as a "gift" to the community, involving many great moddelers, texturers, AI expert and many more collaborators (we how you guys a ton of thanks). I will start in presenting the Team Members:

    Project Leader/PR Guy/Fluff Monk (not by my choice!!! )
    - DarknessKnight

    3D Model Artists:
    - Quebéc Dug (Senior moddeler)

    Texturers:
    - Stevo (when hes finished with BA mod)
    - Quebéc Dug

    AI Wizard:
    - Thudmeizer






    Collaborators and Patrons:
    - Palli ( honored us in helping us use night shift)
    If i have forgotten any please forgive me...

    The objective of this mod is, as is it implied in the name is to bring the ultramarines TT models and struture of the Ultramarines ingame to the DC game. We are aware that there are other UM mods in play but in no way we mimic then of even try to portait their ideias, all the things showed and to make is this mod are made from collaboration from the C2C mod and kindred minds like Medes and Dug. For all the UM Mod teams other there we all wish you all the best, alas, we follow our own path. The gamming struture, as in the TT game is as follow:

    - Maneus Calgar Comand Squad (lesser WIPs done)
    - Cassius (not done yet)
    - Tigurus (not done yet)
    - 1st Company Vets* ( fully done)
    2nd company
    - Force Comander (fully done)
    - Company Comand Squad ( only anims remaining)
    - Tac Squads* (fully done)
    - Assault Squads* (fully done)
    - Devastator Squads* (fully done)
    - Ven Dreadnaught (waiting final texture skin)
    - Compilers vehicles ( yet again ny most humble thanks)
    - Mudflaps bikes (waiting final confirmation)

    *Medes randomization and weapons upgrades

    For now our mod is multiplayer directed but with time its our goal to grow to a single player mod with maps and missions of its own. ( animators, map makers needed!!!)

    Ultramarines, eh? How about Ultramar PDF units to take the place of Scouts in tier1? I can well imagine WA Imperial Guards with proper paint scheme and emblems or the Mordians Borther Santos made to fit quite well.

    Anyway, good luck (not that you'd actually need it with a team like that) and break a leg!

    Its not the Emperor Champion good Nevin, its the Company Champion, Only the Black Templars may use the Emperor Champion, but the Chapter Champion is going to be made by our resident model wizard Quebéc Dug, together with the honor Guards and Ancient as ilustraded in the pic below...

    That wouldn't be very fluffy, because they aren't in the realm of Ultramar because the Ultramarines protect their mini-empire themselves.

    Not entirely true. It's true that they usually fight outside of Ultramar (the Ultramar worlds maintain several hundred regiments ready to join the IG and which often fought alongside the Ultramarines in their campaigns all over the galaxy). But that's just because of Ultramar's special situation. In the first place these units are raised to defend the realm of Ultramar (the Ultramarines couldn't do that by themselves, since they are only a 1000 strong).

    So the Ultramarines and Ultramar PDF often fight together, both in- and outside of Ultramar.

    I think it would add a nice touch and make the Ultramarines a bit more different from the vanilla marines apart from just having more options (judging from what's been written in this thread).

    Yes that is true, the Ultramar chapter worlds have a fixed force that has fought and died with the ultramarines during the Tyranid invasion of if im not mistaken Hive behemoth tyranid force, where the Famous 1st company was wiped out on the Close Quarter Battles of the poles stations.

    I just love the look of the honour guard with those eagles on their face.
    The most cool looking unit in 40k for me.
    Thats why I made my blessed one look similar.

    Here's an idea

    Why not reveal a secret mod when the beta is ready? That way we don't have another thing to anticipate (like the xpac and some other cool mods) and can get our teeth into it straight away....just a thought.

    By revealing mods in progress you just get people on the boards informing you that "this isn't fluffy" or "wouldn't it be cool if you did [unreasonable request]" etc etc

    its a good ideia but we came to terms that the amount of work needed to get a mod this size to work is imense and that we could not stay "secret" for much longer. Requests? Sorry guys but we have our strategic planned already so, not much requests will be done, only those that can come to our line of thought will be considered but we will listen to ALL of course!!! Feedback is a wonderfull thing and theres alot of greats minds here that we have respect to... For the Fluff part guys, i have 2 books full of units simbols, pads, banners, etc, etc, so i think the fluff is garanteed here, fear not...

    Since the 1st Company were wiped out, are you going to stick to the fluff and leave out veterans and Termies?

    Didn't think so. It'd be a silly idea anyway lol.

