[2.400]Attention. Mods DO work.
You will need to do the following:
-change your shortcut -change your module It works with archived and unarchived mods. BIG thanks to Mannerheim for this. As a note to you before you go on, I do not know if -dev works, or if maps work. But I do know that personal mods do, with the following stuffs done properly. Change your shortcut's -modname (name) to -mod (name). Changing your module should be alot of fun. As in, I was given Mannerheim's module and did stuff to it that I'm not too proud of. Or rather, on a more serious note, don't quite understand. Here's what my modified module looks like after my changes. For your mod, change DevMod (replace with notepad) to whatever your mod's name is. --sneaky 'six edit: Polish spaces removed with no smilies inserted either [global] UIName = DevMod Description = Mods do work with this Panzer Jager, but things that have been patched are effecting the mod. I mean, in my mod, the Kampfkraft Centre is removed, but it still shows up, and the units I made don't show up either. Any gameplay change I made don't show up, except the artwork. The modstudio doesn't see the new files, and it still shows the red files I made changes too, and in the modstudio it all looks good, but ingame there's no difference.
I think this means we have to wait for a new modstudio (unlikely), or someone who can tell us what's wrong. Look, for example the wehrmacht quarters has been changed in the patch (maby some changes with the MG damage, or anything small), and so any changes I made on my wehrmacht quarters are not shown. |

How-To: Get old mod changes working
This is a very boring job, but I think it's the only way to get your mod changes you made before patch 2.400 working again. Just open all your red files in the modstudio (the ones you edited) and simply hit the save button. You have to repeat this for every file you changed, and which is red....

What has happens another change for COH .After their failure with the 2.3 ver they fix the -dev with 2.31 .Now we have similar issues . I 'm downloading the patch and I will see if my mod (skin mod basically) is working with the aboves fixes. Thanks all of you for such excellent work . I had thought that something like this will happens with the TOV release. The game companies does not respect the community. For example ETW is full of bugs CTD etc. I'm hopping that relic will make the thinks easiest in a future patch release!
PS Are they any Corsix Mod studio new Version? |

My mod which has always worked with every patch does not work even after editing the module and changing the shortcut parameters.
I have always packed the files into sga and I don't see any paths in the module changes that point to them anymore. I tried editing to include the paths but that isn't making any difference. Only a couple of my changes show up, none of the upgrades or abilities are there or any of the new squads I made and the squads I changed are now back to the basic game again. |

it seems as plays the file-date a very important role, which file is used from coh, the original one or that from the mod. all files in the mod must be newer as the patch-date. even files in sga-archives. then the mod will be playable.

I think I fount out what is wrong .According to @Panzer Jager we have to modify the module there the line with the mod archives is missing I played around a little and I found that my skin mod works but with the default unit names not the castume textures because these had been changing through archive . There is the problem the archive files! I will play around and see If I will find a solution.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- according to #1 post and after some mesh around I found a middle solution ,now the next step is that some atribs in ebps ( 5 different volks skins apears but not 3 different MG gunners ) , I will make afinal try to correct it ,but the solution of @panzer jagger is correct here is my module ( my mod nbame is Waffen_ss) Quote:

It has been brought to our attention by Mannerheim and Marcus (Cozmoisme) that due to Relics new "anti cheat" system, any Mod that uses no base building (uses SCAR functions) is basically screwed because this is seen as a cheat.
So we are trying to contact relic and see what can be done about this, as far as I know this affects 4 mods, could be more that I dont know about. Until this is fixed all of those mods are borked and not going to work. |

I'm also having issues with the .ucs descriptions.
I seem to have everything working, but all the descriptions are the $000 . Has anyone found a solution? I also tried resaving the .ucs files with the newer date, but that didn't change anything. Do you think maybe it has something to do with the order in the module file (since the ww2 is is listed before <your mod>)? I'm guessing not. Does anyone know EXACTLY what's different with the new .module file format from the last? I noticed it seems to have to do with the language areas. The new mod uses the newest file atribs from beta patches also I have notice that include all the units that will be supported in TOV so I have to remake my skinmod (each unit have his own skin etc) again from the beginning to see that if this is working!
Also if someone wish to have his mod the easyest solution is to have 2 installation one with the ver 2.4 and one for mods ver 2.301 |

Interesting discovery :
In this part - Code:
I added a 4th folder (the one for the mod), and it didn't do anything. However, when I moved that folder (the one for the mod) into the folder.01 spot and moved the others down 1, it changed a lot. Suddenly, everything else in the game was $######, and the custom descriptions for the mod were correct! I tried moving them around to no avail - haven't been able to get both to work. Out Module file looks like this at the moment (I put that part in question in bold) : |

did you do anything else - adding that helped, but I still don't get the correct descriptions. If I put the
Code:
first, and Code:
second, the regular things are there. When I do it the opposite, N44 stuff is there but not the regular stuff |

