the Tau themselves have no psyker's in their race.
The etherals are not really tau, nobody knows what they are, but either way they do not register in the warp. In BFG the tau have added a new allied race to their empire much the way they added kroot that does have psykers, the Nicassar. There are at this time no plans I have heard of to bring the nicassar into 40k. |

first off, there is no official fluff on ethereals (that I'm aware of) that sheds light into their exact nature. it is hinted at in the codex and in firewarrior that their influence over the tau might be due to pheromones.
it was also established that tau as a whole are not psychic. if ethereals are psychic, they can't be corrupted, as their souls are pure. warp energy just pains them, but it doesn't corrupt them. firewarrior hints that not all regular tau might be as pure. if they focus on the principles of the tau'va however, they can focus their mind to a point where they become immune to non-physical influences of chaos. since the shovah enclaves are without ethereals and have revoked the Tau'va, they'd be a good deal more vulnerable to the influence of chaos than loyal tau. no telling how vulnerable however. if they find another philosophy to help focus their minds, they can fend off the taint of chaos however. when it comes to humans, this also goes to show that devotion to the cause of the holy emperor protects from impurity is much, much more than empty blabble. |

From what I read I took away that they were like the Culexus Temple Assassins, not only no pressence in the warp, but they actually leave a void there. |
