(DC DPS) Dark Crusade - Damage per Second
Slow_Runner is working on an easier to understand version, but the raw values can be found as an attachment to this post.
First is listed what unit is what armour type, then a table of the DPS each weapon does to each armour type. ![]() ----------------------- 20.3.2007: Added a DC 1.2 DPS file, all thanks to Corsix' most awesome tools. -Slow_Runner ----------------------- DC 1.2 DPS and damage values, sorted by units can be found here. -Slow_Runner Last edited by Slow_Runner : 21st Dec 07 at 11:13 AM. |

I actually missed this thread at first glance because it's up at the top and doesn't have the abbreviation "DPS" - might want to add something like "(DPS) table" to the end of the thread title. :P

A little hard to find certain items, but its nice to finally have a DPS chart for DC, thanks to everyone who made it possible!
P.S. On the BB, the demolisher cannon is the main cannon and the battle cannon is the howitzer on the hull right or is it the other way around? |

@haisho : try a 2:1 ratio of warriors to Immortals. Immortals are very good av/ab but cant teleport back if the situation goes bad... so you dont want to over invest in them.
@You dps monkies : good job... cant wait to dig in. |

Yeah, I think Immortals are waaay better than Horrors against vehicles due to weapon range and firing speed and reinforceability. They are stronger in melee than Necron Warriors but have much lower HP (400 health throughout the entire game). Keeping in mind that you'll have a squad of five of these guys can make things pretty scary in vehicle-land.
Of course, Attack Scarabs do even more damage at 30DPS to vehicle_low and _med EACH - 450DPS total if you manage to get all 15 in the squad gathered around the vehicle (easy with a Baneblade, but only 12DPS each or 180DPS total against vehicle_high). This makes them even better against vehicles than they are against buildings, a surprise indeed! The numbers for the Flayed Ones building damage are still wrong. :P |

Hmmm...brightlances seem to be buffed considerably. Not only are they cheaper, their AV and building damage has been increased since WA. They do 84 compared to 67 (in WA )against vehicle low, and 70 to 56 against vehicle med. I think we will be seeing the brightlance spam of DOW soon.. But shuriken cannon platform has been denied thier much needed buff...weird.

Can someone point me in the direction of a file hosting site - I need to get a spread sheet of IG numbers up for error checking.
In the mean time, anyone care to comment on the lack of an IC plasma entry - theres a flamer entry, so I used that, but 11 dps is kind of low for plasma I would think. |

An interesting thing that I noticed is that scout plasma at 34.5 dps (vs 32)might do better vs heavy_med than tac plasma. Maybe a dps value is missing?
The tac sarge PP upgrade isn't a downgrade anymore, but the difference in dps is very small. SM commander PP damage is still a good reason to put them on ranged stance to stay out of trouble or regen. |

Thanks Slow runner, thanks, corsix, thanks everyone who worked on this.
EDIT: Hmmm took a look at this, what are the "Advance" weapons? Would that be the weapons upgradeable in campaign and the honor guards? And omg haha the chaos lord actually out damages the bloodthirster in most armor classes except vehicles. Also, there's a few entries for "guard flamer bunker HQ" .... wazzat? Grenade launcher guard heavy weapons team... Guard plasma pistol captain. there's that ridiculous building_low damage from the necron lord. Tau Centaur artillery. Tau energy bolt. And a couple of other things that are a little bit "?" Last edited by Compeador : 23rd Oct 06 at 2:08 PM. |

The developers probably haven't cleaned up all of the old unused entries (looks like units and weapons that didn't make the cut) from the data files. Older versions of the dps charts included the obsoleted weapons but the .lua hounds have been through everything to see which weapons actually get used in MP and remove the rest.

ARGH ALERT:
Corsix, Kresjah and I have confirmed that the Damage Per Second numbers for most melee/close-combat units are totally wrongified because of the special attacks that some of them use. This was always a fact in Dawn of War and Winter Assault, but it was apparently never obvious that the DPS numbers were not matching up because they were close to what people were experiencing. Flayed Ones, for instance, have a special attack that's randomly triggered after a number of seconds and does an obscene amount of building damage. Another example is where the Dreadnought or Killa Kan spin around and and do an area-of-effect knockback. These types of attacks have separate stat profiles from the regular close-combat weapon so actual DPS numbers may be higher (due to high damage caused by a special attack) or lower (disruption, low damage, long timer interrupting regular attacks) for a lot of units. This does not seem to affect ranged units in any way. |

I think this is on purpose, since the Balance team sayd that the necron was used to harass early game, and i would suppose Listening posts have building low armor. |

If it's ok with Corsix, I'm hosting a CSS-modified version of that file here;
http://www.wh40k.se/DoW_DPS.html ...To make it easier with the download.... Of course it got credits to Corsix and an URL back here. |

OK, I just finished sorting out some of the dps. You can find them here. As I don't even have DC yet, there's bound to be plenty of screw-ups there so if you spot any, please let me know.

I made a supplemental post to Troubleshooter's second IG replay pack that has an attachment with a spreadsheet for IG DPS values that I've been working on. It's kind of messy at the moment and currently lacks the "minimum DPS" of each weapon (that is, DPS for the minimum damage value that overrides a "0 DPS" entry), but hey -- it takes into account weapons and upgrades bonuses and is moddable to your needs, while including other weapons data that's not readily apparent.
It's only got infantry and Officers at the moment, so it's a work in progress. More to come soon. |

Cross-reference with the entity blueprints so you know for sure which units use which weapons.

The special attacks thingie is indeed a problem with a lot of melee units. For most basic CC units it shouldn't be however. Units to get special attacks or weird abilities are at least the following:
Commanders, MANz, Walkers, Flayed Ones, Pariahs, CC ubers. Probably a fair bit more too. |

Hey if you guys don't mind, I'm sticking the DPS data into a SQL DB and I'll do a searchable version of the data? Where You can display a table that displays chaos damage across the board vs. eldar units instead of by armor etc...
I believe this makes it easier to check if say I'm X race, what should I shoot Y race with? ![]() I would like to do it either in PHP or asp.net , can I get it hosted somewhere on relicnews? Thanks ![]() |

Looking at the flayed ones dps, they shouldnt do so much building damage. But on the other hand, they trigger special animations from time to time that make a lot of damage.
Watching them destroy buildings even with broken morale, i wonder... does this special animation damage suffer from the morale modifier? |

To contact Moe, looking through the members list will do the trick or just use this link to his user profile.
ocelete, to my knowledge the special attacks aren't affected by morale. |

Maybe thats one of the problems with flayed ones doing so much damage. They should do 0.333 to HQ, which is irrelevant compared to what they already do.
So, if their damage is based on an special attack triggered too often, it wont matter if they have broken morale or not... even maybe they do more damage with morale broken due to moving faster Just imaging, i dont know if what i said is true; but the truth is they dont do 0.333 dps and they do lots of damage even broken. |
