Ork vs Eldar tactics

I need help... seems like most of my loss comes from 90% VS Eldars... I cant seem to beat em especially on bigger maps where rushing cannot be done. Does anyone have good strats against those eldars?

Get like 4-5 slugga buy squads with big mek before you engage in fight with eldar. Make sure you have enough lps to reinforce all your squads at once. When u engage eldar with approx 15-20 sluggas and big mek he will have about 5 SC and 3 maybe 2 guradin squads so waht you do is set all your sluggas on overwatch and target his seer with sluggas and SC with mek. After seer is dead kill guradins. If forces are equal tech to trucks. They ripp thorugh anything.

You cannot win the infantry game. Don't even try. Warp spiders effortlessly cut through Sluggas and Shootas, Entangle will cripple your Mek, and Psychic Storm will decimate any mob of Orks large enough to be a real threat. Seer Council then cleans up Nob leader stragglers.

In order to win against Eldar, you must exploit their early weakness against vehicles and their inability to quickly react to new types of threats. In short, you must rush straight to Wartraks. Harass early on with your Mek and 1 squad of Sluggas, focusing on slowing down their advance and making them run around to defend their strat points. Try not to reveal your plan until you already have a couple Traks ready for action.

When you do attack, go for the throat. Hunt down and destroy every Webway gate they have, and destroy their Soul Shrine. Without those they cannot build Brightlance platforms, which are the only thing Eldar have which can kill Wartraks consistently. Don't worry too much about enemy LPs, have your mek and sluggas take care of them. Gun down any Warp Spiders and Guardian squads with Warlocks you come across, as they are the biggest threats against your sluggas. Wartraks can still take out Brightlances so long as you can get close enough and have a numerical advantage. Don't cluster your Traks too much, in case they grab Eldritch storm.

For a replay that illustrates how this works, check out this thread. While Corpse seems to lose too many Wartraks unnecessarily, he still comes out on top.

i dont believe magitek.ALOT of sluggas and couple shootas with burnas should do the job.remember an eldar guardian cant stand up to a slugga boy in close combat.and the shootas with burnas with break the eldars will to fight

Sadly, Magitek is simply correct, at this point.

You can beat Eldar, but only if he is a worse player than you. Given equal skill levels, Orks cannot beat Eldar with infantry. All Eldar need are Entangle and Plasma Grenades.

When the Plasma Grenade bug is fixed, Orks will have a much better chance.

Magitek is completely right. If you watch the best Ork players in the replay section they all go straight for Wartraks. I primarily play eldar and the only Orks who can ever beat me are the ones who do exactly what Magitek says: Keep the pressure on with Big Mek and sluggas (teleport outta there if you get Entangled) and buy time until your Wartraks come out. Don't forget the rokkit upgrades for killing shrines/webway.

Especially with plasma bugged as it is right now don't even try to mob your boys at an eldar, unless the Eldar player is substantially worse than you he will mow down the boys with no trouble. Psychic Storm + Plasma + Entangle + massed Shurken fire/Warp Spider fire = No way in hell the orks are even going to make a dent in the Eldar force.

Red wunz go fasta!

The only way I ever win vs. Eldar is by going straight for trakks, 2 4-man slugga squads and a big mek along with base defenses can defend against pretty much anything right now (even seer council) and usually by the time you are being attacked you are only seconds away from getting your first Wartrakk. There isn't much you can do about Bright Lances though, with other races you can just teleport a big mek back there to kill missiles/rokkits but lance platforms are too tough, you need several trakks with rokkits to take them out, and that means less big shootas to take on the seer council (and you will need all you can get). Its really a balancing act, and IMO the best thing to do if they get too many bright lances for you to handle is to upgrade to orky fort for nobz and pray. Nobz+Warboss are better than Seer Council+Farseer, and the Big Mek+Nobz can take Bright Lances out at a reasonable rate. The guardians don't do much vs. Nobz and most Eldar players rarely get anything but Guardians, Seer Council, and Lances. Most of the time though if they get too many bright lances you will die before you get Nobz out, but building boyz is definately not the counter because Seer Council will walk over them, and wartrakks aren't either because bright lances kill them in seconds, so Nobz are your only option. Sad but true (IMO)

HalberdBlue,

Countering Brightlances with Rokkit Traks sounds incorrect. First, they are heavy infantry, so the Gunz should do better damage. Second, Brightlances RAPE Traks.

Brightlances are countered decently by Choppas in melee and Big Shootas at range.

As an eldar player, I found the following Ork tactic to be quite effective. Storm Boyz jump in as fodder, Big Mek with big slugga squad tele in to CC THEN rush the rest of sluggas.

And against BL, use heavy bolters cuz they're considered as infantry. Also, after you've build trakks and eldar start countering by pumping lots of BL. Just charge up your trakks and rush to the eldar base.....trakks are fast you can probably take out some important buildings (webway/shrine) before they can rush back.

Orks don't get Heavy Bolters, and Big Shootas aren't great against the particular armor type that Plats use.
