Relic Community Wiki
:new:
We have a new Relic Community Wiki! Before I give y'all the URL and let you have at it, a few... Things to note: Remember, this is intended as a historical record. We want notable things - things that a few years from now, we might ask ourselves "hey, do you remember when ____ happened?" and go to the Wiki to find out about. Thus, try and stay ... respectful isn't quite the right word, but it's the best I can think of right now. Funny is fine - silly and idiotic isn't. HTML won't work in most cases, so use Wikiformatting. Take a look at existing pages (click the edit links at the top) if you're not sure how to use it. 'tis pretty simple, but feel free to ask how to do things if you need to. For now, we're asking that you don't create profiles for people who aren't at least Senior Members. We haven't decided on how to categorize the People category yet in a manner that is easy to understand, so we'd like to keep the number of profiles a little small for now. I strongly suggest registering an account to edit pages. Also, when posting on a Talk page, sign your name with four tildes - like so: ~~~~ Questions? Ask here, or better yet, ask on my talk page. http://wiki.hwcommunity.com/ Enjoy! |

Really I leaned on CJ to move the wheels on this because I wanted to archive the recipes from the recent thread in a more efficient manner. SHHH THE HISTORY STUFF IS COOL TOO.
Basically fora are a terrible way to store information. Wiki is an excellent way to store information. |

Hi ceejay,
I just wanted to know if there was going to be a page on each of the forum sections. Like a history of GD or imprtant events there etc. I noticed that there were no pages about the different sections and wondered if that was for a reason. |

On the subject of this being useful for modding, I highly doubt it, a dedicated wiki like Homeworld and DOW has are more useful in those regards.
Still, I've added a timeline and hope to document a few "historical events" and the games that Relic released, if anything. |

ceej, this should be an announcement across all of the fora, if you want to get into the game forums. A lot of possibly excellent contributors never come to GD.
Not being wiki-savvy, I might suggest a few articles to be added by others, which I can then contribute to? - Derek S M A R T's wonderful visit - meme: "Not the Librarian" - Event: I'd give my left nut for... - Event: Imagewars - Where should Shipyards be included? Arioch deserves a whole chapter. - Penny Arcade tributes (and insults) - Spectacular bannings. -- Retro Last edited by Retroboy : 4th Jun 06 at 6:19 PM. |

this wiki is highly undetailed and partially inaccurate.. I can add or clarify and poke holes in most the articles. For example lets take the article of the day..
Molle. He actually bought/took over the guidestone from someone (Cynic, original founder) else who ran it for like a year before molle. not taking away what he did with it. He was apart of the Blood Mafia, the late homeworld pre cata era "Smurf" team.. I could go on about all the articles. I'd be willing to spew loads (moneyshot!p0w!) of unorganized information onto someones face.. er to someone, about the hw community dating back to the inception of #homeworld on 3dgamers, prior to forestnet, the ausnet..etc.. and everything from HW beta 1, 2.. etc. But I don't want to organize or write anything. Sorry. I still have a copy of the beta cd's.. and such. |

I should mention in fairness that I edited my above post after a re-read of Danger's, and before his reply.
But adding to the wiki directly is the best way to keep these memories alive. -- Retro |

Someone in the armada histories vault thread (Athexx) said that eXodus and Ammo were the GS founders, and the Guidestone article reflects that. I don't know anything about Cynic. |

yes, i'm almost sure it was cynic had something to do with.. but ammo was definatly in on it as well.
ok, further research into the past, digging around.. Ammo was the lead guy, created it.. but cynic programmed the entire thing/etc.. and then took it over eventually for a little while. |

Should there be a section on #homeworld, or does that open up a Pandora's Box?
And, Moe, NOTHING is greater than Parmesan cheese. Except really good beer. And a really good homemade beer that's accompanied by a plate of spaghetti with fresh parmesan cheese on it is so fantabulous, it could get a cat pregnant from twenty-three feet away. That's my way of saying that vanity pages should be completely shot down, although pages created by others in the community are ok, otherwise it will become a blogfest in short order. -- Retro |

Hmm... interesting... maybe I can now have revealed to me the shrouded past of these fora.
* BmB goes off to create a page about himself stressing how he's the greatest thing since parmasan cheese... ![]() and maybe you should add a guide to wiki-formatting like Wikipedia's... or just link Wikipedia's. |

That's a STUB, 'fishy. I asked if it should have a SECTION, meaning it has subcontent with links to stuff derived from #homeworld, such as from the funny clips from IRQ GD thread from a month or so ago.
* Retroboy rolls an 18 and successfully reflects " -- Retro |