I'll try that
Edit - Nope, didn't work. I did find a workaround though. If you put your mod's path first of the 4, and copypaste all the info from Relics .English file into your mods .English file, it works So, now N44's Normandy3.module file looks like this : I also made sure Normandy3 files were first everywhere else (which may or may not have made a difference in a couple of places) I also should note N44 is .sga archived as far as data and dataattrib, and I did repack them. Not sure if that is needed or what will happen for non .sga mods Last edited by sweeten2213 : 31st Mar 09 at 4:28 PM. |

@ Celestial - I tried that and it worked, but the descriptions were wrong.
I figured out a way around it though (using the ideas from this thread and on my own) and got it working with descriptions now. Edit - scratch that - just reread your post. I did get it working, but didn't try changing WW2Mod. May have to try that since I had to adjust the Normandy3.English file to get it working my way. |

Oh, and I forgot to say, to get all current changes working that you made before the patch, you have to open ALL the files you edited in the attrib\attrib folder and hit the save button for each. It's a very boring job, and not fun to do, but it's the only way to get it working.

Forunately N44 is archived so there was no problem there. The patch doesn't seem to effect .sga.
I'm gonna save what I have and try your idea now. Edit - just tried to no avail. Did it work for N44, or a different mod? I couldn't even get it to load. N44 has a ton of stuff in it's .module file that aren't included up top here (movies, sound, english, etc...) No big deal - the only flaw in my version is I had to include of all Relic's .English data into N44's. Works fine Last edited by sweeten2213 : 1st Apr 09 at 1:21 AM. |

Sorry, but for me dosent work...i think i miss it!
i try to show you what i've done: i try to play botb mod... 1-i change my shortcut (-mod botb) 2-change the botb.module (i used notepad) and change "botb" with "DevMod" (all the words in the .module file). Than save my work and play the game with "C:\Programmi\THQ\Company of Heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -mod botb ...but don't work! What's my error??? |

first: if you changed "DevMod" with "botb", it's wrong it should be "BotB". (without the quotes)
second: BotB is installed with an installer, so the shortcut was already made during the instalation. The target line should be this: "C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\BotBMod.exe" Another thing that may be a problem is that BotB is not fully archived, so parts of the mod don't work, you have to open the modstudio, and open all red files and hit the save button for each file. |

@Celéstial
you don't need to open and save each file. it's a too boring job. take a tool that can change the date/time of files and ran it recursivly. that's enough for that. my only problem at this time are the sounds. it's work only partly and partly false. |

Heeeeeeeeeeelp!!
Leave it to the CoH's dev teams to do it to us again.. ahhrrgggg!
I'm running a highly modded version of Combat Revolution: A Shattering of Countries (aka: SoC or CR: SoC) and noticed a lot of my module doesn't match up with the ones posted here. Likely the fact mine does not match the ones posted he might be that there is a lot off skin mods, sound mods, & in a nut shell, virtually all of the attributes files have been modded in some way shape or form (as well as a lot of the other Data files).. All in all though, I think the Module file should be the same or nearly the same as a standard SoC one. Also, as with all the CR & SoC versions available, it is a self executing install that automatically creates the start icons, etc and wasn't sure if that even needed to be changed since it needed niether the -dev or -modname/-mod in the command lines. . The Properties on the Start Icon are as follows: "C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\CR_SOCMod.exe" Can anyone help with the changes needed in this module so I can play my mod again within my lifetime? Thanks for any and all help! Panzer your module didn't work for me, so i started to look very carefully between your module, my original mod module, and the reliccoh.
i came up with this ( note that i'm using a new mod so up to data files and archives!) [global] UIName = xxx Description = xxx DllName = WW2Mod ModVersion = 1.0 ModFolder = xxx\Data ScenarioPackFolder = xxx\Scenarios SpeechManagerCache = SpeechManagerWW2.cache [attrib:common] folder = archive.01 = xxx\Archives\AttribArchive archive.02 = WW2\Archives\AttribArchive [movies:common] folder = WW2\Movies [movies:common:01] folder = Engine\Movies [data:common:01] folder = archive.01=xxx\Archives\xxxData archive.02=WW2\Archives\WW2Data |

Hey Guys, Im an ultra nube at modding and definately a learner driver when it comes to technical file type stuff. I love COH and have been using Corsix's Mod Studio 5.5 and it has been so much fun and has really increased my playing pleasure, but Im perplexed at how to overcome the new 2.4 transition, I know you guys are talking about how to overcome the issue, but I just dont understand what you guys are talking about. Could someone please educate me in ultra low tech lingo please. Pete1960

a mod is composed by a folder with files+the module (what we are talking about) + the original coh files.
the module is needed to coordinate which file the game loads, after the patch something changed so we need to find how to change the module to make him load all the files, like the old times |
