My friend that plays Space Marines says that Xavier isn't in the 4th ed. Codex. I'm curious of how you'll play him, if that's the case.
I like those Thunder Hammer + Storm Shields too. And it's really cool how you're 'heavy' weapons are mainly fire-based weapons, such as flamers and meltas. Cool :viking: |

Master of Sanctity, Adamantine Mantle, Bolt Pistol, Terminator honors. 49pts cheaper than the old Xavier.
His special rule in the old 3rd Ed was he had a holy Relic that gave everyone within 12" an extra attack for one round. You can't take both the mantle and the relic in an army these days, but you get the litany of hatred special rules instead ![]() |

Don't worry, it's okay to say BLACK PEOPLE. I'm pretty sure the poltical correctness police aren't going to lynch you.
The Salamanders come from a volcanic world named Nocturne where pretty much the entire local population is terran afro-carribean stock (i.e. Black). This is the only source of recruits for the chapter since they must go through a slower and more patient recruitment method where each initiate must go through the challenges Vulkan saw through in his early life, starting with learning the ways of the forge. In addition, when Vulkan fell to Nocturne as an infant, he was burned black by the sheer heat from the lava he landed near. His skin was forever blue-black from that point. In the earlier editions of Warhammer 40,000 flaw was carried through his gene seed to anyone that became a space marine in his legion. This has been forgotten in 3rd and 4th edition though. Also, whoever painted the army for 3rd edition messed up and included a few white guys in there ![]() There's some more stuff about the Salamanders here: Salamanders |

That's right! Black men DO serve in the Imperium! I've got some black guardsmen! I personally think it's fun to have some racial diversity in your army. I specifically bought the Imperial Guard Chimera Field Kitchen boxed set for....er wait....nevermind, I'm going to hell.
Just kidding, of course. I've got a black sergeant (tribute to Apone from Aliens) and a flamer who's black. I need to have more, it just adds depth to your army's appearance. When someone's looking at them and they see all these guardsmen and they suddenly see one who isn't caucasian/white ,it suddenly occurs to them that black men are as much a part of the imperium of man as any race. I have seemed to notice that Games Workshop never seems to have any other races represented in the armies they display in the codices or other 40k books |

very good.
One slight irk though. The green on your tanks is a bit [>insert the word I can't think of here<] Um... We'll go for a mix of rushed and blotchyish (don't get me wrong, its good, but IMO the green on the tanks lets it down only a tad) But still, your actual marines are fandabydosy, and I love the landraider too. (apart from the green but meh...) |

Reason they probably look blotchy is because they're dusty at the moment, and the camera flash too
![]() I have an older picture of my Rhinos here, along with my Trophy for winning the Damocles tournament back in March last year. ![]() The flame symbol is the same one I use in DoW for my army banner, so it's possible you've seen it there. |

I don't care how old the thread is. I miseed them the first go around and all I can say is DAMN that's an impressive army. Impressive single model is one thing, but to have all those guys painted to such a solid standard is very impressive indeed.
Kudos |

Well, I think I forgot to give my credits last time I checked this tread.

Wow, the thread is alive again!
![]() Okay, questions answered: I have some old style terminators painted up, but they ahve since been retired and replaced by the new plastics. In fact I got 4 box sets of these things since i needed the Assault Cannons.... Looks like i'll be fielding the first company at a later date. They're only basically painted at the moment, I had to rush the last few for my grand tournament army, and basically I burned out doing that I need to get them done up nice for the final in March though, so i'll be posting them soonish.I have a whole bunch of half finished models including a nearly finished converted dreadnought. I can throw some pictures of those up on this thread later once i've charged my camera. Since I have to get my Terminators fully painted up for the tournament final, I'll also get some photos of how I shade the armour. Here's an ancient picture of my Dread conversion and a very old picture of my entire army gathered together |
