[DoW v1.4] ERRORS: Spooge driver not found. Verify that DirectX is Properly Installed

My son purchased DoW this weekend and I can't get past the old driver problem. I have followed the solutions provided in other threads but I can't get it to work. I have updated directx and the ATI drivers to Catalyst v6.5.

Appreciate any suggestions.

thats not good, I recommend updating your motherboard drivers.

Also its worth mentioning that your processor is beneath the minimum requirements for the game, but you should still be able to play (just dont go turning any settings up high).

Just an update. I was able to get it working. I checked all my drivers (motherboard, etc) and updated to the latest version but still was getting the error. Nothing seemed to work. If installing the latest drivers was still the not the fix I decided to go back one realease on the ATI card driver. Originally I updated to Catalyst v6.5 with no luck. I loaded CATALYST 5.5 Windows XP - Driver Download and that fixed my problem. We've been playing single user and multiuser with no problem.

hello, help!! please!!

i have just borrowed a game off my mate, dawn of war double pack; dawn of war:game of the year addition & dawn of war: winter assault.

i have installed everything for it and i click play and it comes up :

ERRORS:
Spooge driver not found. Verify that directX is properly installed.

When it come to tech on comps im like as smart as a lampost...Can any body give me some simple instructions/explanations please? It would be very much appreciated.
