Homeworld: EMPIRES (includes Kadeshi Mod) -CLOSED TESTING BEGINS APPLY NOW- -P43-
This mod brings back the Kadeshi race from Homeworld 1, along with many lost concepts from earlier conceptions of Homeworld 2.
The title of the thread has been recently changed to signify the mod's efforts in directions of the original game concepts (more coming soon that you won't believe) as well as the Kadeshi mod. I've taken the time to reorganize the mod's media to make everything more accessible. I did this from my laptop so I put up everything I currently had on my server, I will add some better newer screenshots soon. All concept art may be found HERE The mod's early stage (OLD) trailer may be found HERE A later stage Nebula trailer may be found HERE Footage of the HW1 Kadeshi Intro (for those who havn't seen it) may be found HERE SCREENSHOTS (in chronological order) Early Stage Kadeshi Fighter Testing - All fighters have since been textured. Later Stage Kadeshi Fighter Tests - Not featuring new models Early Stage Needleship and Nebula Tests - Older models, without optimized nebula Kadeshi Needleship - New Model Larger Version Kadeshi Resourcer CONCEPT - MODEL (early screenshot) Wallpaper-screenshots (Later) ![]() Wallpaper Version Alternate Wallpaper 2 Alternate Wallpaper 3 Alternate Wallpaper 4 Wallpaper-screenshots (EARLY) Wallpaper Version Wallpaper Version Wallpaper Version Wallpaper Version ![]() Wallpaper Version WHATS DONE: The mod currently supports massive kadeshi swarms with up to 400 fighters (a plan max of 500) and some of the best looking massive nebula enviroments of any game. Minable gas veins are completed. Models for the new needleship, resource collector and swarmers have been completed. Fuel balancing scripts have been implemented, models for nearly every other ship are in progress. New EMPIRE environments are 60-80% done (Not telling yet). We have concept art for just about every new ship in the kadeshi "armada" and a storyline planned for those who need one. If anyone would like to know anything more feel free to PM me or ask questions in this thread. If anyone would like to help, we appreciate any efforts offered. One dissapeared, another two just sort of fizzled away and stopped doing stuff and Thought no longer had the time.
Most of what you see has been done or organized by me with friends in the Homeworld 2 community who wern't actually on my team. |

Alright, though I dont have any great versions on me as to I'm not currently on my main computer. Here is a old little sort of collage of some of the designs, all were and I suppose are still under adaptation or development.
If you want any larger versions or different views or even different versions I have such for most of the ships. |

![]() if You are interested, here is a Kadeshi Cruiser i designed a while ago... i know the ion beams have wrong color, i was lazy to change it. The armament is 3 strong forward facing beams (stronger than MBF) + 6 secondary beams capable of hitting fighters (Somtaaw MBF style but stronger as Kadeshi are experts at beam weapons) |

Ohhh I like that image.
A few things you could to to make it better, dont just stick a blue cloud layer on top because on the sides it looks like it is behind the planet but on the planet it just looks like it is floating in front. Also the lights of the city look odd just fading in like that, if it is such a massive world-wide city it would be visible on the day side too. Tefeari I will also throw out some models of some of those designs. |

Create a background story on how the kadesh survived, it would be propably due to the fact that the hiigarans missed the fact that the kadesh did in fact have a homeworld and also create some enemy or is this just going to be a mp mod? Enough of my flamming, critisism, good luck with the mod, hope to see it finished!

Mothership?
Assuming that the big diamond shaped ship is a mothership and not some random diamond shaped thing put in the for the heck of it, could you tell us why the Kadeshi need one? They already have a pretty well hidden homeworld if no one has found it for this long.
P.S. Looking forward to this mod. Don't think I have the Kadeshi Void mod anymore, but it was fun when i had it. |

ok, I guess I'm confused, then. The things that attack you in the nebula are what you're using for motherships right now. Their sub-units are the quad ion things, the drone controller units and the smaller powerful fighters that eat your units unless you focus fire on the drones. You mentioned nebulicious goodness for the maps to go with your mod, so I'm assuming from that this kadesh thing is based on the garden ships...
Plus you acted like the quad ion spinning things made sense... I *know* they fought with the drone control things in the nebula--that doesn't have anything to do with the requiem stuff. Edit: Oh, I see. Not the Hiig drone frigates--the smaller insect shaped ships which controlled the fighters for the garden ships. |

There is probably going to be every kadeshi ship in HW2 in this, though fuel pods or fuel burn may have to wait until later as to there are currently major difficulties with it. I may have to put in a temporary alternate weakness.
Laser: They are called Needleships, they are somewhere between a carrier and a mothership. They house and create the frigates and the fighters in Homeworld 1. And they will probably act as a sort of heavy carrier in this game aswell. DeathBunny: I have a very hard time reading what you said, but, as I said I plan to have all the ships from Homeworld 1 in this, so... If its a homeworld 1 ship your talking about I'll probably have it. I already have all the swarmer and adv. swarmer imported though only one has teamcolors done on it yet. Also, to everyone who doesn't know what to refer to the different Kadeshi ships as, please go to the Kadesh Section of the Homeworld Shipyards for the names that most people use and are familiar with. |

I know the needleships. Darn things sideswiped half my fleet first time I fought them. My question is what is the diamond thing on the left side of your size chart. Needleships are nowhere near that size. If they were that size, the quad ion beams would be huge.

ok, I read the page you linked. When I said drone controllers I meant fuel pods. I didn't realize it when I played HW, but I guess all they did was supply fuel. My impression was that killing them made the swarmers stupid or inert so that they were easier prey. I guess I was half right--they just ran out of fuel.
Still that's completely rearranging what I thought of the garden guys. I thought they were short on crew members and so were attacking with highly advanced automated units. After reading that page they come off as kind of rag-tag scavenger types. My brain had them pegged as this kind of mad-scientisty group. Well that's what I get for not reading the back story I guess. But yes, I was referring to fuel pods. However, since I thought they provided actual control of the fighters, rather than just refueling, my suggestion is sort of moot. I suppose you could still put a couple turrets and a fire control tower on them to represent their importance... |

I captured them and sold them to make money. I didn't realize the pods actually had a purpose!
I have to disagree with the dead rabbit, don't mount weapons on the fuel pods. Leave them the way they are. Feel free to introduce new units, but please don't change the existing ones too much. |

I dont see why the EX mod would use these units. This is pretty much a seperate mod within itself.
I have however worked quite a bit with the Requime War Mod, I may use some adapted versions of their models, and its possible that they may use a few of the kadeshi mod models at some point it hasn't been decided yet. |

ok. im trying to model them, not much luck. wings, while good, isnt so informative on some things. and im just not too experiencced. stll trying though. btw, if you want battles in nebula then somebody came up with a really cool looking effect in the hyperspace arena mod. its like dust clouds mixed with radioactive nebulae, gives a really cool effect and its perfectly usable as the radiation is set to 0. just an idea

kenahk that design originally came from Ignus and was modified by Rob C.
Well here is the start of the Escort Carrier model. Very rough and basic beginning right now but it will have plenty of detail and will be dead sexy. It has been cleanly modelled and I will do my best to keep poly count down and detail count up. If you like this Tefeari contact me on AIM again. Whaddya guys think? Edit: Fixed the tags. Hooray! I will definitely smooth and curve the front. It is like that at the moment just to show the shape I want. My main problem is that the main hull itself is rather plain, and I would like it to look more Kadeshi. I have a few ideas what I can do but I will definitely take suggestions, I also have to figure out a nice kadeshi turret design but that should be easier.
