[MOD] Dawn of Warhammer 40K:Firestorm
![]() This mod is the result of a merging between the two mods Dawn of Warhammer 40K and C2C:Firestorm over Kronus. To sum up, what this mod does is: Quote:
Other than that we're also delivering a closer to codex and fluff campaign redux. This time round, when you're setting Kronus on fire you'll get to choose to lead one of the following factions; Blood Ravens, 1st Kronus Liberators, Word Bearers, T'au Sept, Clan Gorgutz, Ulthwe Craftworld or the Kronus Necrons. Each faction with their own traits not available in skirmish or multiplayer. NOTE: The current beta version is not yet compatible with DC single player campaign, we're loking to polish multiplayer and skirmish first. yeach, 3rd expansion to DOW !!!
Relic made great game for almost everyone who likes RTS, but I'm TT player and I always feel like something is mising in DOW, than WA with broken IG and weak campaign, DC was much better but still far away from what it should be. most mods in this forum will never be finished, i just hope that Medes and MK (and rest of the team) will have strength to finish DoW40k:FS. (i'm too old to be optimist) btw. NO SUMMER HOLIDAYS IN MALAYSIA ??? why ??? poor poor malaysians |

He's likening the DoW40k project to a 3rd expansion out of a sense of general enthusiasm.
Does the DoW40k:F team still intend to make a parallel version of DoW40k 1.0 that is compatible with Winter Assault as they did with the DoW40k:OF, or has this been abandoned with the merger of the mods and the leadership / staff shifts? |

I think it's safe to say that the WA version have been abandoned, due to the many changes made in the core gameplay/concept, such as IG doctrine balance and Codex-like Command Squads. Most of them used the changes brought forth from DC, going back would mean a serious overhaul of the core balance. |

Infiltration and branching research mainly. Core balance such as HP, cost, damage and AP would be unaffected.
We'd also have to leave out the units that DC added, not to mention Necrons and Tau. |

Considering the effort that goes into getting one version of the mod out trying to get two out would merely delay both. The branching tech trees will be a huge change that should bring out a load of new gameplay.