    They could very well include first company. If you look on Page 48 of Codex Space Marines, under the Chaplain Cassius special character information, the last sentence of his mini bio if you will, reads as follows:

    "And now, with the strength of the Chapter restored, he has allowed the Banner of Macragge to be carried into battle once more."

    Also, on page 20 of Codex Space Marines, it discusses the Battle for Macragge. At the end of the first paragraph on that page, right above the section labled 'Kraken and Leviathen', the last sentence reads as follows:

    "It is only now, two hundred and fifty years later, that the Chapter has returned it's First Company to full strength."

    So, for obvious reasons, including the first company in this mod, is perfectly legal and fluffy.

    Fist Company is under Comand of the Brother Captain Agemman, and in full strenght so yes they will in the game, after all its in the first post under units... :angel:

    Meh. I'm not a Rabid Ultramarines fan, I kind of hate Space Marines. Good and Rigteous f**kers. Good modeling though, dreadnought looks Excellent. When the Tyranid Mod is completed, it would be interesting to fuse those two mods and see who would win. Macragge! That'll never happen though.

    Once again.. Bravo guys for bringing the UltraMarines alive! Ordos from DaemonHunters had an UltraMarines mod going but regrettably it died months and months ago. However, yer team has it down and damn WHAT PROGRESS! Dying to code some AI for you guys when yer techtree and general \attrib folder are ready!

    Havoc That model So reminds me of the daemon infected blood angel from Angels Sanguinius, anyway the Pdf Idea is great remember the book dead sky black sun yeah I felt sorry for all those guardsmen and guardswomen anyway looks great so far and as a avid Ultramarines PLayer I can't wait!!

    since it's an ultras mod, you will be including Calgar I hope? It'd be cool if you could make the 2 versions of him (termie armour and artificer armour) or just start off with artificer and have an upgrade to termie?

    As i have explained in the inicial post, Maneus Calgar and Honour Guards WILL be present, as it implies an added workload to have both armors, we have chosen the Termie articiers armor for Maneus Calgar. Also the Chapter Champion and Ancient will be present.

    some tweaks in the name of fluffyness were made to the company champion and Comand Squad, and, when Dug and i are happy with the fluff, we will send them to our resident animator for custom anims... :call: for now a taste of Dugs genius...

    Whats the difference (apart from stats) between this lot and the honour guard? I take it you'll use different models?

    No, these are Special units, not heros, the heros are still wip... They will have some stats better than most squads and a better comand area, if ya wait to see them in action all your question will be answered... be patient...

    Weapons look kinda flattish in my opnion...and for some reason the shield, or at least, the way they hold the shield looks complete pants.

    Absolutely love the helm and sword though.

    looks nice so far!
    i just wish you would either not paint the sergeant's arm and leg as bionical bodyparts upon the normal armor model, or replace the model's parts by a necron arm and necron leg, to resemble real bionical body parts.
    and the belt really should not be yellow, but blue like the armor, to make it really fluffy or true to the codex.

    just a tought , i just got a bit tired and decided to add some mecanical texture parts ( TKS HAVOC !!! ). Tought that since he'S a veterans sergent , he might had some explosion on his side at one point in his ' career ' and lost his arm and leg. Had to be replace by bionics.

    BUT this is just my taste

    And we just decided last night to let it stay, so it stays... If Dug wants to play with it more, we at the team are happy with it, we have come to trust is judgement above all when it comes about his artwork, and perhaps even more models will have it with time.

    Are you kidding? It's been, like, a week or so! There is a lot of work that has to be done, and most modders don't feel like writing a daily update, ie:
    Monday - stared at the lua's for 8 hours hoping they would magically make sense.
    Tuesday - modeller pm'd, is going on vacation for a week
    Wednesday - sent the texturer yet another email asking for a sitrep

    So, don't worry, and just be encouraging. The best thing a modder will see in a post (outside of "how do I donate?") is, "Looks great, can't wait! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!", as opposed to "OMFG whn is this dam thing gunna be dun ??!?!"

    LOL dude i bought the books , don't think this mod is dead, it ain't. We are all working hard on this. And BELIEVE U ME, Calgar is going to drive the 2nd company into the hearts of the heretics :evilnod:, eaven if i have to fall asleep at the wheel again lol ( hence the little break i HAD to take )

    well, we'll have to model his tomb, cuz he'S either dead or in a deep sleep ( poisoned by .. can't remember name , traitor Primarch from the Iron Warior Legion , i think ) from wich he will awaken a some point in time.
