Patch 2.201 Instructions for patching from 2.103 - 2.201
Hi everyone,
With the release of today’s 2.201 patch, please note that due to an error in the 2.103 patch you will need to either manually apply the 2.201 patch or re-install the game. The instructions below only apply if your game is currently patched to 2.103: a) Manual application of the 2.103 - 2.201 patch. 1. Load Company of Heroes and download the 2.201 patch. 2. Once the patch transfer is complete, exit the game. 3. Browse to the following folder to find the patch file: XP Users: C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\Patch Vista Users: C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\Patch 4. Double click the on the ##_2103_2201_Patch.exe file. (## designates a language prefix) 5. Apply the patch. 6. Launch Company of Heroes. b) Re-installing the game. 1. Uninstall Company of Heroes via Control Panel or Start Menu (THQ -> Company of Heroes -> Uninstall). 2. Do not check the box that opts to remove your saved games. This will ensure that previously downloaded patches are not removed. 3. Install Company of Heroes. 4. Load Company of Heroes and download the patch to 2.201. Users who have installed the original Company of Heroes will need to apply the megapatch, then patch to 2.201. 5. Apply the patch 6. Launch Company of Heroes. ok so...if we never downloaded the latest bugged patch..meaning we still have..umm..1.03? or something...cant remember the #...we wont have to manually install the patch or reinstall the game? just clarifying...i'm kinda tired..
err nvm...went to moe's link...i know whats going on now....nvm..again.. |

Yeah from what I understand the huge cuffuffle with 2.200 was caused by an error in 2.103 not 2.200.
This means we all have to manually install the new patch. I'm curious though, what about those who don't read forums? Won't they try and do it automatically? |

Steam Users
The patch is not working for steam users. Hopefully this isn't going to take several days to get the patch to Steam, as it has before. I regret buying this game from steam at all now, but not so much I want to go out and buy a new copy just so I can play.
Any ETA on getting the patch from Steam? |

Hi everyone,
The only version of the game that requires you manually apply the patch is 2.103. This is the result of a bug in the 2.103 game client. The bug does not exist in any other version of the client. A newly installed version of Opposing Fronts will need to apply one patch (2.101 - 2.201) in order to get to the latest version of the game. Hope this clarifies things slightly. Thanks, mukkel |

Well I am up and running on the server now. They have the instructions in this thread on the server to help people who don't visit the forum I guess, but I don't see how they can log in and read the news if they are forced to restart the game everytime they click multiplayer due to the patch auto downloading and forcing you to restart.
Oh man I hope this is just a temporary side effect, but nearly all the games have red X's now. The server just went down, I'm gonna go get some food then try again in 20 minutes. |

Just to say that I have manully applied the 2.103 - 2.201 patch and everything looks fine. I was able to join game. The whole process took about 30mins to apply the fix. I just followed the instrustions in the original post for manually appling the patch. |

im really really lucky im just install a new mainboard I have reformatted the pc and reinstall coh....now I see hmmmm strange i have all patch backed up and it downloads anyway a patch....strange not strange is 2.201 !!! i think u must reinstall the game...for have no problem....

My problem is I have CoH installed from DVD and CoH: OF from Steam. What do I do?
I started CoH: OF via Steam and downloaded the patch. It was of 112.65MB. I then exited the game and tried to manually install it like it says here on the forum. An error message came up. I uninstalled CoH (but not CoH: OF) and luckily for me I had allready downloaded all patches so the latest patch I applied was the monster patch of ca 1.8GB. I then started CoH and it said I needed a patch of about 114.74MB. It is at this point my problems begin. The patch will not download. I then tried to start CoH: OF and it said I needed a patch of 112.65MB. I know I have allready downloaded it, but I press OK to download it and it states I am done downloading and the game exits. When I try to manually apply the patch it just comes up an error message saying "This patch updates Company of Heroes version 2.103, but you appear to have version 2.101.0 installed already. To download the latest patches, run CoH and log in to Relic Online. (Error code 10244)" What do I do? Is the download server down since I cannot download the patch with a size of 114MB? |

I cannot download the patch. Retail COH, Steam OF..
When I start COH:OF it says I dont have the right version and a patch is not available. If I download the patch from the link provided and attempt to run it manually it says I dont have a valid COH installation. Do I need to reinstall or wait? I want to play, but at least I would like to know what I am supposed to do. EDIT: I currently have v2.103 Last edited by philidor18x : 11th Dec 07 at 3:39 PM. |

diluca, the patch is alright. patched it just a few minutes ago. just tell us what the problem/error code is. i had a problem patching because i did not have enough space free on the drive. you need at least 4 to 5 gb.
