Hi DemoSS,
Thanks for deciding to make your skins downloadable. I have now downloaded all that are currently available. And should be installing them in my private mod tonight. I also love the new skins you are giving us a preview of on the thread. I particularly like the new camo CW officer, the Fallshirmjaeger, and that great new Wehrmacht camo grenadier. Keep up the excellent work !! It is very much appreciated !! You set a very high standard in your work. Well done !!!! And as you finish each skin, please continue to make them available available for download by the community. best wishes sunray ![]() Last edited by sunray : 27th Jul 09 at 5:19 PM. |

Thank you so much Demo!
p.s. this is a stupid request but could you do a wehr gren skin that's got the same colour scheme as the pgren shirt you made and with a darker helmet? The one I'm referring to is that pgren with the gold/brown shirt. Last edited by Techlology : 28th Jul 09 at 1:36 AM. |

Hello DemoSS,
Again I have to say that your new skins are fantastic. You said previously that you use the engineer2 skin as an elite trooper skin. I am curious - how did you go about this ? Did you just leave all the engineer data files as is (sbps, ebps, art files), and just paste the new "tex_al_engineer" file into the allied shared_textures folder ? Or, if you didn't, did you create all new sbps and ebps files along with copy/pasting the engineer graphic files into a new units art folder ? I am not all that familiar with the graphic file linking in CoH as yet. So just thinking out loud here, I had thought that in my own private mod, I might use your engineer3 (with the Axis pioneer backpack) as my US engineer - and your engineer3 (with the CW packs) as my US infantrymen. Then copy in your new engineer2 (light camo skin) and use him (the normal CoH engineer) as the basis of a new US marine squad. For those who are now raising their eyebrows, and are historically minded - don't think of this scenario as WW2…OK. It's post WW2. best wishes sunray ![]() |

Technology, you can download it now..
Bubz, do you mean to give to rifleman the helmet like the mortar or machine gunner's one? I think it should be a model mixing or the normalmap editing. Do you think this is really necessary? OK, I'll see what I can do..Hi, Sunray. I did it the second way: new ebps, sbps, .abp file, tex_al_engineer1 (for example). So, I have my US engineers with an engineer1 skin, also have expert engineers with an engineer3 skins, and an elite assault team with an engineer2 skin. All of them are different units with different ebps/sbps etc. |

I think the helmet should be the same colour as the mortar/mg team but without that yellow stripe or accessories, and be a simple smooth helmet, it would add that awesomeness rifles need (probably normal map editing+darker colour).
The new skins are just amazing. |

DemoSS,
More great work. Your skins are truly fantastic !!!! Even if some of your skins are a little "out of the box" for some people - like the Soviet Marine - they give some very welcome variation, and add individual "flavour" to the models that are available. So keep throwing in more of those skins that are not considered "normal" by some players. And please put all of the skins you create up for download. There are people who will use all of them - no matter what they are. They open up many possibilities for modding. I particularly like the Soviet Marine - can you give him some equipment as well ?? By the way, I have installed the engineer1 (with the CW sappers backpack) as my infantry_rifleman, and just after I build the infantry squad, their bodies disappear (leaving only the head and rifle. I thought this was caused by the infantryman ebps still having a rifleman01 rolevariation. Could this be correct ?? If it is, can I fix the problem by changing to a engineer01 rolevariation ?? Keep up the excellent work.....you are a texturing machine !!! best wishes sunray ![]() |

Sunray, maybe there some mistakes in abp or rgm files? As for Soviet Marines, I've made them just for fun.. So, if you want to have this skin, I'll remake it more detailed. This skin uses the rolevariation "Hazard", you should use no rolevariations (or "Airborne00" - with helmet) for more ammunition.
Bubz, Tech, how about this..? Last edited by DemoSS : 12th Aug 09 at 6:08 AM. |

Hi DemoSS,
Well, there have been a couple of outcomes I should tell you about, with the use of your new skins. First up - something I didn't mention previously - the paratrooper skin. If people try to use your paratrooper skins "as is", they will find (like I did) that all they keep getting is the vanilla paratrooper skin in-game. I couldn't figure out why - and suddenly I realised what was wrong - the rgt file should be called "paraprooper", not "paratrooper". As that's what Relic called their original file. I changed the rgt to "paraprooper", and there is your great new skin. I like your ranger a lot as well. You have done very well with him. I have no problems there. Not such a good result with your new camo engineer (with your CW sapper1 packs). In-game, the skin works fine - until you move the squad into cover. Then the body and uniform disappear. Leaving only the helmet, weapon, and packs visible. Then, when you move them out of cover, those invisible parts do not return. I experimented with two squads. One squad I deliberately steered away from going through any cover - and the squad members remainder fully visible. The other squad was fine, until I moved it into cover. The bodies and uniforms, of the squad members that were actually in the cover, disappeared. While the squad members who didn't fit into the cover remained fine. Then when I moved that squad out of cover, the squad members who were in the cover retained their invisible parts. And the squad members who had not entered the cover were still completely visible. So the cover seems to be what is triggering the bodies and uniforms to disappear - never to return. What I am trying to achieve out of all of this, is a soldier to use as my allied "rifleman", wearing a camo uniform and helmet, and the CW sapper1 packs. As for the Soviet naval marine - Of course I will use it - whether you choose to put extra work into it or not. I appreciate whatever skins you put up for download. Let's face it - anything you do is better than what I am able to do. Thanks for all your efforts - including your responses - I appreciate them. best wishes sunray ![]() |
