Minor Annoyance about viewing posts

For some reason that I do not know when ever I make a post and click submit the forum seems to think that I need to keep looking at my post. What I am talking about is that when I finish posting and I try to scroll my view of the thread away from my post my view jumps back to my post. If I try to read a thread from the beginning my view almost always jumps to the last post in the thread even though I would like to read the start of the thread FIRST! Can anyone explain to my why this is and tell me a way to make it stop?

Browsers are dumb that way. The page is still loading. Press stop in the browser (or the escape key) if you want. Alternatively, remove the anchor.

i.e. make:

into:
