    Unit dies fast?

    Heya.

Well, my question is... how many bullets and time whould it take to kill and emeny soldier?
Whould it take 2 hours and 300 bullets killing a single squad like in Dawn of War, or this time they'll die in seconds with only few bullets hitting them (like Starcraft.. etc.)?

    :matrix:

Depends on where the bullets hit. This game has no health bars so a shot to the head = insta kill. Charing a machine gun head on is basically instant kill. snipers a generally instant kill. 2 sub machine gun squads fighting over a long range will take time to kill each other due to accuracy and units in cover will survive longer.

depends on the cover the units have. Im pretty sure units die fast (1 or 2 bullets) but with the right cover and having your enemy miss alot firefights can last a while.

DoW troops had to be like that since they couldn't take cover.

well I am sure their are alot of non instant kills or else the medics would be useless, but it seems when a person is hit, they are either dead or out of action, there dont seem to be any minor wounds at least I havent seen any, unless these are considered just misses.

I do love the automated medic recovery, but was hoping some wounds cld be treated there and now instead of a long haul back to the field hospital. Or possibly if its a minor wound the soldier would get up after a few seconds to fight on partially, possibly show a limp or stagger.

A unit takes a hit - a unit goes down. Depending on the potential lethality of the shot it's either lights out or the soldier lies on the ground waiting for a medic. Good idea, we'll see how it turns out.

aparently if units are right on top of each other they die almost instantly, it relys on accuracy rather than anything else

i loved that soldier on the tank machine gun, in the early videos, were the shermans conquered a city square. is that an upgrade? i think it is, cause when they started the attack that guy popped out, and started shooting, then it was killed, and after a few secconds his body returned to the tank, and the hatch closed. ready for another one

i noticed several soldiers killed while runing into covers, so i think a unprotected soldier is a dead soldier.

also perticiula peises of cover, such as boxes, fall apart if under heavy enough fire, even from somthing like MG fire

If soldiers whould be nothing without cover, and there are so many covers - that could create a new problem - if troops will allways be under cover, what's the point of taking cover?

my only problem is that looking at some of the videos half the german troops cant hit the side of a shed....

instances where the guys almost litteraly 2 feet away and the german has to fire 2-3 seconds on full auto to hit him once.

Accuracy can probly be modded though, or relic might tweak it to be better.

The point is, you can pin troops in positions that don't offer full coverage.

    Cover can be destroyed.
    Cover can be created.
Ambushes utilize the important seconds until the ambushed get into cover.
Cover is not always of the same quality.
The importance of balancing cover ignoring and cover utilizing move commands.
