(IE you deserve to be ignored if you are too lazy to read) (IE laziness is not a defense ) However, I have no problem if you ask for a clarification on a previous discussion as long as it brings new light to that discussion. I know the threads can get very long and unfortunately that means that some questions will get buried, however, if you don't read this first post and the mini faq then I pity you (the regulars will make sure of this) 6. feel free to post long convoluted discussions on the mechanics of either the game or the SW universe 7. DO NOT recommend references unless the material it is not contained in official literature (books, movies, comics, games, RPG) or star wars technical commentaries, unless your source is more repuatble and correct than these I will not consider it. (IE no fan made stuff) 8. check the current bug list before you post a new one. Anyone who wants to help with specific ships can submit them under the following requirments. LOD0 model of around 3000 polys with 1500 polys in goblins LODX model(s) of around 600 polys (for performance) model fully UVd to a single texture no larger than 1024x1024 that follows the relic guidelines. (power of two size, seperate layers, small thruste texs are fine) I will do the required hardpoint and ship file work. 10. <jedi mind trick>OBEY the rules of the thread </jedi mind trick>(obey #7 remember, being lazy and not reading is not a defense, I spend nearly 40 hours a week in a lab doing work on microprocessors in addition to my classes and still have time to bring you this mod, if you can honestly say you have less time, then I will forgive you) note: I may do things that violate current cannonical conventions in the mod, these are for the best. (mon cal naming or executor length for example) accept this and move along peacefully, I have my reasons :bandit: This is a restart of the warlords thread to bring it under forum size restrictions (so don't delete this informational post :-p) , no new version is curently released, but the latest version is warlords 0.56 test. Yep, the old one was archived because of new forum rules. I will download the clone wars mod, hopefully one the mirrors will allow stopping and continueing downloads since im on dialup...
Could anyone setup a server which allows continueing of downloads...im so tired of this crap, everyone thinking of broadband only.. |

Can anyone help me with dual installation of Homeworld2?
Currently i have Warlords .45 and wanting to include Clone Wars. What i did was install 2 Homeworld2 on different parts on my HD, but when i install the patch, it only patch to one Homeworld folder. Also when i try to play the second installed homeworld2, it won't play and says something about secure com problem. I've tried copying the whole Homeworld2 patch1.1 to another new folder and when i click to play the result is the same, something about the secure com. Appreciate anyone's help, Thanks. p.s. I really like Yuuzhan Tzar's (spelling?) map, great atmosphere. |

Wouldnt all you need is seperate shortcuts pointing to the different .big versions of the mod?
For example "C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod warlords0.45.Big -luatrace and "C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod CLONEWARS0.91.Big -luatrace |

Yeah, I have 6 different HW2 shortcuts for only a single installation, all going to different versions/mods; One for the original, one for Warlords, one for Clone Wars, one for FSNA, one for Rehash MkII, and one for miscellaneous extensions...a system that's easy to assemble, easy to use, and the only downside being a good fraction of your desktop is covered with HW2!

@evillejedi: In "E3:RofS" innitial space batle there is a scene where Venerator shoot a blue beam from it's bottom hangar and shoot down the Separatiost frigate.
Any chance to have this beam as special wepon like those on imperial SSD ?? BTW it's a total stupidity to battle over your capital world if you saw that cruiser landing scen you know what I mean. Heavy populated are: Mom, mom!!! Yes, honey ?? There is one busted cruiser in our garden, and another one that is falling right into middle of our house. Yes, honey, have fun. venators have the SPHA-T cannon (the big blue beam) in Warlords 0.49997 - use the same way as the SSDs superlaser.
also the Munificent and the Pinnace both have "z" weapons. On a side note... using the GCO Map Creator app, I've pretty much succeeded in creating playable "historical" scenarios -> the big hang up, and it's not so much a hang up as a flavour/fan-boy thing, is naming the ships. Any help with jumping that hurdle would be appreciated. it's not essential...but the Battle of, say, Orinda, sounds a lot better with "Reaper vs Lusankya", rather than Executor SSD vs Executor SSD... also naming the ships will help me remember which ones I want to keep alive |

If you want named ships, you'll have extract the ships from the big file and make duplicates of said ship, one for each different name you want. Theres some thread around somewhere I'm sure that tells you how to add new ships. Thats basically what you'd be doing.
There is no way to allow naming of ships in-game, short of a severe scripting job. Not even remotely worth the effort. |

well, as an aside, what does the <sSquadronName> argument do in the AddSquadron function do? Is it internal, or can I actually get the name to display accurately?
mr Who: Warlords 0.49997 is also known as the 5_15 patch. The Munificent's class 15 turbolaser (right up there with EJ's "favourite", the insanely over powered ISD3) does between 150k and 300k damage but in a fixed arc. "z" refers to the salvo key - it may differ for different HW2 versions. Also, the special attacks tend to have a loooong recharge time. |

i don't know if no have noticed this, but when i play the new CW the ships seem to be moveing at double time. like they move wivce as fast as the orginal clonewars mod. I may just be tripping mut i could have spwan the moleminers don't go from the X-9 fighter Facility to the line up in less then 2 seconds.

