Gah, I'm probably out of the running now. Dammit, and I had SOME hopes that the Canoness would be able to get some killin done. If only I'd been able to afford a flamer or two...Maybe ditched the Inferno Pistol from the Canoness, since it doesn't sound like it's done anything useful.
Woukd flamers be able to wound a 'fex?

Dang... that's hysterical. What's the save on a daemonette, just so I know? I had four Veteran Marines left... and they killed eight. So, there were eight attacks for eight hits and eight failed saves. That's insanity... and my one last guy kills the final two. That's the God Emperor looking out for me there.
I've got to know whether this was just pure dumb luck or if daemonettes have really low saves.

I have done the next few groups, but don't currently have time to post them. Will do so tomorrow.
But just 1 point I wanted to address...
When you killed 8, you were charging. So struck at the same time and had more attacks.I had four Veteran Marines left... and they killed eight. So, there were eight attacks for eight hits and eight failed saves. That's insanity
You did this with a total of 18 attacks. Not 8. And 3 of those were lightning Claws and 3 were Power Weapons. All at S5.
Just so people don't get the wrong idea and think there was any form of foul play in this...
Also, Daemonettes have 5+ Invulnerable save

He's got terminator armor and a manreaper. Thus 2+ save and +D6 hits. The dice were with the Nurgle lord, certainly, but it's well within the realm of possibility.

It's just failed to do anything. Basically if you fail to cause any rending wounds you will struggle to wound.
That simply wasn't put in the report, as as there is alot of stuff to write, and it does take a while. So I just must have missed writing it as it wasn't overly important.
You got a single rend. Which was saved by the 5+ invulernable. The rest that managed to get through... only 2 or 3. As you need 4s to hit and then 5's to wound.
So it's really not that special.
Ok, that clears it up. I was just wondering as you didn´t mention about failing to get any rends.

This kind of competition is where orks really shine. Their racial weaknesses are crap shooting and, when footslogging, being slow to get in the fight. Their strengths are toughness, numbers and CC. What does this competition do? It limits shooting to one round and guarantees, as long as an entry survives the shooting, that they will get into CC. Thus it minimizes the orks weaknesses and maximizes their strengths.I just noticed that the Ork entries are doing very well
Plus, the real strength of the orks here is that they are horde entries. You think that Carnifex or Avatar have a lot of wounds and attacks? Well, my 'ard boyz -- one of the smaller horde entries -- have 16 wounds and 31 attacks. 46 on the charge, with I4 if no casualties taken in shooting. Plus choppas. Hurray for choppas. Barring crazy dice shenanigans, an ork squad will win this competition.
The only entries I'm really worried about are the nurgle lords and the other orks. But my choppas should come in handy against the nurgles and my 'eavy armor should come in handy against the orks. Kinda wish I'd put a PK on my nob, though.
Edit: Oops, my total attacks are 61. I forgot the extra attack for 2x CCW.

Indeed, I may lack the PK and a Nob, but I have the ability for 19 str 5 Orks and a power weapon wielding pigdok. Which I suppose is deadly.

Well I may have the classical ork entry (if thats not somekinda of oxymoron) but don't underesitmate my hidden PK nob and all thoughs choppas. Also I have high hopes for those burnas being so flexible in use.
But the orks will hate my purgaters. One incinerater is enough to annoy orks, 3 is really cool.
