i was just wondering i know that the imperial guard have many many tanks but some are named after leman russ the space wolf primarch i jus wondered if anybody knew why!??
i assume its because he did something for them but wot could he have done that benifitted the entire IMPERIAL GUARD!?

I think it had something to do with the space wolves defending a Forgwrod and they developed the STC and named it in russ' honour [info taken from a tired wery GW staff member going home from games day one evening on a Buss. authenticity unknown]

the leman russ was made shortly after the horus heresy,but during the heresy the dark angels and the space wolves were makeing there way to earth,but came upon some damaged space craft,there they found some man,he explained that chaos had taken his home world,russ and the lion started to argue,russ wanted to save the world and the lion wanted to get to his father,as they started to fight a DA chaplain looked upon the man they saved,he had a twisted smile on his face(there was something else to this guy but I cant remember)
the lion and russ stoped fighting as they saw the body fall to the ground headless,the taint was very great on this world and it was renowned for its tanks and weapons,so the two chapters destroyed the taint and left for earth,the people I guess made the russ after that.
I may of left tidbits out but meh....