I'm not entirly sure about this, but thinking about the cartoons that were shown on cartoon network before episode 3 was out there were a LOT of droids coming onto the planet. I would not be surprised if the seperatists built really cheap droids and ships JUST for the purpose of cannon fodder until they reached the planetary defences and took them out.
As for Coruscant's defences there were still a great many troops and ships there, but the seperatists brought just about their entire fleet to the planet (probably a move by palp to ensure the sepratists could be easily taken care of after his rise to power). We must also realize that Coruscant isn't up to the almost impenitrable Imperial Fortress at this point. It is described in the books as having a double planetary forcefield that rotate opposite of each other and open at specific points for incoming authorized ships while being littered with Golan space stations in orbit. However there were none seen in the movie implying that these defensese were just the next step in Palp's evergrowing military might of his new empire. Please excuse any mishaps or wrong items and I will take no offence to CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and corrections and I actually encourage it ![]() |

Indeed, who's to say that a Defense Grid wasn't online and taking down ships left and right, we only got a few glimpses as the Jedi Fighters weaved through the fray. On the other hand, they might have actually deactivated a Defense Grid if it indeed existed, for the simple reason that any Defense Systems the Planet might hold would be a threat to the ship Chancellor Palpatine was held on...

Great work so far Evillejedi, definately the best MOD out there, as soon as the new version hits I'm going to go and buy yet another version of HW2 because my damn disc isn't working. I really miss this game
BTW thanks for updating the Allegiance, its still my favorite ship in the mod. |

Eh maybe you misunderstood me. I was actually asking the same like you are, i want to know if and when ANYONE could setup a fking server so people without broadband can actually enjoy the mod. A real shame. Douzens of hours are put into a game, and then the thing can not be tested by poor folks. If i EVER do a mod, i will make sure to have proper hosting for poor peeps like me.

Plus, it should be easy enough to get access to a computer with broadband internet access or a flatrate and a CD-/DVD-writer or ZIP drive. I mean, I don't know 'bout other countries, but in Germany about 98% of all households could upgrade to 1Mbps broadband for not more than 10/month, which isn't very much considering the bandwidth you get. By that, I don't want to say everyone should upgrade, because it still is money, but as almost anyone got at least a CD-writer even larger files should be no problem.

there are a lot of places in the US that simply can't get broadband or even the broadband that is there is sucktastic, most of the issues are cabling and regulator BS that slows broadband adoption. If you live in the city its one thing, but go 39 miles out and good luck

There is only so much you can optimized. Eville is doing his best, but this is a high quality mod. It will always tax your system beyond the original HW2 game.
Problems: 1) Do you have the 1.1 patch installed? 2) Have you created a new player profile? 3) Have you tried updating your video drivers? Check if shadows in the video options in HW2 is disabled as it can really slow a computer with lots of ships in the same area.
It may look cool with it on but better turn it off.Thanks for hosting Cone Wars 0.91 it on SW Rebellion. :bow2: I'll d/l it as soon as I have finished a mega d/l at 645MB. maxdamage. |

Forced to recreate one. Wanted to check out the "old toy". Glad to see it is alive. ![]() It's me or in 0.45 battles tend to go into infinity? Weapons rarely hit, and if they hit the hitting power is weak. Ship's firepower is much less then their autorepair systems and shield recovery. And ion cannons never disable enemy. I upped all weapon firepower 50% and increased some hit chances. Now it more like it. Also fixed bugs in shield sybsistems on some smaller ships (covette/frig classes) For example System Patrul Craft was nearly invulnerable. ![]() Tested "single player" mission. Nice, but short. Hi.
may i ask you rgreat, how do i change the firepower and accuracy? is it also possible to change weapon-fire speeds? This is just for my own personal use ofcourse :-) I just wanna slow the firespeeds by 50% or something and make the the damage 50% higher.
